Hi-nu HWS and Enhanced ZZ - Should You Pull?

sokaiFestivalHNHWSandEZZ

Pilots!

Today we've got another addition of Should You Pull, brought to you by AetherRose on our discord server. Check out my assessment of this week's banner below!

Hey folks! I’m really sorry about the late article, but given the date, you can probably imagine how busy I am and was! Anyways, it’s here, it’s now, let’s jump right into two gundams that I desperately hope aren’t rehashes! Also, shoutout to Bamco for those hot Noir wings, I better be seeing lots of those in the gunpla competition!

Last week we got 830 Haro Chips, and here’s how:

  • 150 - Login Bonus
  • 140 - Daily Achievements
  • 100 - Event Login
  • 270 - Mission Completion
  • 170 - Arena Participation

Let’s set up some ground rules so you know exactly what to expect and how you should be treating this!

This is entirely my opinion, but I will do my best to justify my opinion and explain to you why I feel a certain way. If at all possible, I’ll use real numbers as well and present an objective outlook before my opinion.

Do not pull on the banner hoping for a single Part. It’s 0.2% for a single Part, which is 50x 10-pulls or 500 pulls. In terms of real money, that’s 5,400 USD.

SS is considered meta defining, S is meta, A is great, B is average, C is below average, D is considered well below average, and F is awful. Parts are compared to all other Parts as a whole and on how well they synergize with other Parts. This means a 4* and a 3* would be compared to everything as low as a 1* to as high as other 4*s.

There are some notations which aren’t immediately obvious:

An EX Skill with D/B at 21/6 CD means it has a D in Piercing, B in Power, a 21 second cooldown, and it’s available for use 6 seconds after the match starts.

All stats, letters, and numbers are at Max Value.

With all of that out of the way, let’s get right into the new banner and what we’re looking at this week!

This week is a Sokai Festival banner, which means it will not be going to Standard Gunpla Parts Capsule 2 when the week is up.

Banner Grade: A

Summary: This banner has a 1.6% (4.98%) chance of drawing something above average, and a 0.8% (2.49%) chance of drawing something of great value or higher.

In spite of the rather few good Parts on this banner, the doubled rates give you a higher chance of drawing those Parts. Frankly, you’re going to get a pile of scrap while aiming for those good Parts, but all the more fodder for recycle, right?.

I would not skip.

Prime Pool percentages are in parenthesis

Hi-nu Gundam HWS

hiNuHWS

I refuse to acknowledge more than three adjectives in a name. Also, while the picture isn't right, it looks a lot better than the tiny, blurry mess that is.

Head: A

This is a very weird Head. So, obviously the not weird part is it comes with Head Vulcans, but then it has less S.Atk than the Nu. This is supposed to be the stronger version right? Well, either way, this starts off the banner loaded with the second highest S.Atk at 3,309!

Chest: B

With above average Armor at 1,732 and average stats aside, the Chest has a D/B+ 21/6s EX Skill, which is alright but nothing worth writing home about. All said, average Part.

Arms: B+

Again, we have above average Armor and fairly average stats aside. This Part comes with a Trait that boosts Sp. Shot by 30% if you’re over 40% Armor, so that is a lot better than the EX Skill from the Chest due to its higher usability, although still nothing fantastic.

Legs: B

And what we have here are weaker Justice Legs. With average stats, an average A/D 21/6s melee EX Skill, and a very long name, this is almost the B-est B tier to ever B tier, however it does come stacked with Ace Excel AND High Firepower.

Backpack: B

My favorite Part! Not because it’s good, oh good God no, it just looks cool. Average stats, again, and funnels are almost always worthless. That said, I couldn’t find anything discussing if these funnels act differently, so I’m assuming they act like average funnels. Much like construction workers, they prefer watching the action.

Hyper Mega Rifle [Hi-nu Gundam HWS]: S+

WOW! Finally, a good Part! This bad boy packs 4,105 S.Atk and that’s not even the best part. Its Trait boosts your EX Skill power by 30% when you’re Technique. Not only that, like much of the gunpla, it comes stacked with Ace Excel and High Firepower. Hot damn!

