Main Tank

T-Dolls that have tiles and/or a kit designating them to be a Main Tank.

Thompson
  • Thompson has one of the highest HP values of all SMGs, but also has one of the lowest Evasion meaning she will take some more hits than other SMGs.

  • One of three Force Shield SMGs, when you need this niche she is an option for this.

Shipka
  • Bad at absolutely everything possible
  • Weak tanking stats, Bad tiles, skill is a complete write off
Lusa
  • Another rare SMG with RF tiles, Lusa is one of the few SMGs that can be fully used in RFHG teams
  •  Her Skill forces enemies to target her, which includes the infamous KCCO minitanks Coeus
  • Great tiles for ARSMG and RFHG teams, good stats and a taunt skill make her a good choice, particularly when fighting Coeus. A good secondary maintank with a niche she excels at.
MP5 MOD

With her Neural Upgrade, MP5 is finally a doll worthy of the IRL weapon’s famous legacy. In one fell swoop, MP5 MOD sets out to cure herself of her previous reputation and solidify her place as a strong Main Tank SMG.

In the stats department, MP5 MOD receives a nice boost to her HP, thus addressing her primary statistical flaw. Her Evasion is still fairly average, but her Special Exoskeleton continues to fix this problem. Force Shield is also finally brought up to 4 seconds of duration, in line with the 5 star Force Shield SMGs.

MP5’s new skill, Blurred Trenches, will increase her Evasion per the number of enemies present when her Force Shield expires. With fights becoming longer, this new skill and all her other survivability buffs combine to greatly improve her tanking capabilities beyond that of the other Force Shield SMGs.

MP5 MOD also gets the amazing new ability to buff RFs on her tiles. This gives her tiles a new breath of fresh air since they are well suited for RFs at night, capping their Crit Rate (with maxed VFLs) and providing helpful accuracy. This doesn’t mean she should be defaulted to only RF echelons though, you should always place her where you think will be most beneficial.

Overall, MP5 MOD is an excellent Main Tank that’s highly versatile and can serve well for AR squads, RF squads, and anywhere in between. She’s particularly important for those that want to place highly in Ranking maps, otherwise still remains a recommended upgrade for most people. Don’t let her old reputation of stealing all your Heavy Constructions cloud your judgement, MP5 is finally a doll worth your time.

M38 MOD
  • Jack of All Trades- Can take the role of an off-tank as well as a main tank due to her skill 2 being a Molotov, freeing up a slot for interesting applications. Since she does a grenade rather than buff her own stats, she has a slight advantage in that department over other similar main tanks since neither of her skills is link-dependent.
  • -Master of None: Model 38 Mod’s main tanking ability is wanting, and her Molotov deals far less damage than her actual Molotov counterparts, making her potentially insufficient for both roles.

AUG Para
  • AUG’s little sis, AUG Para is a cutie that has two modes: offensive and defensive
  • Both modes have a window that she needs to ramp up, with her defensive mode’s being no longer than most late maintank’s ICD of 6-8 seconds. When her ramp up window is over, her defensive mode almost rivals RO635 Mom due to how high AUG Para’s Evasion can get (no, don’t build an evasionxodia)
  • Meanwhile her offensive mode has a high damage potential, but because it requires a longer ramp-up window, and a quasi-xodia team, it’s more a curiosity than a practical combat setup.
Henrietta

Main Tank

  • Henrietta performs very well when tanking enemies that deal relatively little damage, due to her passive shield and skill mechanic.
    • Conversely, she underperforms when enemies are highly accurate or hit for a lot of damage.
  • Henrietta's tile buff cannot buff ARs in tile 1 if she's placed at position 5, but she can buff the offtank with Damage and Accuracy thanks to her tiles affecting both ARs and SMGs.
  • While Henrietta can't tank as well as dedicated evasion SMGs like C-MS or Dorothy, she's potentially worth training if you're in need of more durable main tank SMGs.

Off Tank

  • Henrietta can work as an offtank but she offers neither AoE burst nor strong sustained DPS.
  • While Henrietta's skill has a +Damage component, even at max stacks she cannot come close to dedicated DPS offtanks like SR-3MP and cannot buff the backline like JS 9 or Honey Badger
  • Henrietta's tile buff formation also requires her to be placed in Tile 2 and ARs in tiles 1/4 to fully utilize her buffs, which is not ideal.
  • It is therefore not recommended to use Henrietta as an off tank unless you know what you're doing.

