Introduction

Pilots!

Welcome again to Should You Pull - Gundam Battle Gunpla Warfare edition. We've got a new banner as of 12 hours ago and we've got your tier list up and running. A HUGE thanks to AetherRose in the GBGW discord for writing this below article! And a huge thanks to @Bean Soup (aka: Lt. Daryl Lorenz) for making the AWESOME image above.

Without further ado, let's get into the breakdown!

Hey guys! This week is an exciting banner for me and I can’t wait to find out how good it is! Deathscythe is one of the most popular gunpla, and one of my personal favorites as well. I don’t know, something about the invisibility and the scythe and the hookshot katar is just super cool to me!

This week we got 3,150 Haro Chips from the Sokai Festival, and here’s how:

  • 100 - Login Bonus
  • 140 - Daily Achievements
  • 150 - Event Login
  • 180 - Mission Completion
  • 500 - Apology for Various Errors
  • 580 - Arena Participation
  • 1,500 - Apolochips

Let’s set up some ground rules so you know exactly what to expect and how you should be treating this!

This is entirely my opinion, but I will do my best to justify my opinion and explain to you why I feel a certain way. If at all possible, I’ll use real numbers as well and present an objective outlook before my opinion.

Do not pull on the banner hoping for a single Part. It’s 0.2% for a single Part, which is 50x 10-pulls or 500 pulls. In terms of real money, that’s 5,400 USD.

SS is considered meta defining, S is meta, A is great, B is above average, C is average, D is considered below average, and F is awful. Parts are compared to all other Parts as a whole and on how well they synergize with other Parts. This means a 4* and a 3* would be compared to everything as low as a 1* to as high as other 4*s.

There are some notations which aren’t immediately obvious:

An EX Skill with D/B- at 21/6 CD means it has a D in Power, B in Piercing, a 21 second cooldown, and it’s available for use 6 seconds after the match starts.

All stats, letters, and numbers are at Max Value.

With all of that out of the way, let’s get right into the new banner and what we’re looking at this week!

This week is a normal banner, which means it will be going to one of the Standard Pools when the week is up.

Deathscythe (4*) and Shenlong (4*)

Banner Grade: A-

Summary: This banner has a 0.4% (1.32%) chance of drawing something great, and a 0.6% (1.98%) chance of drawing something of S value or higher.

-Prime Pool percentages are in parenthesis

This banner has a lot of incredible Parts, although it’s held back by being a double 4*. I can say there’s enough here, though, to mitigate that for the most part. One of these is truly exceptional, and I think will give whales and the chosen few a huge leg up on the competition.

I would pull.

Deathscythe

Head: B

This head has the usual bad EX Skill and a well below average 1179 S.Atk and excessively high 1179 Defenses. Not much to say here, to be honest, it’s better than our previous heads. This comes with High Mobility and For Forest Word Tags, which are both mediocre.

Chest: B

Another 11 Magazine Physical Shot and it had A/D with 60/0 CD. In addition to that, it has an above average but not the best 1179 in Defenses. The best part here is definitely its Machine Cannon EX Skill. This comes with High Mobility and For Forest Word Tags, which are both mediocre.

Arms: B

These arms come with a solid passive 20% S.Atk when Mid Shot range and with Axe equipped, which makes this one of the only solid picks for Shooters. They have a slightly above average 1170 in Defenses and a well below average 1179 M.Atk. Unfortunately, the EX Skill is rather restrictive and the stats are not very good on an arm. This comes with High Mobility and For Forest Word Tags, which are both mediocre.

Legs: A

The Part Trait on these Legs is pretty great! 20% CD reduction when you have an Axe equipped. The restriction holds it back, but 20% CD is still very good and the Code Phi Scythe is a solid addition here. Next, the Defenses on this Part is the highest of any Legs at 1601 each. Finally, this comes with High Mobility and For Base Word Tags, which are both mediocre.

deathscythe

Backpack: A+

Like the Legs, this comes with a massive 1601 in Defenses, which is the highest of its type. In addition, it comes with the Awakening EX Skill Hyper Jammer, which has an effect time of 51 and a CD of 60/12, perfect for a Support to remain hidden basically forever. In addition to remaining hidden, it also raises your S.Atk by 19%. The stats and EX Skill really set this backpack apart! Finally, this comes with High Mobility and For Base Word Tags, which are both mediocre.

