Going Global: Love Live! School Idol Festival All Stars!

Publisher Bushiroad has announced the global launch of its mobile rhythm action game: Love Live! School Idol Festival All Stars.  Developed by KLab Inc. and originally released in Japan on September 26, 2019, the current global expected launch date is in Spring 2020.  It is described as “the ultimate idol rhythm rpg game”, allowing players to customize their idols.

All Stars is a spinoff of Love Live! School Idol Festival, which was released in Japan in 2013, and was localized to English on May 11, 2014.  It can currently be found on the iOS and Android App Stores (links can be found below). I saw some information claiming that Love Live! School Idol Festival game progress could be imported into the All Stars spinoff to retain things like rank and progress.  Whether this is actually the case, and if it will be true for the global game as well, I cannot say.

All Stars tells a slightly different story than what you may have seen in other Love Live! media. In All Stars the 27 idols from the μ's, Aqours and the newly introduced Nijigasaki High School Idol Club are in the same year and work together.  The new 9 member Nijigasaksi Club performs the opening theme: “Tokimeki Runners”

The main story line will be a familiar one:  a Nijigasaki student is inspired by a live joint μ's and Aqours performance, and decides to start a school idol group of their own.  However, they discover the existing school idol group is about to fail, and so the journey of rebuilding begins.

All Stars is a Rhythm Action RPG that features complete songs and 9-person formation dances.  The school idols mature through club activities and by a tree-based growth system, enabling players to develop their idols as they desire.  Individual member stories titled “The Story We Realise With You” are unique to All Stars and let you deepen your bonds with your favorite members.