For more details, check out Henrietta's full overview.

Cx4 Storm
  • Cx4 Storm is a free 4★ SMG earned from clearing Chapter 1 of the Continuum Turbulence event.
  • Her Evasion and HP are decent for her rarity and class, but her tiles are fairly substandard.
  • She is a self-Evasion-buffing Main Tank with the standard 6s ICD but a much lower multiplier, as part of her skill's power budget goes towards an Accuracy buff instead.
  • While the 10s duration is useful in theory, it is not practically useful in real situations, as many other previously-released dolls outperform her:
    • RO635 has a much better skill for tanking early burst.
    • MP7 performs significantly better vs. bosses.
AK-74U
  • AK-74U is a free 5★ SMG earned from clearing Chapter 2 of the Continuum Turbulence event.
  • Her tiles are decent and she has relatively high HP, though her Evasion is somewhat lower than her peers.
  • AK-74U's skill has a long 6s ICD and has a highly unusual effect of debuffing DMG/ACC of AK-74U's current target. This is hard to use in most encounters and limits her usefulness somewhat - it'll primarily see value against small elite packs and bosses.
  • Against a single target, AK-74U's skill effectively has a 9-10s duration. While the uptime is still not too great, it beats RO635 and can be useful in longer fights where the damage reduction is more useful than a stronger Evasion buff (such as when it allows each dummy link to tank 2 boss hits instead of 1).
    • Since RO635 has a much better skill for tanking early burst and MP7 will be more survivable when direct EVA-buffing is preferable, AK-74U fills a fairly limited niche and is not the best choice for a generalist Main Tank SMG.
P90
  • P90’s Squirrel Skill provides a passive Evasion boost when she takes damage, whereas its active summons holograms that absorb a fixed number of hits while boosting P90’s Evasion even more. The active portion is most effective against incoming fire that is powerful but low in number.

  • Her extraordinarily high Evasion/HP, strong tile buffs, and unique Skill make P90 an excellent maintank for longer fights that involve a small number of very tough enemies, including many boss encounters.

  • While P90’s long Initial Cooldown of 6 seconds makes her less optimal for short engagements or fights against large swarms, her great stats combined with Squirrel’s passive can somewhat patch up her pre-skill survivability.

Dorothy Haze
Dorothy is a limited SMG from the VA-11 Hall-A event, with incredible versatility as both an evasion tank and a support. Her skill’s evasion mode outshines even C-MS, while her damage mode can give the main tank a massive evasion boost. She is also one of the few SMGs that can buff RFs with her tile buffs, although her tile shape is not the best if she is placed in position 8 or 2. Dorothy also has a special equipment that is a Hollow Point Ammo with 7 extra FP. Overall, Dorothy is a top tier evasion based main tank, who can also serve a niche use as an offtank buffer/damage dealer.
100 Shiki
  • 100 Shiki has a quite high HP and rather decent Evasion stat compared to other high HP SMGs, but that’s where her positives end.

  • Her tile buffs, while sporting a 12% Damage increase, have a mediocre tacked-on 35% Accuracy increase.

  • 100 Shiki’s Skill is incredibly awful. She gives herself a 42 HP shield for 5 seconds, and if the shield is destroyed it’ll increase her Evasion by 65% for 5 seconds, and if it isn’t destroyed, it increases her Damage by 85% for 5 seconds. The problem with this Skill is it has an extremely long Initial Cooldown of 8 seconds, meaning for most battles, it’ll go completely unused.

  • Even for long battles where 100 Shiki’s Skill sees an activation, its low buff values for activating so late into battle makes its effectiveness incredibly low.

T77
  • T77 is a limited 3-star Main Tank SMG T-Doll first added to EN via the Million Users Celebration Login Event.
  • T77 grants a decent 12% Rate of Fire buff to all three tiles behind her, and has a fairly high 925 HP but a lower than average 69 Evasion.
  • Her Cover Focus T is very similar to PP-90's skill, with a 40% Evasion boost instead of 45% thanks to T77's lower rarity.
  • Due to its initial cooldown and lower multiplier, Cover Focus T is strictly inferior to the skills possessed by C-MS (+65% Evasion) or Dorothy (+100% Evasion). Players without those two T-Dolls would also likely find other tanks like UMP45/UMP9 performing better in most fights, with RO635/MP7 being good picks for boss fights where an Evasion buff is needed.
C-MS
  • C-MS is one of the best and most versatile SMGs available, sporting decent HP, Evasion, and Damage, alongside a relatively good Accuracy stat, all of which synergizes well with her Skill.

