Overview

“Are you used to the Nautilus yet?”

The captain of the Nautilus finally makes himself summonable with the arrival of the Imaginary Scramble event. As a single-target Arts Rider, Nemo specializes in taking down certain specific targets. Fitting his role as captain of a ship, his power varies substantially depending on where and what he’s fighting. He won’t always shine, but in his favored terrain, he can be very powerful indeed.

Nemo gets a number of damage bonuses from field and enemy types, meaning Great Ram Nautilus, his Noble Phantasm, can potentially deal a lot of damage to a single enemy. The buffs on Voyager of the Storm and Guide for Travel also apply to Nemo’s allies, letting him increase the whole party’s damage output. Furthermore, Nemo has strong NP gain, along with multiple NP charge effects on Indefatigable, making him good at repeatedly using his Noble Phantasm.

Unfortunately, many of Nemo’s buffs are dependent on being on a Near Water or Imaginary Space field, meaning his damage and his support drop significantly outside of those situations. Nemo also has no defensive tools other than a single Guts effect, so he often needs protection to stay alive in hard fights. Additionally, despite being a Rider with relatively easy critical attack access, Nemo has few buffs that apply to critical hits and other normal attacks, leaving his normal attack damage fairly low.

Nemo is very situational. In fights where Nemo benefits from all of his specialty buffs, he is a very powerful single-target Servant. He also has value in cases where having two damage-dealers is useful, as Nemo can share his buffs with his allies. When Nemo does not get to use his field-based buffs, though, his performance is rather lackluster.

Strengths

High Damage Potential

On Near Water and Imaginary Space fields, Nemo gets an extra 20% attack, Arts Card effectiveness, and NP damage up, letting him deal substantially increased damage with his Noble Phantasm. He also deals supereffective damage to Super Giant enemies. When Nemo gets both of these benefits, he is an excellent single-target damage-dealer.

Party Damage Support

Many of Nemo’s buffs apply to the entire party. Especially on Near Water or Imaginary Space fields, Nemo provides an unusual amount of damage support for a damage-dealer. This makes him a good choice for teams that need two damage-dealers, provided the fight is on one of Nemo’s favored fields.

Strong NP Gain

Nemo has very good Arts card NP gain, and Indefatigable provides a flat NP charge. Together, these make it easy for Nemo to use his NP repeatedly. Indefatigable also gives an additional 50% NP charge when its Guts effect activates, letting Nemo use his NP more easily in fights where he takes a lot of damage.

Weaknesses

Highly Situational Power Levels

While Nemo’s NP damage is very high in his favored situations, it is also very low when those situations do not apply. Similarly, Nemo’s support value is substantially reduced outside of his favored terrain. This means Nemo is unlikely to be a good choice as a damage-dealer unless the fight allows him to benefit from his niche bonuses.

Limited Defensive Tools

Indefatigable is Nemo’s only defensive tool, and it is on a long cooldown. As such, Nemo typically needs the help of defensive support Servants in order to stay alive in difficult or long fights.

Weak Normal Attacks

Nemo has few critical attack damage buffs, and especially outside of his favored fields types, he also has few buffs that apply to his normal attacks in general. Most of his damage is concentrated on his Noble Phantasm, which may make it difficult for him to deal damage to enemies other than his primary target, or to output good damage when not looping his Noble Phantasm.

Indefatigable is an NP charge skill, and leveling it (along with Load Magical Energy) allows Nemo to use his NP immediately with a 50% starting NP charge CE or a 50% charge support Servant. As such, it should be leveled first. Voyager of the Storm and Guide for Travel are both party-wide damage boosts that behave similarly and are roughly equal priority. Nemo needs Indefatigable at max level in order to work effectively, but the other two skills can be safely left at lower levels if masters do not need to maximize Nemo’s damage. Levels for Voyager of the Storm and Guide for Travel will make Nemo more effective, but they will not fundamentally change how he operates.

