Overview

  • Defeating the boss in this form is entirely optional and not suggested for beginners. This is the boss’s form when Melt’s Death Whip is not purchased from the KP shop. For her other form, see the Beast III/R (Weakened) Boss Guide.

  • This fight will be long! Additionally, for phones of lower specs, this fight is also graphically intensive, and loading times may be long.

  • Personal Opinion: This form could actually be considered less difficult to defeat than trying to beat the weakened version without a single extra purchase from the KPS shop. For an extra challenge, Masters could thus try their hand at a "third' Challenge Quest.

  • Boss Fully Invincible for First 3 Turns: The first three turns of this encounter are essentially scripted. Beast III/R has full damage reduction, taking 0 damage from any source for the first three turns. Luckily, Beast III/R will not attack and will instead self-buff (including 10-turn Invincibility) and repeatedly drain the entire front line’s NP Gauge by 20% every turn.

  • Boss Transforms on Turn 3 with Full NP: The boss will transform into the Devilish Bodhisattva on the third turn and will have a FULL NP Gauge. She will unleash her smile (NP) upon your party the next turn she is able to.

  • NP Damage Boost for First NP: To cause maximum pain for the front line of the party, Beast III/R will come with an unremovable NP Damage Up buff that works 1 time.

  • Boss NP Removes Buffs BEFORE Damage: All forms of buffs, including Evade, Invincibility, and Guts are removed before Beast III/R’s NP deals damage, rendering them ineffective for anything besides the boss’ normal attacks. The best way to survive damage from her NP is to stack debuffs on Beast III/R (ATK Down, NP Damage Down).

  • Charm + NP Charge: Beast III/R may randomly choose to use “Multi-Colored Tranquility,” which will charm a random party member and charge her own NP gauge by 1. As a result, she can NP earlier than expected. In addition, after breaking her first Break bar, she can randomly stun a target as well.

  • Each HP Bar Break inflicts NP / Skill Seal on party: Upon breaking Beast III/R’s HP bar, she will inflict the entire party with NP Seal and Skill Seal for one turn, and either a Buster (Bar 1), Quick (Bar 2), or Arts (Bar 3) debuff for 10 turns. Be ready to only have access to normal cards and no skills on the turn her HP bar is broken.

  • Boss has 5-Charge NP Gauge: Beast III/R’s one form of mercy is that she chooses to show her smile sparingly. The long NP charge bar on the boss gives the party more breathing time to stack ATK Down or NP Damage Down debuffs in time to withstand her NP turns.
  • AoE Attacks: Next to her skill spam, Kiara's basic attacks deal AoE damage although they don't hit particularly hit unless she crits. Because Berserkers and Avengers take neutral damage, their 5% defensive NP Gain is highly useful.
  • Long Fight: At the end of the day, this fight becomes a massive back-and-forth between incoming damage from Kiara and sustaining the team with healing. Once a Master has figured out how to outlast her damage, the rest of the fight will be relatively straightforward. Do note that the final stretch has Kiara self-buff her attacks with some very dangerous skill sealing effects, so it is best to clear her final HP Bar ASAP!

Team Recommendations

  • The basic team structure is generally as follows:

  • The first three Servants contain at least 1 Servant with buff removal, and 2 sacrificial Servants (preferably with debuffs). These Servants will perish.

  • The backline contains the actual team: 3 Servants that have some combination of ATK/NP Damage Down, Healing, NP Gauge Support, Debuff Cleansing and NP Drain Support

  • Beast III/R Class: Takes neutral damage and deals neutral damage to almost every class (even Berserkers). The only classes that are advantageous are either Alter Ego or Mooncancer, of which Mooncancer is unavailable the first time around outside of Support.
    • Gold Alter EgoGold Mooncancer: Deal 1.2x damage and receive 1x damage from Beast III/R.
    • [All Other Classes]: Deal 1x damage and receive 1x damage from Beast III/R.
  • 0% NP Buff removal required: A buff removal Servant is REQUIRED in the front line unless the party can handle 10 turns of Invincibility on the boss (plus an array of other massive buffs). Using CEs that Ignore Invincibility is an option but is not recommended. Since she constantly drains the party’s NP Gauge for the first 3 turns, it is useful to bring someone who has buff removal either on a skill (Jack the Ripper, Martha, Avenger of Shinjuku, Tristan) or an instant NP battery skill (Medea).

  • Use Buff Removal on first turn after transformation. Ideally this is done immediately after Beast III/R’s transformation (turn 4), as she will otherwise eliminate the front line.

  • Healing Support Essential: Outside of NP turns, Beast III/R deals a hefty amount of neutral damage (no classes resist Beast III/R’s attacks). Some form of healing will be required to sustain the party, especially if the frontline is eliminated at the start of the battle. Ideally this healing is instant and not over time (that can be removed by Kiara).

  • Debuff Cleansing Recommend: Each turn Kiara will reduce the debuff resistance of all team members. Thus, as she gains access to more and more dangerous skills that lock down the team, debuff cleansing becomes essential. In addition, the card debuffs on Break (especially the Arts one) can cause havoc in terms of generation if they are not dealth with in a timely fashion.

  • ATK / NP Damage Down debuffs Recommended: In order to help survive Beast III/R’s NP, since buffs are not useful against her NP, Servants that can stack ATK Down and NP Damage Down debuffs are highly useful in order to survive. A total of 50% effective damage debuff makes Kiara's NP a lot more manageable. Nightingale is a standout in this case, she is able to reach 50% NP Damage Down with a single NP while providing much-needed healing. Since she does not take double damage from Beast III/R,and gains NP rapidly from defensive NP Gain, she also has a better time surviving.

  • NP Gauge Support is helpful: If Healing or ATK/NP Damage Down debuffs are tied to a Servant’s NP, then some form of NP Gauge Support will help ensure NPs are ready when they are needed. Tamamo stands out here as capable of supplying both healing and NP charging at the same time.

  • NP Drain: Beast III/R’s bar is 5 units long and draining her NP bar can greatly reduce incoming damage. She can still charge her NP, but especially Arts Servants with a drain on NP can form stalling teams that greatly reduce the overall damage taken indirectly. It also buys valuable time for key NPs to be charged before she gets to launch her's.

  • Any defense buffs, Evade or Invincibility skills should be used to reduce the damage taken from her basic attacks, especially if she has multiple Critical Buffs active. All buffs are removed on her NP turn after all.

  • Nightingale & Medea (Lily): With massive healing and debuff clearing potential on their NP, these two Servants are incredibly effective at keeping the party healthy and in good shape. Nightingale especially can carry the fight, although more support than one of these two is required.
