[JP] Interlude Campaign 10

Submit Feedback or Error

Introduction

Following the end of the Summer 4 Event (and the frantic rush to use up as many Fever Tickets as possible), Delightworks released a new Interlude Campaign only a few hours later.

The Interlude Campaign coincides with some heavy updates to the game itself - including fewer restrictions such as allowing USB debugging now. The game seems to load faster on Android so far, and a full game download is also available (keep in mind that a full game download requires a 5GB+ download).

Anyway, Ishtar, Tesla and Enkidu received upgrades to their performance, so let's get started.

These Interludes are expected to hit the global Servers at the end of August/Early September 2021

An Gal Ta Ki gal Šè EX: An unexpected upgrade to Ishtar's NP, and one that is actually a rather clever one at that! But let's get the damage modifier out of the way first and see how Ishtar stacks up.

Ishtar has always been the go-to AoE Buster Archer versus monsters and enemies unaffected by the trait-bonus from Tesla and Gilgamesh. With this upgrade, Ishtar still deals lower NP Damage than either of them versus their trait targets, but the gap is much, much smaller. Coming in at at around 35.4k NP1 Damage, Ishtar will now be the 2nd highest AoE Damage Servant behind Iskandar.

No wonder, with a 70% Attack Up and 20% (Overcharge) Buster Performance buff. Considering Ishtar's basic attacks hit much harder than her competition, Tesla especially is at the risk of being overshadowed - despite his own Skill Upgrade.

But the clever part is the Instant Stars she creates now on NP. While she would love to use them on her burst turn, given her Overcharge and 1-turn Attack buff, missing the timing on her timed Attack buff is much less of a problem. Masters can launch her NP and then unleash massive critical damage the next turn with her delayed attack buff. This flexibility is pretty nice, especially if damage needs to be spread out.

All in all, a very nice upgrade, but one wonders whether Ishtar needed it all. She was, and always has been, just a solid Servant either way, even in the age of Skadi. Now, she is even better.

Tesla Coil A+: Witness the power of AC! No longer will Tesla be an unscrupulously selfish Servant, for now he will grant his allies NP Generation instead!

Sure, sure, but really, this is in a roundabout way, just another selfish buff for Tesla! After all, his best allies are supports who improve his performance (especially Buster ones!) and Support Casters especially scale incredibly well with NP Gain buffs.

NP Gain buffs do scale multiplicatively with Arts buffs and Arts passive after all - and of course plentiful use of Arts cards. Considering spamming his NP is what Tesla lives for, this works rather well.

It also works well with any NP-looping Servants who need to take care of wave 1 or 2 for example.

All in all, it's a decent buff, but nothing that completely changes what Tesla does, or what he ought to be used for. Just some additional power to a Servant that is already a solid Servant to try and keep up with the likes of Ishtar and Gilgamesh.

(Poor Napoleon...)

Enuma Elish A++: Having just stolen the spotlight curbstomping any Divine Servant during Nero Fest on the global server, Enkidu must not have been satisfied. Because if one though that Ishtar's buff was impressive, Enkidu's is even more so.

With an improvement to their NP Damage modifiers and a slight improvement to their pre-NP Defense Down, Enkidu now has an improved NP with 1.5x and 1.3x (Overcharge) scaling on top of Lancer modifiers. Which means...

That yes, Enkidu is now(at the moment of writing) the highest NP Damage Servant at NP1 in the game! Okay, only at NP1 (because Jeanne d'Arc (Alter) scales harder with NP Upgrades), and without any other shenanigans.

But, the increased Overcharge effect improves their overall basic attack performance a bit as well, and he has gained a new niche they share with MHXX: in their case, a 200% Special Attack boost (doubling his damage) against Threats to Humanity on NP. While the list of targets is very small, it does include some non-Servant enemies such as the Lostbelt final bosses, and boss versions of BB (Summer) and Gorgon. No doubt it will prove useful in the story content to come.

Given just how amazing Enkidu is at soloing, and how useful Enkidu has proven to be in Challenge Quests overall (especially for new Masters), Enkidu's only real demerit is the random nature of his Card Performance buffs, and his deck lay-out in a full team situation. Aspects that are hardly the end of the world.

A fantastic upgrade, and one that does justice to the companion of humanity's oldest hero.