  • Voyager of the Storm increases the entire party’s damage output for a single turn, making it a useful skill for when Nemo or an ally needs to quickly take down a strong enemy. On Nemo’s favored fields, it also provides a 3-turn Attack buff, meaning Nemo may want to use this on the first turn, rather than saving it, when that buff applies.
  • Indefatigable charges Nemo’s NP gauge and protects him from damage. This skill helps Nemo function more reliably as a damage-dealer, both using his NP more frequently and being less likely to die. Furthermore, if the Guts is used, Nemo gains an immediate 50% NP charge, likely allowing him to immediately use his NP again if he was not already able to do so.
  • Guide for Travel is a partywide Arts buff, increasing both Arts damage and Arts card NP gain. This is useful for Nemo’s own damage output, as well as for letting support Servants generate more NP gauge on their Arts cards. The skill also provides a handful of critical stars, which, in conjunction with Nemo’s high Rider star absorption, may allow Nemo to execute critical hits for further damage and NP gain.

Craft Essence Recommendation

NP Damage Up craft essences provide the largest damage increase for Nemo, making them a good pick for fights where Nemo needs to win quickly. Starting NP Charge craft essences can also be a good pick for short fights, as they let Nemo loop his Noble Phantasm more reliably.. Arts Card Performance Up and NP Gain Up craft essences help Nemo move faster on an ongoing basis, making them good choices for longer fights. Critical Damage Up craft essence, meanwhile, help offset Nemo’s weak normal attacks and allow him to leverage his Rider star absorption more effectively.

  • The Black Grail / Heaven’s Feel / Holy Night Supper: The Black Grail provides the largest NP damage increase of any CE, making it a great choice for Nemo. Heaven’s Feel provides an alternative for Masters who do not have The Black Grail, or for fights that are long enough that The Black Grail’s demerit causes problems. Holy Night Supper pairs NP damage with starting NP charge, which can be useful if Nemo is having trouble looping his Noble Phantasm.
  • Kaleidoscope / The Imaginary Element / Dragon’s Meridian:  These craft essences provide Nemo with starting NP charge, letting him use his NP immediately. Dragon’s Meridian is notable for being a silver CE that, when max limit broken, provides 50% charge, which is enough for Nemo to use his Noble Phantasm immediately with Load Magical Energy and Indefatigable both at max level.
  • Formal Craft / Mark on a Smiling Face / Meeting of the Heirs / Painting Summer: Formal Craft provides a strong flat bonus to Arts Card performance, while Mark on a Smiling Face also gives NP gain and NP damage up for stronger overall performance. Meeting of the Heirs increases Arts performance and NP gain while also giving critical stars each turn, synergizing well with Nemo’s Rider star absorption. Painting Summer also gives Arts and NP gain up, but it gives starting NP charge, letting Nemo get moving quickly.
  • Another Ending / The Sailor in White /  Knight’s Dignity: These CEs all increase Nemo’s critical attack damage, making his normal attacks more powerful. Another Ending and The Sailor in White both also increase Arts card performance, helping Nemo’s NP damage and NP gain in the process.

Character Info

Triton, the merman who was raised and loved by the gods of the sea, and Prince Dakkar, the character in the novel "Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas," or at least the man he was probably based on. The combination of these two creates the Nemo we have here.

Although Phantom Spirits have only ever existed in the Pseudo-Singularity Shinjuku so far, an alchemist from Atlas named Sion managed to extract the data and summon this special Servant as a Phantom Spirit.

In Novum Chaldea, Nemo dispatches and supports units deployed in field operations. Operations on land fall under the jurisdiction of Da Vinci, while maritime operations are under Captain Nemo's authority, so it may not be an exaggeration to say that these two are rivals in that sense as well.

Profile 1

Height/Weight: 150cm, 40kg
Origin: Greek Mythology, "Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas"
Region: Europe, India
Alignment: Chaotic-Balanced
Gender: Unknown → Male
Nemo's gender was initially unknown, as they were both Triton and a prince, but after adventuring with Chaldea, he decided to be "Captain Nemo" and took on a male form.

Profile 2

Triton was beloved by all for his honesty and kindheartedness. Prince Dakkar was known to be both decisive in his actions and judgment as well as a man of faith. As Nemo is a Phantom Spirit who combines these two Heroic Spirits, his personality slightly deviates from each of the originals.

