Gundam Battle Gunpla Warfare: Barbatos [6th Form] and Gusion Rebake - Should You Pull?

gunplaBanner

Pilots!

Today we've got another addition of Should You Pull, brought to you by AetherRose on our discord server. Check out my assessment of this week's banner below!

I know a ton of people are hype about this one! I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t either. That halberd is looking as juicy as ever, and Barbatos’ 6th Form has SPOT ON aesthetics. Honestly, Medieval Month came one month too soon on our Discord’s Gunpla Builder’s Contest. I would’ve loved to see some of these parts in there!

This week we got 970 Haro Chips, and here’s how:

  • 150 - Login Bonus
  • 140 - Daily Achievements
  • 100 - Event Login
  • 210 - Mission Completion
  • 170 - Arena Participation
  • 200 - Dawn of Mass Production Login

Let’s set up some ground rules so you know exactly what to expect and how you should be treating this!

This is entirely my opinion, but I will do my best to justify my opinion and explain to you why I feel a certain way. If at all possible, I’ll use real numbers as well and present an objective outlook before my opinion.

Do not pull on the banner hoping for a single Part. It’s 0.2% for a single Part, which is 50x 10-pulls or 500 pulls. In terms of real money, that’s 5,400 USD.

SS is considered meta defining, S is meta, A is great, B is average, C is below average, D is considered well below average, and F is awful. Parts are compared to all other Parts as a whole and on how well they synergize with other Parts. This means a 4* and a 3* would be compared to everything as low as a 1* to as high as other 4*s.

There are some notations which aren’t immediately obvious:

An EX Skill with D/B at 21/6 CD means it has a D in Power, B in Piercing, a 21 second cooldown, and it’s available for use 6 seconds after the match starts.

All stats, letters, and numbers are at Max Value.

With all of that out of the way, let’s get right into the new banner and what we’re looking at this week!

This week is a normal banner, which means it will be going to Standard Gunpla Parts Capsule 2 when the week is up.

Banner Grade: B

Summary: This banner has a 1% (3.32%) chance of drawing something above average, and a 0.4% (1.33%) chance of drawing something of great value or higher.

While there are fantastic Parts on this banner, they are far too rare, and you’re better off saving for banners where you have a high probability to draw good Parts. That said, a big alleviation to the entire FOMO problem of this game comes in the form of Premium Materials (Purple Select), which have been confirmed for this month as well.

I would skip.

Gundam Barbatos [6th Form]

gunplaBarbatos6th

Head: B-

As is tradition around here, we have to start off with an awful Head, which is okay because this one is actually better than usual. It’s still bad, but it offers a slight buff to EX Skills, giving a flat boost of 35 DMG. Not...great, but it’s better than Head vulcans, and this really only works for Melee skills because the Head ruins your S.Atk with only 799 of its own.

Chest: B-

This Chest has average stats and a below average Part Trait which reduces Shooting DMG Taken by 35 if you’re a Defender.

Arms: S

These Arms sport 3,181 M.Atk, making them one of the best melee Arms in the game and has one more trick up its sleeve. Get it, sleeve? Yeah okay. It comes stacked with an A-/D with 60/0s and an 11 Magazine EX Skill, not the strongest in the game but very hard hitting and that paired with Ace Excel also makes it one of the best ranged Arms in the game, hilariously.

Legs: B+

I know what you’re all thinking… “what?! B+ for EX Skill piercing boosted 28% for Defender job?!” And I have a good...ish explanation, I swear...ish. Have you seen the list of Legs recently? It’s SATURATED with amazing Parts and these are honestly middling when compared to those Legs. They are definitely great, don’t get me wrong, but are they Bisect great? At the end of the day, the average player probably has to choose between these Legs and other Legs, and there’s a good chance they will choose the other Legs. This really shows how this tier list differs from a static one, honestly, because in a static tier list these Legs would be ranked against every Part, not just their usefulness in being pulled.

Backpack: S

While on paper this is weaker than Trans Am Raid, its D/A 79/20 EX Skill still heals the entire Squad for 48% and raises their M.Atk by 29%, making in on par or better depending on the scenario. Backpacks with EX Skills are valuable assets, as they don’t have very high stats or typically provide a lot in terms of Part Traits.

