How does the flare skill work?

I've been trying C96 for her flare skill to assist an echelon in night battles, a few players have told me that it's worthless because the flare doesn't work as I'd expect but noone gives me a solid explanation.

Do you know if training a pistol with the flare skill is worth it?

How flare works is that it gives a 100% bonus to your units accuracy while in effect. The problem is that it only adds it's bonus "After" the nighttime accuracy penalty has already hit meaning that for the duration your echelon is at 20% accuracy instead of 10%.

For anything evasive that you'd need the accuracy for, 20% is no better than 10%. You'll still see a sea of misses from those Scouts while the Jaegers behind them blow your echelon to pieces.

Thanks for explaining mate, I wish they fixed the flares. Btw any tip on dealing with the goddamn scout + jagger squads? They always give me trouble, even to my rf hg squads

For now all night battle content can be cleared with 3AR1HG1SMG. The AR are naturally accurate with a PEQ they will clean up any scouts. You can put in a RF also if you have someone like WA who will clean up the backline easily.

I generally just throw my rifle squad at them since the Jaegers themselves don’t have much evasion. The scouts don’t do enough damage to be a threat on their own so they can be ignored till the jaegers are down. If your rifles do get locked up targeting the scouts, you can move them and then quickly move them back to their original position to force them to reassess their targeting.

Alternatively you can field one of the molotov SMGs to clear away the scouts quickly before the jaegers have enough time to set up a firing line. Vector is ideal if you have her but Skorpion can do the job well enough for a while if you don’t.