  • C-MS also has one of the better Tile Buffs, increasing 3 ARs Damage by 15% and ROF by 5%.

  • C-MS’s Skill is what truly makes her great. It grants either a 65% increase to Evasion, 85% increase to Damage, or 200% increase to Accuracy depending on which ammo type you have active. With it’s only 1 second Cooldown at all times, it allows her to tank incredibly well for most battles, and deal some extra damage should the need arise.

OTs-39
  • OTs-39 packs surprisingly solid stats and impressive 16% Damage tiles for a 3★ SMG, and her Flashbang skill works wonders in the early game.

  • For beginners who run a 2AR 1RF backline as recommended in the Building Your First Two Teams guide, OTs-39's tiles are perfect.

  • The main issue holding OTs-39 back is her limited availability; despite being a free unit, players must have logged in for 7 days during Christmas 2019 to receive her. By the time a Commander receives her, they most likely already have better and more leveled SMG maintanks.
F1
  • F1 has a very high HP stat but an incredibly poor Evasion stat, hampering her tanking ability.

  • F1’s Tile Buffs are extremely poor, being a 40% Accuracy and 15% Evasion buff, both of which are generally not wanted by ARs.

  • F1’s Skill, Smoke Grenade, is her one saving grace, because it activates almost immediately and alleviates pressure for the tanks during the first few seconds of battle. Unfortunately, Ingram has the same Skill as her, is a much better T-Doll in general, and is much more readily available, making F1 worse than her.

MT-9
  • MT-9 has high HP but a relatively poor Evasion, which hampers her ability to properly tank. Her Tile Buffs are also fairly mediocre, being only a 10% Damage buff and a useless 15% Evasion buff for ARs.

  • MT-9’s Skill is a Stun Grenade, which has the problem of having a rather long Initial Cooldown, not lasting particularly long even with investment, and not working on bosses, which limits its effectiveness.

Ingram
  • Attempts to be a budget Smoke Grenade SMG, but UMP45 is given to all players for free and should be used instead.
RO635
  • RO635's fast activating Evasion self-buff and enemy Damage debuff makes her tanking prowess in battles that last < 8 seconds nearly unmatched by any other SMG.
  • RO635's Skill, Mental Shock, does not rely on placement — unlike Smoke and Flash grenades. It also activates very quickly compared to Force Shields, making it the most versatile and consistent tanking Skill.
  • Comes at 90x5, so there’s no point in not using her.
PP-19-01
  • PP-19-01 has high HP but fairly mediocre Evasion for a main tank. Her tiles are also less than ideal, giving a 12% ROF and 30% Accuracy buff to only two tiles, neither of which are optimal for ARs.

  • While PP-19-01 is one of the few SMGs with a smoke grenade, UMP45 is the same rarity as her with the same Skill, but possesses much better stats and tiles. This means PP-19-01 is completely outclassed.

Type 79
  • Type 79 boasts a very solid stat base with high HP and decent Evasion which allow her to perform a decent job at dodge tanking.

  • Flash Grenades are inferior to Smoke Grenades in every way. They don’t work on bosses, they have a long Initial Cooldown, and Skill training them provides virtually no gain because they last long enough on Skill Level 1. This makes Type 79’s Flash Grenade almost pitiful when compared to UMP45’s Smoke Grenade.

  • Type 79’s 20% Damage tile buff is rather strong, but she finds herself outdone by other SMGs such as UMP45 and G36C due to her inability to buff the AR directly behind her. It is worth noting, though, that Type 79’s tile buffs set her apart from UMP9 and render her as the better choice.

  • Although T79 is a superior choice in comparison to UMP9 overall, she is still vastly outclassed by UMP45 in every regard and she cannot tank anywhere near as well as RO635 either.

Suomi
  • Suomi possesses one of the highest HP values out of SMGs, but her Evasion is really low.