As both Triton and Nemo, this Heroic Spirit gained his own unique ideal: rebellion against domination and devastation. Even if it be a god, Nemo will not tolerate those who abuse the weak. Ironically, this principle extends to him rebelling against modern human society (consumerism) as well. Even now, he tends to get irritated whenever he considers European culture. Of course, Greece wouldn't be an exception either, but according to him, "there are no national borders in the world of the ocean."

Upon his first appearance, Nemo did not show any emotion even when interacting with Protagonist or Mash. But after regaining the memories of Prince Dakkar, he developed an instinctual wariness for humans who are the authors of their own tragedies. So he can be very blunt at times...

Profile 3

As Nemo is in charge of the ship, he is tough on both himself and those around him, and he has little patience for indulgent behaviors, idleness, or selfishness. He is the consummate captain—tough as nails and possessed of a militaristic bearing. At the same time, as he is also Triton, he gives his blessing to all manner of adventurous journeys. Upon his summoning as a Servant in Chaldea, he deems Protagonist a travelling adventurer, and so offers his blessings and guidance.

At first, he adheres rigidly to his given role, hiding his true self and insisting that he is "just a submarine" even in his interactions with Master. Gradually, as he lets down his guard on recognizing his Master is trustworthy, he becomes much more companionable, even friendly. Naturally straightforward and goodhearted, he will never betray those to whom he's taken a liking.

Even if he cannot see the end of his friend's travels, he numbers among the Heroic Spirits who truly loves mankind, and so will always offer his blessings to humanity.

Profile 4

[Great Ram, Nautilus]
Rank: A
NP Type: Anti-Sea Noble Phantasm
Range: 2 - 70
Maximum Targets: 1 enemy

I Shall Conquer, the Great Ram of the Nautilus.
Taking the shape of the submarine Nautilus, this Noble Phantasm surges forward with its giant ram. Endowed with a special concept, it may pierce any enemy, no matter how massive, be it a giant squid or a battleship. While this Noble Phantasm can be used outside the water (both above ground or in the air), it is far more accurate and powerful if it is used in the sea, making it more effective whenever the field is Near Water.

Voyager of the Storm: C++
A skill employed by captains. This skill is a lower rank than many other captain Servants because Triton was technically not the captain of a ship, and Nemo's ship was an advanced technological marvel of his age, so he never had to sail through a howling gale on a tattered vessel. However, if the field is Near Water, this skill becomes vastly more efficient, which explains why its rank is appended with a "++".

Indefatigable: B+
The spiritual nature and conviction of Nemo given form. While it's both a Battle Continuation and NP Gain skill, its true potential is demonstrated when Guts is activated, as the captain's spirit burns brightest in the direst of circumstances.

Guide for Travel: C++
Triton, who once guided the Argo, is known for having been a guide of heroes. As Triton protects the hopes and dreams of those who seek uncharted territory and unknown lands, he is comparable with the young Da Vinci, whose fundamental drive is to go beyond in pursuit of a better world.
This skill's effects also improve if the field is Near Water.

Profile 5

Operating a submarine, much less a warship, would be impossible for even Nemo to do alone. Knowing Nemo’s hands would be tied, Sion applied one of the Atlas Intuition’s secret techniques known as “memory partition” at the time of Nemo’s summoning. As a result, by dispersing his own magical energy, Nemo is able to create clones that are essentially the same as him but specialized for the various roles needed for the operation of a submarine. The following are the Nemo Series that work in the docks.

Nemo Marine
The most nimble of the series, there are always twelve of these (twelve active on duty, maximum twenty-four). They all have the same personality and appearance. Nemo Marines represent the labor force that cleans, operates, maintains, and performs other miscellaneous tasks around the ship. They are always cheerful and never hate anyone (though they may not like everyone). While they may scream and shout a bit in emergencies, they will always do their very best to resolve the problem. The Marines are also the members of the Nemo Series in whom Triton's aspects are most clearly expressed.

Nemo Professor
Professor addresses everyone respectfully, which won Blackbeard’s friendship. As the name suggests, Professor works as the ship's resident intellectual and strategist, and is in charge of analysis, calculation, and devising strategies.

