Gilgamesh or Ishtar?

So, I was wondering who is better gameplay wise. Better damage, better skills, better NP damage/gain, better crit star generation, better farmer/wave clearer, better for boss fights/challenge quests etc

Also, no comments on Ishtar being useless or defenseless please. It’s rather unhelpful.

I find it's useless to compare both monsters.
Just take your one of your favorite out of the two, since both is a premiere archer.

Simple, here is the comparison.
One is a female monster.
One is a male monster.
The difference is on gender.
Both have crazy level of gameplay quality.

Have you use Gilgamesh then? If yes you'll be using him a lot.
The same cases will happen for Ishtar.
Both is a meme, a level below Merlin and Waver in terms of gameplay alone.
Also you technically you don't need any ST or AOE archer, to be honest as both of them is too good.
Both offer you 3 in 1 roles:
- Boss killing
- AOE Wave clearing
- Farming

Just take who you like here, or do you want both? It's up to you.

I have Tristan and Chloe as my boss killers, but Gilgamesh/Ishtar/Tesla is just on a different level with them.
Tristan/Chloe always sitting at the back waiting my Gil to die.
That will be the the same with Ishtar.
Ishtar on the front, Tristan/Chloe never got the chance only have to wait Ishtar die.

If i have Gil then i don't need Ishtar and Tesla, if i have Tesla then i don't need Gil and Ishtar.
It's just as simple. 3 of them is too good as a servant, taking others servant roles at it's finest.
Basic ST and AOE roles on a single servants, simple yet effective.

I'm gonna just reply with a comment I made in a different set of questions:
Gil is certainly a behemoth when it comes to the archer scene, strong overall stats, good hits/NP gain - solid skills (His Collector skill noticeably improves with an interlude/strengthening quest) and a great AOE attack that decimates servant enemies. He's certainly something, however, that last bit is worth noting, his NP is still pretty strong but, overall if you're not fighting servants and are just farming an AOE beserker like Lancelot fits the bill well.

Ishtar is - at least from what I can tell a pretty strong Archer in her own right, a stronger Charisma buff, a strong NP gain with benefits (Like Drake), and a 50% ATK boost with delay. Her NP isn't as strong at first glance but, its buster boost is quite something. She's strong don't get me wrong but, her 50% buff kind of forces you to count the cards in the deck since if you don't you could miss a great attack time though it is on a 4-Turn cooldown.

Personally, I'd pick Gil due to waves of Servants being not too uncommon in the future, but, they're both solid archers.

Though it's worth noting that, they have the same 300% ATK modifier on regular enemies, the amount of ATK buffs Ishtar can boost herself with makes her devastating when fighting waves consisting of non-servant enemies. SO for a general farmer, point to Ishtar.

They both kind of falter in the defensive aspect as even Ishtar's second skill has a chance of missing her invulnerability. Again Damn RNG...

Bruh if you have any one of the 'Big Three' archers, Gilgamesh/Tesla/Ishtar you are pretty much set good for the rest of the game, atleast in the archer category

Gilgamesh is better on every single thing you said. If you compare any Archer with Gilgamesh, they lose.

It's become kinda of a meme, that everytime a new Archer comes out there's the guy saying "BUT Is he better than Gilgamesh?"...the answer is always no.

GIl is stronger than Ishtar for gameplay since his 3rd skill. Due to that in a critical team, Gil can either pour amazing critical buster damage to enemy, or spam np and star via brave chain
Ishtar's NP gain and star generation is also great. But just slightly lower than Gil.

But rolling for Ishtar is also good since she is Rin. Also her performance is also good. Typically
(1) Her debuff resistant is high due to Her inherent trait.
(2) Somehow has ability to avoid enemy NP. Gil has 0 ability for deference, rely on team's defensive buff. (Merlin:?)
(3) More instance charge.

These 2 servants together are also good in archer team.

Short Answer is Gilgamesh is more reliable and self sufficient. His kit is simple and direct. Dmg amp on charisma, NP gain buff and star weight buff. He already has high stats+high hit counts+ archer class star weight and a dmg amp on his NP. He does everything well and then buffs it up more. He does not need a team which is hos main advantage over Ishtar.

Ishtar theoretical does more dmg with stuff like double merlin and her mana burst jewel being stronger especially with a BB chain and all the buffs. But she requires more support for a less consistent result. Dosent means she bad. Because she is insane as well.

Its just that gilgamesh is literally the best in the game. And you dont need skill or planning to use him well. Just pop his skills, put some buffs and go to town.