Wrench Mace: S

Woof, what a massive 4,004 M.Atk stat. This right here is why I didn’t go straight for the Victory Saber. I’m waiting until my Barbatos Sword is completely powercrept. Until then, what we have here is fantastic. This beast is paired with Mace Rush, a weak D/C- 21/6s EX Skill that raises your M.Def by 24%. It’s good filler, but on an end game build, is a bit of a waste. You’re definitely equipping this for its stats and hefty damage multiplier from its weapon class.

Aesthetics: S

Barbatos looks much better this time around, trading in its anemic armor for an almost regal and terrifying presence on the battlefield. A lot of its Parts meshes well with the lankier parts we’ve started getting, but it definitely doesn’t work with bulky parts like those from Gundam or Heavyarms.

Gundam Gusion Rebake

gunplaGusionRebake

Head: C+

The Part Trait, which boosts Physical Magazine by 20%, is essentially worthless on a Head that’s focused on Defenses, which is an essentially worthless stat.

Chest: C+

These stats don’t really do justice to how lovely the Parts look. I really dislike this trend of average Armor and high Defense, as Armor is a lot more meaningful. Again, the Part Trait is useless, which reduces Shooting DMG taken by 35 when you have an Axe equipped.

Arms: B

Hmph. Average Armor and average Defenses, as well as the same underwhelming Melee DMG reduction Part Trait for Defender.

Legs: C

Remember what I said earlier about the Legs pool being saturated with greatness? Hahaha...hah. Well, these Legs are matched for some of the highest Defenses among Legs, but that’s about all they have going for them. They have an EX Skill which gives 24% M.Atk, at D/C- 21/6s, but that’s pretty pathetic.

Backpack: A

Similar to our previous Backpack, boasting a hissatsu, with D/A 79/20s and boosts M.Def by 29% and recovers the Squad by 48%, except you may have noticed the major difference there. Buffing M.Def is significantly worse than buffing M.Atk, in fact given the fact you have to hope they’re even using Melee and Defense barely comes into play when they are, I’m treating that as though this hissatsu doesn’t buff a stat, just heals.

Halberd: D

With subpar stats, we’re looking to the Part Trait to save the day. As per tradition, it lets us down with a mere “Job Gauge boosted by 17% if Defender.” With mediocre M.Atk and a Part Trait that forces Defender, which is a melee Job License, I actually can’t imagine a use for this Part, such that there are better 2* and 3* Parts.

120mm Long Range Rifle: D

Again with abysmal stats and the terrible Part Trait: “When Armor is 40% or more, Shooting DMG taken reduced by 35.” Not much to say here, except that there’s tons of better 3* Parts.

Shield: A+

WARNING: This is running off of the assumption Halberd Throw actually is a Melee EX Skill that attacks at range.
While we’re looking at a mere D/B+ with 21/6s, a Melee EX Skill that acts as a Ranged Skill is very valuable and great for many uses. Additionally, it comes with Close Combat and that’s pretty decent actually.

Aesthetics: B

It’s really big and really bulky. Half the Parts look like they’d fit with basically anything while the other half look like they work with almost nothing, so it’s a real mixed bag. Of course, with the Parts that’d fit with anything, I’m referring to all those Parts with halberds attached.

AI Pilots Shiro Amada (4*) and Rosamia Badam (3*)

pilotsShiroAndRosamia

Banner Grade: B+

If you need a good Out Fighter, which you probably don’t, this is the banner for you. If you need a good Support, which you probably do, this is not the banner for you. Pretty unfortunate, huh?

Shiro Amada: A

While sitting at 1,180 for the two most important stats for an Out Fighter, Armor and M.Atk, Shiro definitely is a decent Pilot. This added with his Enemy Shooting Power reduced by 30% if you’re Power Attribute makes him very synergistic with a lot of Out Fighter Parts already out there.

Rosamia Badam: C

Ms. Badam is a Support, which means one thing: most of her value is in her Part Trait. So, how is her Part Trait? “With Technique attribute, Enemy EX Skill pentration reduced 22%.” So uhh...not good for a Support. Sorry.