  • Her Skill is mediocre because of having a very long Initial Cooldown of 6 seconds, despite providing a hefty boost to her low Evasion.

Gr G36c
  • G36C’s stats can be considered decent. Her HP is high enough and she has enough base Evasion to dodge at least half the time when fully equipped, however, she still faces all the inherent problems that Force Shielders do.

  • She carries quite effective tile buffs that consist of RoF and Damage boosts. This gives her an edge over the other Force Shielders and makes G36C a decent choice as a Main tank even if her dodge tanking capabilities are poor.

  • The Force Shield Skill may seem great, but the invulnerability it provides is short-lived and its long Initial Cooldown of 8 seconds means it may not see much use in most battles. The Force Shield Niche itself is unnecessary in the current state of the game.

UMP45
  • UMP45 has very strong tiles and average stats. When combined with her Skill, she is a very effective tank.

  • Her Skill, Smoke Grenade, has a 1s ICD, and it is this short cooldown combined with the powerful RoF and Movement debuff it inflicts on enemies that provides a massive boost to UMP45’s tanking capabilities. Sometimes it makes tanking entirely unnecessary through movement speed debuffs, which is simply incredible.

UMP40
  • UMP40 is a strange SMG in that her Tiles buff other SMGs, increasing their crit rate by 500%. At first, this seems amazing, but since SMG base crit rate is 5%, this only makes it 25%, and considering how inaccurate most SMGs are, almost none of them will be doing much damage.

  • UMP40’s Skill, Etching Overload, seems to try to make her have some versatility, but unfortunately it only makes her do both her jobs worse. Before activation, it will take 10 seconds just to reach the required stacks for a bonus 50% Evasion buff and reduces her damage by 25%. Alternatively, you can activate the Skill to reach a bonus 150% Damage with a whopping 100% Evasion decrease after the 10 seconds to get the required stacks.

  • Another small issue with this Skill is, due to the 666 second Cooldown, it necessitates committing to either a mediocre Damage buff with a major downside or an Evasion buff that is nowhere near useful.

  • Due to her horrible Skill, deceptively bad Tile Buff, and middling stats, nothing makes UMP40 stand out and be worth using.

UMP9
  • UMP9 has a solid stat base. Her HP is relatively high and she has decent Evasion, however, this is practically all she has going for her, which is due to her Flash Grenade Skill and formation tile buffs.

  • Flash Grenades are inferior to Smoke Grenades in every way. They don’t work on bosses, they have a long Initial Cooldown, and investing data chips on them provides virtually no gain because they last long enough on Skill Level 1. This makes UMP9’s Flash Grenade almost pitiful when compared to UMP45’s Smoke Grenade.

  • The Accuracy and RoF buffs UMP9 provides are nearly impactless on ARs as they have innately high Accuracy and RoF. Very few of them can appreciate a small boost of RoF.

  • Main tank SMGs themselves don’t see much use unless they are incredibly good at tanking or have great tile buffs. UMP9 does not have either of these qualities, and so her effectiveness in her role suffers.

IDW
  • IDW DA NYA

  • IDW DA NYA

  • Seriously, just use MP7 or Ceia-I mean, Suomi

  • Her annoying and ear-piercing scream will make you look terrible in public.

m45
  • UMP45 is given for free and is the recommended main tank for your early ARSMG, leaving m45 out of a job.

  • Uniquely short Skill CD at 12s instead of the normal 16s.

M38
  • M38 has low Evasion and decent HP, neither of which help her perform well as a tank.

  • Although the Stun Grenade Skill is decent in the early game, as battles get shorter its 5 second Initial Cooldown and 1 second throwing time makes it significantly less effective than Smoke Grenades. It also doesn’t work on bosses, limiting its utility.

Gr MP7
  • MP7 is directly comparable to Suomi pre-Mod as a Specialist, with direct improvements to tile coverage and Skill multipliers.

  • MP7's similar below-the-bar Evasion and high skill ICD make her impractical for general use.

PP-90
  • Should not be used as UMP45 and RO635 are given to the player for free.
FMG-9
  • FMG-9 has exceptionally high Evasion when compared to all SMGs, but her low HP does have a negative impact on her ability to tank.

