I'm wondering what everyone's personal top 5 (or 6, or 2, etc.) servants to grail are. I haven't used any grails yet and wanted to see what everyone in the community thinks first. Any reasoning is fine! (making 3- stars useful, personal favorites, or just for extra power.)
Well, wasteful as it may be from a cost VS benefit point of view, I mainly grail the servants that I like the most.
Like, I grail’d Artoria because she’s my favorite and my first SSR. I’m mostly saving up QP right now but following her will probably be
Brynhild
Drake
Raikou
Edmond Dantes
I grailed Nightingale, Lancelot, and Bedivere. Personally, I wish I had put a few towards Hercules, but it's honestly up to personal preference. Damage dealers tend to get the most out of grails, so an all-around top 5 would probably include Jalter, Cu Alter, Herc, Gilgamesh, and Saberlot.
Just grail whoever you like. The extra stats from the grails is not enough to make or break a servant.
Gameplaye wise, grailing berserkers, avengers, ruler, moon cancer, and lancer generally yield higher base stats.
Personally I grailed Robin Hood to 90 because I like his short animation ST NP nuke. I also have Culter at 100 because of his damage modifier. 1.1x from berserker base damage modifier, then 1.5x against most classes.
If I have a herc, I would grail him to 90.
Many people from my friends list grailed Jalter to 100 which I am not a big fan of. This is probably for the Merlin + Merlin + Jalter crit machine, but Jalter by herself is a average servant imo. With a 2x class damage modifier against Ruler and Berserker only.
She certainly does enough damage even without class advantage. She isn't versatile enough to do much else though

Waifu: Nero, Shishou, Seiba! (any one), Moedred, Traplord (need that quality succ)

Same as most, I would grail who I like. My priorities are Herc to 90 cos he deserves to be a 5*, Cu to 80 so he can have the gold border (and 75 isn't round enough for me), Ozy to 100 cos daddy, and either Saberlot for gameplay or Bedivere so he can be gold like the rest of the round table knights. Also, if I get him, I might grail Merlin to 100 just for the memes :^)
I agree. Heracles really might as well be a 5* at this point. Cu deserves to be a 4*.
Yeah, feels like they had to lower his stats and madness enhancement ranking for contrived plot reasons just to stop him being too OP.
And for real tho all OG servants from stay night deserve at least 4* status just by their recognition imo, but at least this way people can get servants they are familiar with more easily.
Right. That’s the reason he doesn’t have his 12 Labors and Nemean Lion Skin Noble Phantasm. Maybe that’s it. It’s entirely possible that all servants are slightly downgraded from their true capabilities to fit with Chaldea’s Summoning System (because MC is a noob)
Cu is Celtic Mythology’s greatest hero and a Demi-God with the third highest form of Divinity (counting Rank, not +/-) That’s a good point. But it would have been cooler to see Cu in the Starter 4* Gacha tbh
And yet, somehow, the greatest injustice is that Kojirou Sasaki, who fought an even match against Artoria despite being an Assassin rather than a Saber, is a 1*
Yeah, as part of his lore he is pretty much Musashi's rival. One star does not do him justice at all #JusticeForKojirou
Tbh I kinda just wanna see berserker Cu. This description is the most metal thing I have ever read:

I think that Cu Alter is supposed to be this Hulked Out version of Cu
If we assume that Cu has this ability all along but chooses not to use it, then it would make sense that Cu Alter (who’s by far more ruthless than his OG counterpart) wouldn’t hold back and would immediately resort to hulking out- thus why he looks like a dinosaur
That is a pretty metal description though. Damn. It makes Cu Alter look vaguely vanilla in comparison
Nah, Cu Alter is just Medb's wet dream specific to E Pluribus Unum, when Medb got the grail. The dinosaur part is the Curruid, whose bones were used by Scathach to make Gae Bolg.
That said, I think having Cu's actual berserker form in the game is a huge stretch; I want to see it, but even if DW does eventually add him, I doubt Type-Moon has the heart to keep his design faithful to the original considering how horrifying it would make Cu look lol

Now that I think about it though the closest thing in the game (design-wise) to warp-spasming Cu is probably Herc lol
Which, really, wouldn’t be too bad. Like I’d be cool with Berserk Cu if his design was a cross between OG Cu and Heracles
But, then again, I think OG Cu is the ideal version. (I’m not big on Cu Alter for much the same reason I do t care much for Lancer Artoria. Their personalities are too..different)
I grail only for waifu purposes. I got shuten to lvl 100, euryale to 90 and was planning on grailing Illya, but sadly she isn't ready to come home yet :(

Also grailed Cu to 80 and considering to 90 because lancer is still a weaker class in my lineup.
Got Herc to 90.
Considering Saberlot because he is so awesome to watch pound enemies. Haven't yet because saber is one of my strongest classes
I prefer to grail servants I love and know I'm gonna use a lot, I grailed vanilla Nero to 100 and FSN Cu to 80, I think next I'm gonna give 2 Kiritsugu and get Bride to 100

For me, there are my favorites that I want to grail out of love and then there are the ones that I would grail for love and gameplay.

I want to only grail 4 stars as much as I can since they benefit the most from grails. Of course, who knows if I'll ever get any of these aside from Gawain and Hans at this point.
