Overview

Arguably the most important Mystic Code of all, and the Mystic Code of choice for many Masters due its versatility, ease of use, and how it's basically always useful.

The Order Change ability in particular on the Chaldea Combat Uniform enables a staggering variety of strategies due to its ability to switch out a Servant from the backline to the frontline. The other two skills are also very versatile as well, providing a very reliable single target boss stun and a party-wide Attack Buff.

Although extremely versatile, Order Change does become useless after losing three servants in a fight. Skill cooldowns, buffs, and debuff durations remain static on a switched servant as well, which can be a double edged sword.

Skills Explanation:

  • Buff All Allies grants an up to 30% party-wide attack buff, which is a notable increase in damage for offensive Noble Phantasms chains. Still, the shared nature of the buff typically yields less of a performance increase than equivalent single target buffs from other Mystic Codes.

  • Gandr is a highly reliable, single target stun which can be used to stall out the boss for one turn. However, Gandr will not affect debuff immune enemies, or can be resisted by particularly magic resistant enemies. Note that in rare end-game cases certain bosses may have hidden passives that prevent stuns from working.

  • Order Change is the signature skill of the Mystic Code, with uses ranging from buff stacking (switching out a support with another support to get even more damage buffs), to preventing a crucial servant from being KO'd by moving him or her out of harm's way, and beyond, as its use is only restricted by the imagination of the user.

Notable Strategies and Users:

The effectiveness of this Mystic Code really depends on the player’s creativity and servant pool. Typically, especially early on in a Master's career, Order Change will be used more defensively.

For example, a Master can use Order Change to gain on-demand backline buffs that can save the team. Servants such as Mash, Merlin, David, and Waver are some of the notable examples.  Mash can redirect a Noble Phantasm and tank it (while providing additional defenses), while David can jump in and shield the team with his Harp of Healing. Merlin can provide the same protection, but vastly buff the team to boot!

However, once Masters are more comfortable and have a stronger roster, Order Change is commonly used to carry out buff stacking and NP charging strategies. Often it is a simple case of bringing in a Servant with powerful buffs or debuffs such as Elisabeth Bathory, Nero (Bride) or Tamamo-no-Mae to maximize the amount of NP damage in the final wave.

For advanced Masters, Order Change is used to farm quests most of all. Through a combination of tactical Servant deaths (read: Arash), Order Change and high level buff skills Masters can wipe out quests in 3 turns through the use of successive NPs and NP charging from supports like Zhuge Liang, Helena, and (once released Skadi). Order Change becomes essential to either bring in a new Servant to use their damaging NP immediately (Starting NP Gauge CEs are crucial) or to either charge an NP with a support or provide more damage buffs if a high damage threshold is required.

Leveling Value:

Only the attack buff scales well in value, while the other two skills’ benefits are level-independent. While the extra cooldown is useful, the high EXP cap and singular scaling effect make this Mystic Code decent to level up, but not truly necessary. However, given this Mystic Code’s general usefulness, it will probably be decently leveled up from constant passive usage anyway.