  • Significantly weaker tiles than UMP45, who you should be using instead because you get her for free.

MPK
  • Should really only be paired with MPK to counteract downsides and for bonus synergy from their unity skill
  • Boosts the firepower of all nearby units and deals a % of their maximum HP in damage

Grenadier

T-Dolls that throw HE grenades or molotovs.

M3
  • M3 has a decent Damage stat, but all her other stats are either mediocre or flat out below average.

  • Her buff tiles offer boosts to an AR’s Evasion and Accuracy -- not only is this a useless buff as ARs don’t need Evasion and are inherently accurate, but it also only covers a single tile behind her.

  • M3’s grenade Skill is decent, but has lacking multipliers due to her 2* rarity.

Z-62
  • Like other Incendiary Grenade SMGs, Z-62 can output significant damage with her Skill, especially if she has a DMG buff or two from ARs.

  • She provides a modest 12% DMG buff to two ARs behind her.

  • Overall, Z-62 is a slightly better Skorpion as she carries Damage tile buffs and her base Damage stat is higher, leading to her dealing more damage with her Skill.

Jashin-Chan
  • Jack of all trades, master of none, Jashin tries to pack both offensive abilities and a survival kit, and fails on both
  • Her shield takes too long to activate to be reliable in most battles
  • Her AoE attack suffers from its low multiplier in a similar manner to how AR HP Grenadiers suffer
  • Being an offtank with an AoE skill, she also suffers from ballooning enemy HP, much like Molotov SMGs
SAF
  • Strong Tile Buff
  • Knock back effect is quirky and unreliable
M12
KLIN
  • KLIN has a decent Damage stat, decent Evasion, and rather high HP. She also possesses buff tiles that give a 25% ROF buff to a single AR, which, while not the best, can be appreciated by Damage self-buffing ARs.

  • KLIN’s Skill has her throw a molotov, which will do a large amount of damage over time thanks to her good enough Damage stat. Unfortunately, her limited availability makes hard to justify raising her.

  • Skorpion is awarded at the start of the game, Vector is a common 5 star Commanders can acquire and Uzi has a very good Mod. With molovot SMGs being not as important as they used to, KLIN simply fails to make a case for herself cost-wise and Damage-wise

PP-19
  • PP-19 is arguably a slight upgrade to PPS-43, but thanks to a lower Base damage, and more limited Tile Buffs, struggles to stand out from her competitor
  • Like other Hand Grenades PP-19 had a larger AoE than than a Molotov, but lower Multipliers and no Damage over Time Effect which can leave enemies with a fraction of their health remaining, undercutting
  •  PP-19 struggles to stand out from the competition beyond her single Damage tile.
EVO 3
  • EVO 3 has the lowest Damage stat out of all Grenadiers and SMGs in general, a nearly useless Accuracy Buff for 1 AR, and while she has high HP and an okay Evasion stat, this does not make up for her deficiencies.

  • EVO 3’s Skill has her throw a Hand Grenade, which are usually explicitly worse than Molotovs. Considering EVO 3 does not have much raw Damage this problem is only exacerbated.

  • EVO 3 also has the issue that PPS-43 does her job better, and is easier to obtain and link, since she can be crafted unlike a Login Reward T-Doll.

Micro Uzi
  • Known as Ugi because of her utterly useless tiles, Uzi is a lackluster Molotov SMG.
  • Has the same HP and Damage stats as Skorpion, her direct competitor.
  • Her main downfalls is having tiles that can’t buff properly ARs, and lower Evasion than Skorpion
Vector
  • She has 5 multipliers, high base Damage for a Grenadier SMG and does not rely on Dummy Links for her damage output.

  • Strong RoF tiles.

  • Best Dragger for 13-4.

STEN MkII
  • Hand Grenades are slightly worse than Molotovs.

  • Using Micro Uzi (given from Career Quests) and prepping her for her mod would be better.

Skorpion
  • Skorpion is given for free and is an alternative to Micro Uzi as an early offtank.
MP40
  • MP40 has a respectable Damage stat of 29.

  • You should be using your free Uzi instead.

PP-2000
  • PP-2000 has a respectable Damage stat of 30.

  • You should be using your free Uzi instead.

PPS-43
  • PPS-43 has a very strong Damage stat of 33.

  • You should be using your free Uzi instead.