Shield: B+

Honestly, this Shield has pretty average stats, again, and I’m getting tired of summarizing Parts that way. The High Caliber Mega Particle Beam Cannon doesn’t hit like its name implies, only being an A/D 60/15, but that’s still pretty good on a Shield--normally they get shafted for good EX Skills and Part Traits. In fact, this is the strongest EX Skill on a Shield to date, tied with Mobile Shield, Shenlong Shield, and Shield (Legilis).

Aesthetics: SS

YOOOOOOO! The Parts might suck but holy cow I absolutely love the aesthetic this guy has going for him. This design is crazy on point! The wings go with basically anything, and while the Legs and Chest don’t exactly gel with everything under the sun, they definitely improve designs where they do fit.

Enhanced ZZ Gundam

EZZ

Head: S+

Oh good, another Head with Head Vulca--wait a second. This is a real EX Skill. I’m not gonna lie, I was actually very surprised when I saw this. I was expecting a literal copy and paste from Head Vulcan in spite of it being a beam cannon. So, here we have the highest S.Atk in the game paired with a real A/D 60/15s EX Skill, and I’m just happy it’s not Head Vulcan.

Chest: B

With above average Armor and average stats aside (I swear I don’t have that on copy/paste but I should), we are actually looking at an average Part, because of its Part Trait. Its Awakening gives you 20% Speed, 29% M.Def, and 49% B.Res. While buffing two useless stats and taking an entire EX Skill slot to do it, I’m disappointed

Arms: B

I was really wowed by that 4,255 M.Def right up until I noticed it doubles as a Shield. The only redeeming quality of this Part is you get double Ace Excel for the price of one. Yippee!

Legs: S

Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. YES. BLADE LEGS! BLADE LEGS! With average stats and missing the Ace Excel, this was almost a bad Part. BUT THEN 20% EX SKILL CD REDUCTION WITH BLADE HAPPENED. YES. THAT’S T H I C C

Backpack: B

Average stats and a below average low output EX Skill makes me a sad boy. I don’t like this Part, Sam I am, not even with a ranged build. By the way, the EX Skill is D/B+ 21/6s CD.

Hyper Beam Saber [Enhanced ZZ Gundam]: B-

A long name for a long sword...and I mean a LONG sword. The model for this thing is absolutely MASSIVE--like bigger than your entire gunpla. That said, it has pretty sad stats at a mere 3,138 M.Atk and topped with an equally sad D/B+ 21/3s EX Skill. The redeeming quality here lies in having Protag. and High Firepower, but even then you should be looking to replace this.

Aesthetics: A

I like bulky bois. I know I have a problem. While Enhanced ZZ goes well with basically nothing, least of all itself, and while the Arms and Back look really dumb, I think we can all agree the coolest characters have really big swords.
That’s what Enhanced ZZ brings to the table.
A. Really. Big. Sword.

AI Pilots Garrod Ran (4*) and Fa Yuiry (3*)

garrodAndFa

Banner Grade: A+

This is probably one of the best Pilot banners in awhile. Although to be fair, what I mean by that is it has two very good Pilots instead of relying on the purple Pilot to carry the banner. If nothing else, I would pull for Fa if you have literally any interest in having a healer.

Garrod Ran: A

Boy, do I need to see Gundam X. Regardless, Garrod Ran has 1181 M.Atk and S.Atk and comes paired with...a brand new Part Trait. When Armor is 80% or less, All power boosted 30%. Wow, set this guy up with a Wing Gundam Chest and watch him do work, am I right? Otherwise, even with a number as high as 80%, “Armor < X” traits are not very good, in my opinion. They require you to either equip the Wing Gundam Chest or be losing, which in Arena makes neither of those a viable option, and in normal missions means you’re losing or playing close to death. Not worth. Still, he also comes with Protag. and Close Combat, making this a GREAT Out Fighter. Depending on if they add more EX Skills which reduce your Armor, this Pilot could become overpowered quickly.

Fa Yuiry: A

While Fa has less than fantastic S.Atk and stats in general, she boosts EX Skill recovery by 12%. Now, given Supporters can be built for healing with their passive CD Reduction working on Healing Skills, this is fantastic!
