Equipment

Overview

Type 92, while having an average kit when looking at each element individually, ends up becoming much worse when everything is put together.

Being an HG, T92 finds most of her value in her buff tiles and her Skill. Her buff tiles are unique in that she buffs everyone around her, allowing her to be placed anywhere in an Echelon, though the buffs themselves are lacking. While Evasion and Accuracy aren’t horrible buffs, they lack priority compared to Damage and RoF. Her Skill is also decent at best, buffing both RoF and Damage by 10% -- this only contributes more to the overall to T92’s lack of specialty, however, leading to an all in all mediocre unit.

Strengths

Wide Tile Coverage

T92 has the widest tile coverage in the game, causing her to buff every single doll around her.

Decent Skill

T92 buffs both Damage and RoF by a little bit with her Skill. While it isn’t amazing, is better than many other HG Skills.

Weaknesses

Mediocre Tile Buffs

T92 provides Accuracy and Evasion buffs in her tiles, two buffs that are ultimately almost always inferior to Damage and RoF buffs

No Specialty

T92 provides buffs to four different stats through her Skill and buff tiles which makes her hard to fit in many Echelons.

Full Analysis

Type 92 is mediocre not because of a particular element of her kit, but rather because each individual element has terrible synergy with each other.

Type 92’s Skill and buff tiles, by themselves, are pretty average. She has unique buff tiles in that she has one of the widest tile coverages ingame, buffing every single unit in a one tile radius from her. This is a great positive, as it increases her flexibility immensely -- she’s not locked to one slot in the team, and can perform all roles… or, at least, she would if she could. Both her HP and Evasion are lacking, even amongst HGs, however, so she will have a hard time placed as a tank. Even discounting this, her Evasion and Accuracy buffs themselves are mediocre. The values for the buffs aren’t bad at all -- she provides 50% Accuracy and 40% Evasion, the highest Evasion buff provided by an HG -- but the problem is that neither of them are particularly important in an Echelon. While a small amount of these buffs as a bonus would be nice, the lack of RoF and Damage the offer make T92 objectively worse than some of her her peers.

Another important part of Type 92’s kit is her Skill, which buffs the team’s RoF and Damage by 10%. While this is indeed a small value, this Skill still provides both Damage and RoF buffs, which was what T92’s tile buffs are lacking. This would be great, except the potency of this Skill is far too low to fully compensate for the lack of RoF and Damage buffs in her tiles, and its high Cooldown that means it will not have much of an impact. In fact, T92’s Skill actually works somewhat negatively for her kit -- despite the fact that her Skill itself isn’t that bad -- by not granting her a specific area of specialization.

The main reason Type 92 is so bad, though, is because of the terrible synergy between her buff tiles and Skill. As previously mentioned, no Echelon really needs such powerful Accuracy and Evasion buffs and such weak Damage and RoF buffs. Despite this, if Type 92 gave a strong buff to one stat with her Skill, she may have been able to somewhat make up for her buff tiles and have seen limited use in a few Echelons. Because she provides buffs to four different stats though -- and her most useful buffs are so weak -- T92 becomes a jack of all trades and a master of none, which is exactly what Echelons don’t need. Type 92 is the opposite of many dolls in that her she doesn’t suffer from being too specialized, Instead, she has the opposite problem -- she suffers because she is not specialized enough.

All in all, Type 92 is a mediocre unit who doesn’t fit well in any Echelon. Despite her amazing buff tile formation, most if not all teams will struggle to find a reason to use her.

Team Options

ARs

As none of Type 92’s buffs are powerful enough to be too much for any AR, any good AR can be used with her. G41, G11, and Type 97 are great examples.

SMGs

All SMGs appreciate Evasion buffs, and therefore any SMG can be used with Type 92. Some examples of SMG are UMP45, G36C, and SR-3MP.

HGs With Dual Buffs

As Type 92 does not provide a powerful buff in any stat, at least one more HG has to retain dual buffs in order to make up for the lack of buffs that Type 92 provides. Some HGs that can be used are Stechkin, Five-seveN, and M950A.

RFs

Type 92 barely benefits any RF she’s put with, thus she can be put with practically any RF. Some good RFs are WA2000, SVD, Lee Enfield, and M14.

SGs With Accuracy/Damage Buffs

MGs appreciate Damage and Accuracy buffs the most -- therefore, SGs with Damage/Accuracy buffs are the best in any given SGMG Echelon. Some great SGs are KSG and M37.

MGs

Most MGs appreciate the Accuracy buff, therefore almost all MGs can be used with Type 92 without many problems. Keep in mind that there are MGs, such as LWMMG and M1919A4, that do not need Accuracy buffs due to the nature of their Skills. Some good MGs that can be used with T92 are MG5, PKP, and PK.