PPSh-41
  • Being a 2 star Grenadier, PPSh-41 suffers from the rarity multiplier
  • PP-19 exists
  • Her tiles never see use in a sane ARSMG
PP-19 MOD
  • PP-19 Mod improves on her biggest weakness: low HP, and low Damage.
  • Savage Instinct helps to finish off low HP enemies, with a side of useful buffs. Being tied to her dummy links does put some limits on her usage.
  • Unfortunately, while a good Upgrade, PP-19 struggles to provide compelling reasons to upgrade her over other Dolls.

DPS

T-Dolls with Damage increasing skills.

SR-3MP
  • While SR-3MP has above average HP, Damage, and RoF, she has poor Evasion which hurts her capability to dodge tank. For this reason, she should not be used in conventional AR+SMG Echelons which rely on dodge tanking.

  • SR-3MP’s Skill is unique in that although she’s an SMG, she self-buffs her Damage by a whole 260%, putting her damage output on par (if not better than) some ARs.

  • Just like ARs, SR-3MP relies on Dummy Links to maintain her high damage output, and when combined with her low Evasion, this does make her Skill and stat synergy somewhat of a double-edged sword.

  • SR-3MP’s formation tiles buff both RoF and Crit Rate to all three tiles behind her, making her tiles one of the best to buff ARs with.

  • Though SR-3MP does require team support to truly shine, her damage output makes her one of the best damage-dealing focused SMGs.

SCW
  • SCW has a high Damage stat, but fairly mediocre HP and Evasion. Her incredibly weak tile buff gives a 6% Damage and 10% ROF buff to one AR.

  • SCW is one of the few SMGs with a Damage increasing Skill, and though it has a somewhat high percentage of 150%, it comes out rather late into battle due to its Initial Cooldown. It also splits its potency between a Damage buff and a small Evasion boost, and lasts just as long as SR-3MP’s Skill, making SCW worse than her.

  • Unfortunately, Direct Fire SMGs are not in high demand, and couple with her particularly costly farm makes SCW a very lackluster Direct Fire SMG enough to make SV-98 cry

Honey Badger
  • While Honey Badger has above average HP, a very high Damage stat, and an Evasion self-buff, the split between offense and defense on her skill causes her to fall behind in both categories.

  • Badger's 20% Damage and Crit Rate tile buff is excellent, with exceptional coverage due to her unique tile positioning. This is by far her greatest strength that is effectively uncontested by other offtanks.

  • Though Badger does possess better defensive stats than SR-3MP, her substantially lower Skill Damage multiplier and equal vulnerability as a frontline unit will cause her offensive performance to pale in comparison.

Overall, Exusai isn’t a bad doll at all. She is just incomplete. And the problem with that is that it makes her fall behind. For newer players, she will definitely be interesting, but for late content, there will be much better options.
VP1915
  • Another Direct Fire SMG, one must wonder why MICA even bothered releasing her
  • With the ARSMG meta long gone, SMGs are often used for their defensive capacities in ARSMG teams, or fitted in RFHG teams altogether
  • In the end, there’s little room for VP1915 to actually be fielded

Non-DPS Off

T-Dolls with tiles designating them to be an off tank, but no damaging skill.

Spectre M4
  • Spectre M4 possesses below average HP and average Evasion, neither of which help her ability to tank.

  • Spectre M4’s buff tile is average -- although it gives a powerful Damage buff to ARs, she only has a single buff tile. This causes Spectre to lack efficiency and utility.

  • Spectre’s Evasion self-buff Skill shows below average performance. Due to its long Initial Cooldown combined with the presence of enemies with high Accuracy in the later stages of the game, it is outclassed by other Skills.

TMP
  • TMP has one of the worst HP stats among T-Dolls – tied with IDW, and only beat out by FMG-9. Her Evasion stat is also notably much worse than both.

  • While TMP has much better Tile Buffs than IDW and FMG-9 – a decent 15% Damage increase and a mediocre 20% Accuracy buff – to get the most out of her two tiles she has to be placed in an Offtank position, which could be much better filled by a Grenadier or another DPS SMG.

  • TMP's Skill increases her Evasion by 120%, but its Initial Cooldown of 6 seconds makes it come out very late into the fight. Moreover, since Evasion does not scale well with later enemy's Accuracy, this Skill quickly becomes useless.

