  • Using the "Block All" button (LB or RB by default) uses special gauge. It will use more if you 'block all' an enemy attack that only targets one character.
  • Action count matters. The more actions (key inputs) in a combo, the more damage your final actions will do. As a result, finishing with heavy hitters and damage focused specials is key to maximizing damage.
  • If Ajna goes down, play defensively! If you generate enough meter, she can use it to revive herself and others.
  • Perfect blocking (frame perfect blocks) will guarantee you will not die from a hit. You may be reduced to 1 hp, but if you never miss a just timed block attempt, you can never die!

  • USE YOUR BOW - The bow can be used to stun or knockdown enemies outside of combat, giving you an easy opportunity to run in and attack them with a first strike! Bows can even initiate combat if you're close enough.
  • Spikes and cliffs are bad news - If enemies are close enough to them when you initiate battle, they can cause all sorts of problems. Nobody in combat is affected by them, aside from Ajna - if she ever steps on them as part of her combat animations, you'll be treated as you would be out of combat, take loads of damage and be ejected from the battle, needing to start all over again! This may just be a bug that will be fixed in the future, but in the meantime can cause lots of frustration.
  • (Mild spoiler) Some bosses and enemies have hit-count related shields. If you aren't doing so for whatever reason, make sure that you heavily focus on high hit count combos to take their shields down and maximize your damage against them!
  • All allies generate exp, regardless of whether you're using them or not. As such, don't be afraid to test out new characters and combos!

  • Save points are EVERYWHERE. Losing a battle rarely impacts your progression where more than a few minutes of time is lost. As such, don't be afraid to take risks!
  • Upgrade whenever you can - the game reminds you, but improving your offensive and defensive options are valuable and very easy to do in-game. Speak to the character you want to upgrade in your Inner Realm.

  • Once you discover a bit more about yourself in-game, you'll encounter someone who can help you train. It's hours into the game, so just keep that in mind for when the time comes.