Nemo Engineer
The stubborn chief engineer who runs the ship's engine room with a fierce workman's spirit. Hers is one of the most dangerous and demanding jobs on the ship and she is driven by her motherly love and belief that protecting humans is her duty. She also sees herself and Captain as equally ranked, and so thinks she can take his place if he ever screws up. She loves humanity a great deal, but loves the Nautilus just as much.

Nemo Nurse
She is in charge of the infirmary and is the most mature, as well as tolerant and rational, of all the Nemo Series. Nurse always performs her duties with a cool head in an emergency.

Nemo Baker
Baker is the member of the Nemo Series in charge of the most important part of the ship: the galley (bakery). Meals boost a soldier’s morale, so ultimately this is the most powerful Nemo.

Profile 6

Unlocks after clearing Lostbelt 5-2: Olympus at Bond Lv.5

Sion summoned Nemo as a Phantom Spirit because she didn't use Chaldea's summoning system. She was unsure if the summoning would succeed, and so by combining two Heroic Spirits' Spirit Origins, she reinforced a Spirit Origin capable of becoming a Servant. As a result, Triton took the name and memories of Nemo, and became one with the "Noble Phantasm of the sea", the submarine Nautilus, that was associated with Nemo.

When Sion summoned him at the start of Part 2, he was still both a mermaid and a prince. But after joining Chaldea and deciding to help them out, he sealed up his mermaid self and fully embraced his Captain Nemo side in the name of conquering Atlantis. He later became the captain of the dimension-piercing battleship Storm Border and assisted in the battle for Novum Chaldea.

He LOVES parfaits.
(He treats this fact as top secret information of the highest clearance level.)