JS 9

JS 9 is an evasion tank first acquired in the Springtime Operation Point Event that has buff tiles perfect for an offtank position but serving as a good main evasion tank in role. She is suitable for a main tank position as well, although her tile buff will not cover the AR in position 7 when used as a main tank.

JS 9 has slightly below average base HP, but makes up for it with one of the highest base evasion stats for an SMG. With a +30% crit rate and +18% rate of fire tile buff that can buff all 3 ARs from an offtank position, she has one of the best off tank tile buffs in the game.

JS 9's skill is rather unique, buffing her damage and/or evasion based on the number of enemy groups at the time of skill activation.

The way it works is, with 1 group of enemies left, she will have 3 stacks of damage buff, which are multiplicative. With 3 stacks, her skill gives a 337.5% multiplier to her damage for 5 seconds. (150% * 150% * 150% = 337.5%).

Her damage buff with 3 stacks is pretty high, almost matching that of SR-3MP. Nevertheless, with a skill ICD of 6 seconds, we would advise against thinking of JS 9 as a DPS SMG.

For every additional group of enemies left on skill activation, she instead gets 1 fewer stack of damage and 1 additional stack of evasion, up to 6 stacks of evasion for 7 groups of enemies. With 3 groups of enemies, she will have 1 stack of damage and 2 stacks of evasion.

At 4 groups of enemies, she has 3 stacks of evasion buff = 246% multiplier. With 86 base evasion and 35 more from a maxed T-Exo, this puts her at over 300 Evasion. (86 + 35 = 121, 121 * 2.46 = 298, plus 5%+ affection bonus). This puts her EVA above MP7's, who has one of the strongest EVA skills in the game.

Overall, JS9 is well suited for tanking in fights where her ICD isn't a problem, as she can achieve the highest Evasion in the game with enough stacks on her skill.

PM-9

Another member of the G&K Power Ranger squad has assembled! This time, the yellow ranger PM-9 has arrived as a free 5★ SMG event reward. This plucky little submachine gun makes for a great defensive off-tank choice with a couple of nifty quirks.

Statistically, her Evasion is some of the highest in the SMG category. Her skill, Phantasmal Dark Force, exemplifies this even further by doubling her Evasion. During her skill, all attacks will also deal two instances of damage, granting her an interesting niche against enemies which reduce their damage taken such as Orthrus’. She also has good off-tank tiles.

PM-9 does have a couple of drawbacks. Her skill reduces her damage and accuracy, so dealing two instances of damage is not as big of a DPS increase and one might initially think. Her role is still primarily geared towards defensive play as a result. Her HP is also below average for SMGs.

All in all, PM-9 will serve as a worthwhile addition to the rosters of most commanders. With the need for defensive off-tanks becoming more common as the game progresses, PM-9 will be a welcome choice that can still offer more than just her tankiness.

Type64
  • Type 64 has below average HP and Evasion, and her other stats don’t make her a particularly good damage dealer either.

  • Her buff tiles are below average, providing a 20% RoF buff to only one AR. As a good amount ARs can already buff their own RoF, this buff is wasted on many of them.

  • Although the Stun Grenade is decent in the early game, as battles get shorter its 5 second Initial Cooldown and 1 second throwing time makes it significantly less effective than Smoke Grenades. It also doesn’t work on bosses, limiting its utility.

KH2002
  • Summons a dog that only inherits KH2002’s base stats and cannot be buffed.
  • Her DPS is okay in a vacuum, but it has a lot of issues that make her hard to use.
SP9
  • Team-wide 0s icd shield and icd reduction for passive, enemy flat damage reduction for active
  • Very useful supporting tank

Shield

T-Dolls that have a shield skill. Note, this skill is not very good for general use due to a long Initial Cooldown and lasting a relatively short amount of time.

Thompson
  • Thompson has one of the highest HP values of all SMGs, but also has one of the lowest Evasion meaning she will take some more hits than other SMGs.

  • One of three Force Shield SMGs, when you need this niche she is an option for this.

Vigneron M2
  • Vigneron M2 is a weird 4* SMG with meh survival stats
  • Disables the ability to move dolls in exchange for immunity to damage under 20 for a very short uptime
