Overview

  • This is a single-enemy boss stage featuring Ivan the Terrible on his terrifyingly large elephant. The boss Ivan retains the same skillset as his Servant counterpart except for his NP, which deals AoE damage and increases the party’s skill cooldowns by one turn.
  • An important gimmick in this stage, however, is that the Master’s Mystic Code skills are changed into Golem skills. Golem skills have a noticeably lower cooldown (in particular, the first skill which has a measly 3 turn downtime) and very powerful effects, so do not hesitate to use them when needed!
  • Ivan’s skillset features a skill with Invincibility, as well as another with Buster Performance Up and Critical Rate Up. It is recommended to save the Golem first skill’s buff removal to counter either one of these skills, especially the latter as it lasts for three turns.
  • Meanwhile, Ivan’s normal attacks are not that impressive in comparison to his size, but his critical hits are AoE, and can take a decent chunk out of non-Assassin Servants’ HP pools. It is recommended to use the third Golem skill’s heal if the party receives a significant amount of damage, otherwise, the skill can also be used after Ivan’s NP.
  • His aforementioned NP deals even more damage than his criticals, but even then, Assassins are generally capable of tanking it unless they were already at low HP to begin with.
  • Using the second Golem skill (which gives a party-wide defense buff) is enough to make his NP non-lethal for the most part, but it is important to note that on each Break, Ivan charges his NP gauge by 1. This sometimes allows him to unexpectedly NP in combination with his own NP Charge skill, so in order to ensure the party’s survival, it is recommended to keep them at as high HP as possible once he reaches 3/5 NP Gauge.
  • Aside from charging his NP, Ivan applies party-wide debuffs upon Break (Decrease HP Recovery on first Break, and Decrease NP Gain on the second). These debuffs generally pose little problem, but may make the difference in crucial moments.

Team Recommendations

  • Any single-target Assassin would work well in this stage, and depending on the NP and skill level, even solo runs are not that difficult to pull off for those with higher survivability such as First Hassan. In terms of being a primary damage dealer, Jack the Ripper is also an excellent choice thanks to her debuff removal.
  • With the healing and defense up provided by the Golem skills, an Assassin-majority team should be able to survive through the stage with little problem. Still, a defensive support or two would greatly reduce the chance for failure, especially those featuring party-wide defense buffs.
  • For solo runs, CEs such as Holy Shroud of Magdalene work really well for this stage as Ivan is a Male.