I might act big and important as captain, but deep down I'm shy and reserved. I only dress smartly like this for big occasions.
So what do you think? Do I look good, Master?
Ascension 4 Working as a lookout so early in the morning? Well that's commendable.
Have you gotten used to being on the Nautilus? You must be a little chilly. Come and sit over here.
Look. You can see the sun rising over the horizon. I love watching the still-faint dawn as the darkness and light trade places after a rainy day.
I used to watch it with the birds, but I guess it's kind of nice to watch it with you now.
As I'm both Triton and Nemo, I'm not sure how long I can stay around...but until your voyage ends, let's keep on watching the sea together.
I'll protect you, Master. That's a promise.
Bond Level 1 How did I end up as your Servant when it was Sion who first summoned me? Fate really is strange.
No, maybe it's better to think that there was an issue with Sion's summoning methods.
Bond Level 2 I won't have any complaints as long as you follow the ship's rules. I'm saying this not just because I'm the captain, but because I'm also Triton, a god who cherishes freedom.
...I hope you haven't forgotten that part.
Bond Level 3 Thanks to Sion teaching me memory partition, I was able to Marine is a part of me who likes to do chores, while Professor is a part of me who wants to be engrossed in hobbies. We may all have different personalities, but we're all the same Nemo. It's probably in your best interests to get along with all of us.
Bond Level 4 Men can have feminine tastes, and women can have masculine tastes. That applies to the Nemo Series too, and that's why there are male and female types.
I'm not going to tell you who's what. But I'm sure you can figure it out.
Bond Level 5 When we stop at the next port, I want you to come with me to the market. There's only so much I can carry by myself, and it's about time you helped out around the Nautilus.
...Honestly. You wouldn't have helped unless I spelled it out for you. You ARE aware that you are my Master?
Conversation 1 It's time to cruise, Master.
Let's put out to sea.
Conversation 2 As long as your commands are reasonable and morally just, then I'll obey you.
I will not carry out any inhumane operations.
Reckless operations...well, I guess it'll depend on the time and place.
Conversation 3 I'm a man of few words, so I only say what's necessary. It's not that I don't like you, Master, so don't get the wrong idea about that.
Conversation 4 (Jason) A ship's captain has to provide stability. Only being competent in crucial moments is more for adventurers than voyagers of the sea.
...But then again that's probably why that guy's so appealing to the Marines.
Conversation 5 (Bartholomew Roberts) Bartholomew's prudence makes him really reliable.
He's good-looking, considerate, and has good taste when it comes to naming vessels.
So...why is he such a disappointment?
Conversation 6 (Caenis) Whoa, Caenis is here!?
No, no, no! We don't like them! They're crude, they're loud, and they don't clean up after themselves!
I know! I'll just swap that spear with a mop next time!
Conversation 7 (Super Orion) Huh, so that's Orion. The rumors were true: he's super beefy.
...Damn.
That's the dream. If only I had a male body...
Conversation 8 (Lakshmi Bai) I'm both proud and ashamed whenever I see her.
She is proof of my crime and the figure I denounced... Oh, she tripped.
Oh no. She spilled the tea she was carrying on her head. And now all the trash cans are falling on her like dominoes.
Yeah, I really can't take my eyes off her...for so many reasons.
Conversation 9 (Leonardo da Vinci) I'm learning so much from Da Vinci.
The Shadow Border and the Nautilus. Now that our team has covered both land and sea, our next goal will be to take to the skies.
...But I'm a little concerned about that.
Conversation 10 (Mysterious Alter Ego L) I hear there's a Servant who claims to be named after the devil of the sea.
They have some nerve, saying that in front of me... Whoa, WHAT!? They're launching a penguin like a torpedo!
Damn...I never thought of doing something like that!
Conversation 11 (Katsushika Hokusai, Katsushika Hokusai (Saber)) Master, did you know that the deep sea is even less charted than outer space? If you know that, then I can get straight to my point. As an expert of the sea, the one piece of advice I can give you is this:
Never serve octopus as a meal.
Conversation 12 (Sessyoin Kiara (Moon Cancer)) ...I don't know what it is, but I felt a shiver down my spine.
I feel like I'm a giant tuna laid out for auction, or a sardine on a platter...
Huh? She's a nun who turned immortal after eating a mermaid!?
...Okay, we're bailing!
Conversation 13 (Van Gogh) So Van Gogh's here, too?
I'm relieved since both she and I have ambiguous presences.
I do hope you can be her anchor so she doesn't turn to foam and disappear.
Likes 1 What I like?
The liberating sea, the shape of a spiral shell, playing music, and building secret bases.
As for dessert, I love pudding.
Likes 2 What I like?
I like the feeling of a chilled surface, how a manta ray swims, and vacuum tubes.
But I especially like to be doted on.
...Promise you won't forget to do it sometimes, okay?
Likes 3 Ooh, ooh!
I like cleaning the instrumentation, cleaning the baths, and carrying torpedoes!
Oh, and I live for lunchtime!
Dislikes 1 I dislike invasions, bullies, smugglers, and mice.
As for Caenis...it's not like I dislike them. It's more like I'm not really keen on them.
Dislikes 2 What I don't like? Nothing in particular.
Oh, but that jerk Captain pisses me off.
Why? Because whenever they go out to port, they sneak out and eat a bunch of sweets without us!
