  •  3 Combat Echelons
    • 3 AR/SMG are sufficient if they hit hard enough, otherwise, an RF/HG Echelon should be used to finish off the Hydra.

 Clear Steps

This map is RNG on wheels. The Manticore Deathstacks in the middle are not consistent in their movement in the slightest. Which is annoying, because we want them to move so we can access the consoles they are standing on. Harkening all the way back to Chapter One, where you had the option to weaken a Hydra using controlled Artillery emplacements, this is the same thing. When you step on the left console the Hydra on the left will vanish(!). The other Hydra can be blasted with the Artillery to weak it enough for your Echelons to Kill it on the way to M16. M16 herself is pretty wimpy, it's quite possible to kill her before she fires off a single Skill. 

If you are following this guide, you can either attempt to freestyle around any RNG, or reset until you get identical movements. It does not appear to be possible to fully eradicate the RNG from this clear. 

Turn 1

1.1

 Deploy a Combat Echelon on the Command Post. Move to the right two nodes.

Turn 2

2.1

Move the Combat Echelon right, then down-left two nodes, and finally up-left to occupy the Heliport.  

Turn 3

3.1

Deploy a second Combat Echelon. Move right one node, and then up-right one node. 

3.2

Move the left Combat Echelon to the right one node. 

Turn 4

4.1

Move the right Combat Echelon onto the right console. The manticore appears to favor moving up, but may also move to the right. Move either down and left, or left and down as is appropriate to avoid a fight. 

4.1.1

Activate the Console, and use the Artillery to Blast the Hydra. This will massively weaken it. Deactivate the Artillery after doing so. 

4.2

Move the right Combat Echelon left one node. Activate the Console and deactivate the second Artillery. 

4.3

Both Combat Echelons should move to the left one node at this time.

Turn 5

5.1

Deploy a third Combat Echelon. AR/SMG and RF/HG both work, with RF/HG slightly better able to handle the Hydra. Move them down one node, and right one node. 

5.2

Move the lower Echelon down one node, and to the left one node. The Manticores will now return ‘home’ to their consoles. 

Turn 6

6.1

Move the Boss Kill Echelon to the right 4 nodes. A bit of Micro may be needed against the Hydra.
