Surprise? The EX diffiuclty of this event finishes not on an even more horrifying combat challenge, but a sort of 'chose your own maze' puzzle. This map features no combat, and thus, can be completed by anyone, using 4 Dummy Echelons. There will be other solutions to this map, so feel free to experiment as you wish. 

Mechanically, this map is deceptively simple. Nodes can be marked with either an Arrow, or a Cross Out mark. When you step on a node, if marked with a Cross Out, that node, and every adjacent node will gain a Cross Out mark and be rendered impassable. If you step on an node with an Arrow, adjacent nodes will be opened to passage, and Cross Out Marks removed. This is used to close and open paths for your Echelons as you move across the map.

Deploy a Echelons on both the Command Post and Heliport.

Move the lower Echelon to the right three nodes.

Deploy a third Echelon on the Heliport.

Move the Echelon on the Heliport to the right two nodes.

Move the newly deployed Echelon from the Heliport right one node.

Move the Echelon on the Command Post to the right one node. End your turn.

Select the central Echelon on the bottom row. Swap with the Echelon to the left, move up one node, swap with the Echelon above them, and then move to the right one node.

Select the bottom right Echelon. Swap with the Echelon to the left.

Select the Echelon farthest to the left. Move to the right one node, swap with the Echelon above them, then then move one node to the right again.

Select the bottom left Echelon. Move them to the left one node, and then back to the right, ending where they started.

Select the bottom left Echelon. Swap with the Echelon to the right.

Select the central Echelon. Move to the right one node, swap with the Echelon above, and move up one further node.

Select the Echelon on the bottom left. Move to the left one node.

Leave the bottom left Echelon selected. Move them to the right one node, swap with the Echelon to the right, and swap again with the Echelon above them.

Select the bottom left Echelon. Move to the left one node.

Bring the bottom left Echelon back to the right one node. 

5.1

Select the bottom right Echelon. Swap with the Echelon above, and move up one node. 

5.2

Select, yes, the bottom left Echelon once again. Swap with the Echelon to the right, move up one node, swap with both Echelons above, and then to the right one furhter node to capture the Command Post.
