Uses of Five Seven

Hey everyone!

This is a two-part question regarding Five Seven:

First: who is better in tile 4 of a RF/HG team: Five Seven or Stechkin?

Second: outside HG/RF teams how useful is Five Seven? In what kind of compositions?

In regard to your first question the answer is dependent on you echelon as a whole. Personally i use PPK on tile 5 which will max out my rifles crit% meaning half of Five Seven's kit is redundant, whereas all of Stechkin's kit still has an affect and pushes the rifles (SVD & WA2000) to the ROF cap allowing me to use any other HG as an off tank.

On the other hand if you use another handgun on tile 5 like M950A, Five Seven will then be a viable choice to max ROF and crit% albeit with slightly lower DPS than what I outlined above.

In terms of use in other echelons Five Seven is fairly limited due to her tile placement forcing her to replace a back row DPS doll. Generally in an AR/SMG echelon you want to have you hand gun as a tank/off tank. Her ROF buff is completely wasted on MG's. She may see some use in a 5HG and 4HG/1DPS echelons for low cost farming but this is fairly niche in my opinion.

Don't get me wrong Five Seven is an excellent HG but as with all T-Dolls there are alternatives with certain advantages and disadvantages based on the situation.

Illuminati10101's answer is pretty much perfect but I would like to add a couple things. First, five-seven is required for the optimal IWS2000 echelon in which you have IWS as DPS and stechkin, five-seven in back row on either side of IWS and welrod in main tank with m950a calico in off tank. I've read that this echelon, aside from being unique, is also quite viable in some situations. Lastly, you COULD use five seven in the backline of an AR SMG echelon that utilizes 2 ARs that buff their own damage. Combine the crit buffs from five-seven with that of a UMP45 or SR3MP and you could forego the usual crit scopes on your ARs and give them hollo scopes to further increase their damage stats. The off tank could be any other SMG. This would be a very efficient echelon, if nothing else, and it would perform decently well. It would save a little ammo and it would be ideal for night battles. Actually, I might even try this myself. Optimal AR SMG echelons usually have 3 DPS and 2 tanks but the 2 DPS, 2 tank, 1 buffer formations, if built correctly, aren't too far behind the others. This wiki actually suggests backline handguns give you more options to create more echelons when your forces are spread thin on large maps. I suggest you read the NZ75 review on this wiki for ideas. About the RF team I have Makarov on 3, and PPK on 5, so Stechkin would be better on tile 4. I'll try Five seven on a night focused AR team. Hopefully they re-add Ots-14 again, I joined the game right when OP cube started so I couldn't get her.