Beam Scythe: B-

This Axe sits at a very smol 1601 M.Atk and an above-average 795 Defenses. Deadly Circle carries this weapon with A/D and 21/3 CD. In addition, it lowers the Beam Resist of the enemy by 39%. Finally, this comes with High Mobility and For Base Word Tags, which are both mediocre.

Shield: S+

This is a fantastic shield at an absolutely disgusting 1974 in both Defenses and comes paired with a fantastic EX Skill. The EX Skill is a thrown melee with A/D and 21/3 CD, making this the single best shield in the game and invalidating the only good part of the Zeta set a week in. Very cool.

Aesthetics: S

Fite me. In seriousness, he has the standard blocky shape, an average head height, and not to mention very cool pauldrons. This fits most gunpla!

Shenlong

Head: B

This head has the usual bad EX Skill and a well below average 1179 S.Atk and excessively high 1179 Defenses. Not much to say here, to be honest, it’s better than our previous heads. This comes with Close Combat, which is decent, and For Forest Word Tags, which is mediocre.

Chest: C+

The Armor on this Part is actually really high, but then the Defenses are average. The EX Skill is above average with a 30% stronger Strong Melee Attack, however. This comes with High Mobility and For Forest Word Tags, which are both mediocre.

Arms: B

These Arms comes with another strange stat spread like our Deathscythe. A very below average 1181 and a very above average 1181 in M.Atk and both Defenses, putting these arms squarely in the average range. This is mitigated slightly, but not really, by its EX Skill, which is D/B with a 30/8 CD. This EX Skill is also rather average. This comes with Close Combat and High Firepower Word Tags, which are both pretty good.

Legs: B

These Legs have an above-average 1181 in Defenses and a pretty average passive of not flinching 20% of the time while Technique. This comes with Close Combat and High Firepower Word Tags, which are both pretty good.

Backpack: SS

This Backpack’s EX Skill is absolutely freaking amazing. Armed Aura has an effect time of 51s with a CD of 33/7 and it prevents all flinching for your Squad.
Let that sink in. You’re all MG bosses. All of you. Always.

Oh and the Defenses are above average at 1181. Finally, this comes with Close Combat and High Firepower Word Tags, which are both pretty good.

Beam Glaive: B

This weapon sits at well below average 1605 M.Atk. The EX Skill has a below-average A-/D with a CD of 30/3. The main benefit here is it also debuffs enemy Beam Resist by 39%. Finally, this comes with Close Combat, which is pretty good, and For Forest, which is pretty lame.

Shield: S

This is a fantastic shield at a solid 1181 in both Defenses and comes paired with a fantastic EX Skill. The EX Skill is a thrown melee with A/D and 21/3 CD, making this one of the best shields in the game and easily competes with, if not being outright better than, the Zeta Shield. Very cool.

Aesthetics: A

Shenlong has a unique but very workable shape and the head is to die for. Truly, this is based A. The spherical body seems like it’d work well with both large and medium parts, giving it a fair amount of variety that most chests don’t have.

AI Pilots: Kira Yamato (4*) and Flit Asuno (3*)

Banner Grade: ?

Kira, ignoring his passive, is a very average pilot. Flit is bad.

Kira Yamato: ?

I will be up front with you...I do not know exactly what his passive does. It says EX Skill recovery boosted by 140, which I think means +140 when healing. I don’t feel comfortable rating a Part or Pilot when I don’t have a good idea of its function. That said, Kira sits pretty at an above-average 1184 S.Atk. Next, he comes with Protag and For Base, so he comes with Protag. Protag is not at its full potential on a Mid Shooter like Kira, but it’s still very good.

Flit Asuno: C-

Flit has a passive which feels more at home on a Supporter, because it buffs EX Skill up time by 15%. This is still decent on an In Fighter like Flit because of attack stances, but the best attack stances are already up 100% of the time. This comes paired with 558 in both offense stats and defense stats, which is terrible. Finally, his Word Tags are Mid-Range and Close Combat, which are incredibly strange for an In-Fighter. I suppose if you’re the kind of player to enjoy In Fighter but still want range, this is your pilot.