And here I am, licking salt rocks while I toil alone, caring for the engines. Don't you think that's totally unfair!?
Dislikes 3 What I dislike? I do not like those who won't take their medicine. Oh, and people who stay up late.
I do hope you don't do those kinds of things, Master.
About the Holy Grail 1 Even if I had the Holy Grail, I wouldn't use it. It turns everything into gold, right?
I'm no King Midas... Imagine how gaudy a golden Nautilus would look like.
A simpleminded treasure like that would be better off with someone like Jason.
About the Holy Grail 2 What? Captain's just trying to act cool by saying he doesn't want a Holy Grail.
I think a Holy Grail is wonderful. It dispenses infinite flour, right?
I'll bake a ton of delicious bread for you!
During an Event There's an event going on. Take it easy.
Birthday I know it's your birthday. You did good over the past year.
This isn't to show my appreciation for all your efforts, but you should cut loose at least for today.
Come on, tell me your wish. I'll take you to whichever port, anywhere around the world you want.
Summon I really don't see the point in reintroducing myself at this moment, but...
I am the son of the sea god Poseidon and Amphitrite. I am a "nobody" who sails across world in the submarine Nautilus.
It might be a bit complicated, but just call me Captain Nemo. Take good care of me, Master.
Great Void Sea Battle, Imaginary Scramble - To the Surface, Nautilus! 1 Very well. We're under special circumstances, so I'll approve the exchange of goods and supplies.
So. Are there anything useful?
Great Void Sea Battle, Imaginary Scramble - To the Surface, Nautilus! 2 The ship is still on high alert. Make sure your Servants are enhanced and ready for battle.
Great Void Sea Battle, Imaginary Scramble - To the Surface, Nautilus! 3 Steady as she goes, yay!
Welcome to the Nautilus shop! Exchange lots and lots!
Great Void Sea Battle, Imaginary Scramble - To the Surface, Nautilus! 4 Very good work. Have you gotten used to waiting around in the ship? If you ever feel ill, feel free to stop by the infirmary.
Great Void Sea Battle, Imaginary Scramble - To the Surface, Nautilus! 5 Yes, hello. Huh. What is this place? Item exchange?
Oh man, I'm not sure if I can do a good job. You see, I'm not that good at working in the service industry...
Great Void Sea Battle, Imaginary Scramble - To the Surface, Nautilus! 6 Hey, working hard, Master? Yep, that's what I expect from the person who hired me!
This place is nice and air-conditioned. It's perfect for a rest!
Great Void Sea Battle, Imaginary Scramble - To the Surface, Nautilus! 7 Yay, come on in!
Welcome to the exchange shop, Master. We also have delicious bread.
Great Void Sea Battle, Imaginary Scramble - To the Surface, Nautilus! 8 This one? Here you go.
The ship's always low on supplies, so it would be helpful if you kept on exchanging.
Great Void Sea Battle, Imaginary Scramble - To the Surface, Nautilus! 9 ...It probably would have been good if I procured more popular materials...
Hm. No, never mind. I was just jotting down things in my journal.
Great Void Sea Battle, Imaginary Scramble - To the Surface, Nautilus! 10 Here you go! Take it!
Part of our job is hauling cargo, so we're good at working as shopkeepers, too!
Great Void Sea Battle, Imaginary Scramble - To the Surface, Nautilus! 11 If it was me, I'd throw in something extra for my hardworking Master. But then Captain always warns me not to coddle you. Honestly...they coddle themselves the most, you know?
Great Void Sea Battle, Imaginary Scramble - To the Surface, Nautilus! 12 This one, correct? Here you go, Master. Teehee. It feels so different handling something other than medical supplies.
Great Void Sea Battle, Imaginary Scramble - To the Surface, Nautilus! 13 Thank you for stopping by for item exchanges. It's a bit of a shame that we go in shifts.
Great Void Sea Battle, Imaginary Scramble - To the Surface, Nautilus! 14 Ah, is this not the item you're looking for?
No, don't worry. It's the right one.
Handing something over in person is nerve-racking.
Great Void Sea Battle, Imaginary Scramble - To the Surface, Nautilus! 15 It's Void Space outside, right? I can't help but interested, but the danger level is at EX, too.
...Protect me if something happens, okay?
Great Void Sea Battle, Imaginary Scramble - To the Surface, Nautilus! 16 Oh, so you want something like this. It's one of those trendy things, right?
I really don't know much about that kind of stuff since I'm cooped inside the engine room. But if you're happy, I'm happy!
Great Void Sea Battle, Imaginary Scramble - To the Surface, Nautilus! 17 Take it away, take it away!
Oh, are the Nemo Series giving you any trouble? If they do anything stupid, I'm going to give them a kick, so you should give them a break.
Great Void Sea Battle, Imaginary Scramble - To the Surface, Nautilus! 18 Thank you for your purchase.
Ehehe. I can't help but smile. I've always wanted to say something like that☆
Great Void Sea Battle, Imaginary Scramble - To the Surface, Nautilus! 19 Are you eating properly? Drop by the kitchen whenever you don't have an appetite. I'll serve you some fresh-from-the-oven bread.
Great Void Sea Battle, Imaginary Scramble - To the Surface, Nautilus! 20 You did good. Our operations ended in victory thanks to your efforts.
...And that's the end of me being all serious.
So many things happened, but we gained so much from this voyage. As captain, I am proud, Master.
Great Void Sea Battle, Imaginary Scramble - To the Surface, Nautilus! 21 This exchange shop will close once the Nautilus docks.
Make sure you finish your exchanges so you don't have any leftover materials.
Then again, I don't think you would want to hold on to anything you acquired in Void Space in the first place, right?
