Equipment
Overview
Mk48 is a solid MG because of her decent stats and a great Skill.
Mk48’s stats, first of all, are all-around solid. Her Damage stat, at 90, is above average for MGs, and while her Accuracy is only average, it is compensated for in her Skill. Despite having a lower Damage stat than the two notable other MG with her Skill, Mk48 deals more damage than them thanks to having one more round in her magazine. Mk48’s magazine size isn’t the biggest, however, even having one less bullet in her clip than PK, a doll of the same rarity as her.
The highlight to Mk48’s kit is not her stats, though, but rather her Skill. Perhaps most importantly, her Skill has a 3 second Initial Cooldown, which allows it to activate within the short span of a typical battle involving MGs. The Skill itself is also great, helping make up for several inherent weaknesses of MGs in general. These qualities when put together make Mk48 a solid unit who is worth investment, especially if a passive Skill MG barring Negev is not available.

Strengths
Solid Stats
Mk48 has above average Damage on top of average Accuracy, which is an overall solid combination for an MG.
Great Skill
Mk48’s Skill is the strongest version out of the three variations present in the kits of LWMMG, FG42, and M1919A4. Its short cooldown makes it the second best Skill for MGs to have after passive Skills.
Weaknesses
10-round magazine
Mk48’s magazine only contains 10 rounds. While this is a high amount compared to the other MGs with her Skill, compared to all other MGs, this can be a little lackluster.
Full Analysis
Mk48 has a well-rounded kit, making her one of the best MGs outside the MGs with passive Skills.
Unlike many other MGs, Mk48 has relatively good stat distribution. MGs tend to have worse stat distributions than the other two offensive types of dolls due to having one main offensive stat that they scale off of, Damage, instead of both Damage and RoF. Many MGs have a decent portion of their stat total allocated into their RoF, which is near useless for them since they will finish a battle within a matter of seconds regardless. For this reason, Mk48’s average RoF stat gives her extra stat points to allocate into her relatively high Damage, therefore allowing her to do her job more effectively. While Mk48 does have average Accuracy at best, the 70% buff to Accuracy her Skill provides helps her to compensate and avoid impact on her DPS. Finally, Mk48’s magazine capacity is neither very good nor very bad -- her 10 rounds per magazine is the best among the dolls who possess her Skill, but compared to some other 4 star MGs like PK it is a bit lacking. This makes her magazine capacity is slightly above average at best. While not a downside, it’s not a strong positive either.
The main factor that sets Mk48 apart from other MGs, however, is not her stats, but rather her Skill. The biggest downside of most MG skills is the long Initial Cooldown that prevents them from seeing use in normal battles involving them, but Mk48’s 3 second Initial Cooldown prevents her from having this issue. In fact, her Skill’s cooldown is only second to passive Skill MGs, which have no cooldown to speak of. And while this short Initial Cooldown is the most important strength of her Skill, the Skill’s effects themselves aren’t something to scoff at either. During its uptime of 6 seconds, Mk48’s Skill turns all of Mk48’s shots into critical shots and buffs her Accuracy by 70%. Not only does this allow Mk48 to forgo an Accuracy-increasing ITI scope, it also allows her to use a VFL Crit Scope for higher damage output. The guaranteed crit is also helpful as well -- as MGs only have a base Crit Rate of 5%, they are less likely to crit than other dolls, even with a max VFL scope equipped. By giving Mk48 guaranteed critical hits, her Skill allows her to make up for this inherent weakness of MGs without using a VFL.
All in all, with both solid stats and a great Skill, Mk48 is a good fit in any SGMG Echelon. If a full suite of passive Skill MGs are not available, then Mk48 is a great choice to fill a slot.

Team Options
SGs With Damage Buffs
Unlike many other MGs, Mk48 does not require Accuracy buffs -- her Skill is enough to make any further Accuracy buffs almost pointless. For this reason, it’s best to go all-in on buffing her Damage. Some great SGs that provide Damage buffs are KSG and M37.
HGs With Damage Buffs
As stated above, Mk48 only really needs Damage buffs. A few HGs that provide potent Damage buffs are SAA, Grizzly, and Mk23.
MGs
As Mk48 neither gives nor receive buffs from other MGs, it does not matter which MGs she’s used with. Some phenomenal MGs are MG5, PKP, and PK.
