Equipment

Special Equipment
Glory Light

Because Clear's Special Equipment improves her Skill Buff should be used at all times.

Overview

El Clear is an exclusive drop from DJMax “Glory Day” event collab and one of the strongest HGs in the game. With 30% Rof and 50% Accuracy tiles, she’s one of the few HGs in the game that can buff RoF for the DPS units while in Position 5, the others being PPK (who’s paper thin), Astra and Calico, and even among us those 3 she’s the only one besides Calico Mod that can adequately fit unusual team formations, such as RFHGs with HS2000 or C93 on Position 1, or Deagle on Position 7.

Tiles apart, what makes El Clear such a strong HG is her Skill, “Make It Better!” Clear stops attacking to start performing, where each performance buffs 30% Damage and Accuracy (40% each if her SPEQ, Glory Light is equipped). This makes her a strong option for exodias, and farming teams with M4 Mod. Even outside of those, however, she still rivals some of the best HGs in the game, and can get near-infinite uptime

Despite her mobility restriction when buffing her teammates, El Clear remains one of the strongest HGs in the game: Before 12-4E was released, she was the only HG that allowed a M4 Mod III to farm 10-4E with 2-star fairies. Veterans who have played the original DJMax run can greatly benefit from acquiring El Clear again, while new Commanders greatly benefit from acquiring a HG early on.

Strengths

Near infinite uptime

Depending on kiting, or how many dolls are fielded, Clear can essentially have an infinite uptime buffing the DPS units.

Position 5 RoF tile buffer

Clear is one of the few HGs in the game that can tile buff RoF from Position 5, others being Astra, Calico and PPK. If considering non-traditional RFHG teams, such as ones with C93, Deagle or HS2000, Clear is the only other RoF buffer to fit these teams adequately besides Calico Mod.

Excellent skill

40% Accuracy and 40% Damage with her SPEQ is a strong buff that no other Damage buffer in the game can achieve. It is what originally allowed Commanders to farm 10-4E with M4 Mod III and only 2 star fairies (Command and Artillery). The only doll that comes close to her buff is Px4, who buffs up to 50%,  when the echelon has an overflow of Crit Rate that lets them stay at 100% Crit Rate even with Px4 Skill’s demerit.

Above average Evasion

While Clear is squishy by nature, and her Skill restriction makes her even more unsuited to kite, having above average Evasion allows her to survive a bit more if the need to kite her arises.

Weaknesses

Low HP

HGs are already squishy by nature, but Clear is even more. Kiting with her is a last resort because of her low HP.

Skill restriction

While her skill dishes out a huge Damage buff, it also comes with movement restriction: Clear can’t be frequently kited otherwise she won’t be able to dish out more performances.

Availability

Clear is an excellent HG, but her availability is a big issue: she can only be obtained during the DJMax collaboration event.

Full Analysis

El Clear is a 1 star HG obtained upon completing “End of the Moonlight” in the DJMax collaboration event, “Glory Day”. Stats wise, El Clear packs one of the lowest HP among the HGs in GFL, of 330. For comparison, Contender has 330 HP, Five-seveN has 315 HP, C93 has 315 HP, and PPK, owner of the lowest HP among HGs, has 285 HP. That, coupled with her Skill’s restriction that she must be standstill to keep activating her buffs, makes her unsuited for being placed on Position 5, 8 or 2. But, because she is one of the few HGs that can tile buff RoF on Position 5, 8 or 2, beside Calico Mod or PPK, one common strategy employed is to position her on Position 5 and, as soon as the battle starts, swap her with Position 4’s HG.

Besides her low HP, Clear has an above average Evasion of 88, which is higher than most of her Position 4’s and 5’s competitors like Calico Mod (77), SAA Mod (80), Stechkin Mod (69), and Grizzly (66), to name a few.

What makes El Clear such a unique HG is her Skill, “Make It Better!” When it’s activated, Clear will stop attacking and start performing. Each performance Clear will “randomly” buff an ally with 30% Rof and 30% Accuracy, 40% each if she is equipped with her SPEQ. However, Clear doesn’t randomly choose who she’ll buff, unlike what her Skill description says. At the activation of her Skill, Clear memorizes the DPS contribution of each doll, and buffs from highest DPS contributor to lowest. That means that, in a typical RFHG team, Clear will always buff the 2 RFs first before she ends up buffing the HGs.

However, it is possible to theoretically have infinite uptime on the DPS units by Kiting Clear when the first buff she applied is about to end, provided at least one RFs Cooldown Tiles affect Clear. This provides a minor advantage, as the window the second doll would not be buffed is around 3s long, but can be the difference for situations that demand the highest DPS output, such as ranking or dealing with deathstacks.

Because Clear cycles her buff among her teammates, it also is possible for a doll to be buffed again before the initial buff ends. Do note that her buff doesn't stack, so if she buffs a doll already buffed it’d only reset the duration. This is particularly useful for dolls that have passive skills based on receiving buffs, like ValMod and M500 Mod. Particularly, with ValMod, Clear can consistently activate her passive Skill 2 if there are only 3 dolls in the field. See the infographic below a comparison, and for the window to move Clear to make this happen.

Team Options

Clear can be fielded in two situations: first she is fielded on Position 4, just like Stechkin or 5-7. Her other use isbeing fielded on Position 5 and, as soon as the battle starts, she swaps places with the HG on Position 4, so Commanders aren’t forced to kite her, and thus prevent her from using her Skill consistently. Because her tiles buffs RoF and her skill buffs Accuracy, she is welcomed both by Damage Self Buffer RFs, and RoF Self-Buffer RFs;
