Overview

  • The third exhibition match for 2021’s Battle in New York features the three Gorgon Sisters. The stage’s primary theme is that of gender-based gimmicks. Both Stheno and Euryale are well-known anti-Male Servants; at the same time, the stage involves various gimmicks targeting Female Servants as well, such as the Gorgon sisters absorbing female Servants’ HP to restore their own health.
  • Initially, only Stheno and Euryale are on the field (both having two HP bars), with Medusa (no Break, but with a higher HP pool than her sisters) being summoned once either of the two reaches Break. Medusa will then proceed to cast Taunt on herself, and importantly, apply a 100% Damage Resistance buff on her sisters, which will only be removed once Medusa is defeated.
  • Each of the Gorgon Sisters also possess 100% Card Performance Resistance in accordance with their NP type: Arts for Euryale, Buster for Stheno, and Quick for Medusa. They also come with On-Death buffs, which will grant a weaker version of their Card Performance Resistance buff (50% instead of 100%) to their surviving sisters. It should be noted that Card Performance Resistance also affects the NP gain and Star Generation of that particular card type.
  • Breaking both Euryale and Stheno will cause Debuff Success Rate and Special Attack [Charm] buffs to be applied to all sisters for 10 turns, making the fight at this point extremely hazardous for Male Servants.
  • A general tip is to time Euryale’s and Stheno’s defeats to be as close to each other as possible, minimizing the impact of their On-Death buffs.
  • The sisters also share a lot of traits, such as Divine, Female, and their Heaven attribute. This can be exploited by using damage dealers who can deal supereffective damage against these traits.

Team Recommendations

  • Servants without gender attributes (such as Enkidu or Qin Shi Huang) are excellent choices, as they can neither be affected by the stage’s anti-Female gimmicks nor the sisters’ anti-Male ones. Both Servants can even solo the stage if deemed necessary.
  • As always, Arjuna (Alter) is a very (if not the most) powerful damage dealer choice, as he is capable of 2-turning the stage even at NP1 (see the Clear Videos section for the composition details).
  • It is highly recommended to borrow either Arjuna (Alter) or Enkidu if you do not have any of the aforementioned damage dealers, and fill in the support roles with available Servants.
  • Otherwise, it is recommended to use damage dealers who can deal significant damage through normal cards (i.e. those with affinity towards Criticals), or alternatively, to use two damage dealers with Buster and Arts NP types: the first will be used to deal with Medusa and either Euryale/Stheno, and the second will finish up the final sister.
  • Offensive compositions (such as those relying on Arjuna (Alter) should deploy as many damage supports as possible (Scathach-Skadi, Merlin, Tamamo no Mae, Zhuge Liang). Chen Gong is also a powerful option, helping the team deal with Stheno as well as allowing more supports to come in faster on top of providing a decent damage buff.
  • Stalling can be difficult due to the plethora of HP drains and debuffs, which means that Masters who seek to fight a battle of attrition should have a lot of Debuff Removal/Immunity ready, as well as loads of healing and hard defensive tools to guard against Medusa’s and Euryale’s offensive NPs.
