Passive: Regular attacks fire 2 shots that deal two instances of 0.5x damage. If two shots hit simultaneously, they deal an additional amount of damage equal to 5% of the target's lost health (this cannot exceed 5x of own damage stat).

Active: Increase the damage of 2 shots by 1x, while also increasing the additional damage to 10% of lost health (this cannot exceed 5x of own damage stat). While the skill is in effect, attacks against targets with less than 50% HP cannot miss. Skill duration: 5 seconds.

Equipment

Overview

Derringer is the newest addition to the DPS HG niche, which Python and Deagle dominate. Thus, she can be looked at through two different lenses: as a support DPS in an unconventional RFHG team, and as an option for cheap farming.

As a support DPS HG, Derringer not only lacks the great tiles both Deagle and Python have (24% Damage versus 30% Damage, and lacks Crit Rate buffing entirely), but she also has a weirdly shaped tile where she’d only buff one RF if positioned on Pos 4 or 7. Because Pos 4 is hotly contested by Python, who has a better DPS and can buff RFs with her passive, and by dedicated support HGs with much better tiles than hers, and that buffs both RFs, Derringer would feel less pressure in RFHG teams that can afford an HG on Position 7. However, this position is often owned by Deagle, who has much better tiles and tile coverage than her.

As a DPS HG for cheap farming, Derringer presents an acceptable DPS  which means she can make up for a buffer HG in 5 HG teams. However, because 5HG teams are very niche in nature, levelling up Derringer solely for that purpose doesn’t make much sense.

Strengths

Adequate DPS in 5HG

She can adequately replace a buffer HG in 5HG setups, by making up for the lack of buffs with her DPS

Weaknesses

Average Tiles buffs

Her tiles buff Damage and Evasion. While the Damage buff is welcomed by RFs and ARs, the Evasion buff is mostly unwarranted, especially since newer content brings enemies with either too high Accuracy stats, or Skills that bypass Evasion

Bad Tile formation

Her Tetris tile format means that she only buffs one RF when position in Pos 4 or Position 7. Position 4 is hotly contested by dedicated support HGs that have significantly better tiles than her (SAA Mod, 5-7, Stechkin Mod, K5) and by Python, her direct competitor, which buffs both RFs, on top of having excellent tiles.

Lacks niche her rivals have

Deagle has a solid niche in dealing against shielded enemies (such as Patroller), while Python has a ballooning Damage that allows her to easily farm armored enemies, as well as support applications due to her buff reflection. Derringer lacks a niche where she can shine.

Team Options

As she is a bad option for traditional RFHG teams, Derringer’s best bet is on cheap farming comps (3 to 5HG compositions). And so, she’s best paired with the HGs often associated with said teams, like HS2000, P22, and even Python herself.

History/Trivia

Profile

A T-Doll whose petite stature often causes her teammates to lose sight of her. She has a sweet tooth, which she blames on the number of intellectual tasks that she has to do. The shield insignia on her head is actually a cookie. She likes hiding things in her sleeves and has very nimble hands, which makes her an expert in the sleight of hands. Every now and then, she would produce something seemingly out of thin air to startle others.
