JWA Value List Part 2

Introduction

So in the last list, we covered the 2 most bottom tiers. However, before we get into the creatures for today, there is something I should mention before we go on. I saw some people didn't fully understand the logic behind the list, and that's on me. This isn't a list telling you to ignore Haast gen 2 or Bajadasaurus. No. Bajatonodon could get a Trago-level buff. This is a list that is more focused on what to prioritize when you play. It's more worth your while to go after something like Deinotherium compared to Iguanodon. There is no such thing as bad DNA. The DNA right now may be useless, but things change. Edmontoguanadon could be the next Fukuimimus or Scaphognathus could become a mid elite rare. While you shouldn't ignore anything really, time is a limited resource, and this is a tool to help you focus on what is good right now. You shouldn't turn your nose up at anything if possible, but when you have limited time and resources, this list is designed to allow you to make the most of what you can and explain why. So, with that out of the way, we have the next tier to cover.

'Not Worth That Much' Tier

The 'Not Worth That Much' tier is where things start to get better. They may not be the most glamorous of creatures to go after, but they still could be useful to you. It's just compared to the things above, they really lack something. So, let's get to it.

The Dodos were released when flocks first made it into Jurassic World Alive, and while not as good as Compsognathus, they were still decent. But over time this flock just kept falling and falling until it found itself in the lower end of epics. The same goes for its hybrid, Dodocevia. Dodocevia does have big damage, but it just lacks what other creatures can bring to the table like Coelhaast or Lystrosuchus. And with so much of the meta working against it in the form of Ankylomoloch, Rexy, Fukuimimus, almost every other flock, and now Tragodistis, Dodocevia is just a mediocre legendary. It still isn't that bad, but there are better things to hunt out there.

Erlikosaurus is another epic who once had a solid hybrid that has since fallen off. Apart from the 1.1 tournament, Erlidominus has never been a strong pick. There is so much armor, resilience, precision, and high damage going around that Erlidominus just cannot keep up. And flocks don't make anything better for this old dog. The same holds true for Erlikosaurus. Like it's hybrid, it's got decent burst damage, but you can find other creatures with better abilities or resistances to fill the role you want. So with lackluster performances from both ends, Erlikosaurus winds up down here.

Pyroraptor is the strongest nonhybrid in this tier. However, that doesn't mean it's strong in the meta. Pyroraptor is an afterthought for cunnings in a meta filled with creatures like Megalotops, Argenteryx, and many nonhybrids like Compsognathus, Beta, and Dakotaraptor, which fills the role of being a raptor better. Pyroraptor then has Pyrritator, which is a very bad hybrid. When Rexy is legal, it's one of the worst legendary creatures as it's an easy one shot for her. Then you finally have Magnapyritor, which is now arguably a bottom 3 unique with Diloracheirus and Utarinex getting some big breaks. So honestly now, the best use for Pyroraptor DNA is Pyroraptor itself, and there are still better options out there for an epic format.

Our first rare in the tier is also a rare that, while a bit underrated, still isn’t that amazing. Gorgonops has amazing speed, good output, and solid utility. However, this was more back when it was released. Nowadays, there are more and more nonhybrids that are doing the same thing, but better. Heck, Microraptor just came in with 4 more speed than Gorgonops. There are even fierce that can take it down. Then you have Dakotanops. While better than Pyrritator, it doesn’t take much to achieve this feat. Dakotanops is honestly worse than its epic component. So, both of these factors cause Gorgonops to end up down here.

Irritator is in the same boat as Pyroraptor as it also goes into Pyrritator and then eventually Magnapyritor. However, in PVP, Irritator is at the way bottom of the ladder. However, Irritator is still a very solid choice for a raid creature. With higher hp, good speed, a basic attack to remove taunt, and 2 moves that buff team damage, many raids that would take a few turns per round can now end in either 2 or even one turn. But outside of raids, Irritator DNA is not that valuable.

Unfortunately, one of my favorite nonhybrids ends up down here. Megalosaurus is a decent rare. I feel that it is underrated and can perform quite well, especially with a good setup. However, to say it’s a top rare is incorrect. However, the best use of Megalosaurus DNA is probably Megalosaurus itself, as the only other use for Megalosaurus is Megalosuchus. Megalosuchus is a bit of a mess. The stats are all over, the kit is messed up (thanks to group ferocity strike), and the legendary rarity is just too much for it to handle. It is outclassed in both raids and PVP. So you’re better off investing in Megalosaurus, and even then it isn’t that amazing. While Megalosaurus is just strong enough to keep itself in this tier, it isn't strong enough to advance up.

When it comes to popular rares, you have your top tiers like Albertosaurus and Compsognathus gen 2 along with the fan favorites like Triceratops and Therezinosaurus as well as some that have a whole plethora of hybrids like Nasutoceratops. However, the most forgettable nonhybrid probably goes to this rare. Despite having 2 hybrid lines, Proceratosaurus is one of the most forgettable creatures out there. First up, Proceratosaurus by itself is pretty bad. Decent output paired with low bulk and no resistances make for a lousy rare. But hey, lousy rares can make good hybrids. Look at Tupandactylus. Tupandactylus has 2 hybrid lines that go into an epic with no superhybrid as well as a unique superhybrid, just like Proceratosaurus. However, Tupandactylus’s hybrids are far better. Procerathomimus is an epic that falls smack dab in the middle of the power in the rarity. It has some good tools like the null counter, but it lacks some other major tools like turn 1 damage. The other use for Proceratosaurus is Dracoceratosaurus, which probably falls below Magnapyritor as the second worst unique in a PVP format, and that’s including Touramoloch. So, while these hybrids aren’t amazing, they still have their uses. While it is bad, Dracoceratosaurus still has decent use despite being made obsolete by Thylaconyx. Meanwhile, players prefer to use their Ornithomimus DNA on the strong nonhybrid rather than fuse it with Proceratosaurus to make something weaker. Despite their glaring weaknesses, these 2 hybrids are able to carry Proceratosaurus up here.

Let's move on to our final rare in this tier and our first event exclusive creature. Tenontosaurus is a rare that was decent before 2.0 until the update made it into a raid creature. However, Tenontorex became a monster with crazy stats and good moves. But over time, Tenontorex just kept falling and falling until it landed near the bottom of high elite. It did get a change, but it was the creature that benefited the least from the patch. Heck, you could argue its a nerf. But anyways, Tenontorex isn't doing too hot right now, and this makes Tenontosaurus less valuable as why should you focus on a unique that keeps getting worse when there are other creatures out there like Enteloceros or Thylaconyx that do the job better. And then you have Tenontosaurus, which is a bad rare. In fact, it's the worst rare in the game. Tenontosaurus is the only creature that can rival Iguanodon for the worst creature in the game. But seeing as Tenontorex is still far above something like Tsintamoth, Tenontosaurus falls here.

Finally, we’ll end on the only common in here. Diplocaulus is a common that flies under the radar despite being the creature to famously destroy Ludia HQ. Diplocaulus has one hybrid line with Diplotator and then eventually Scaphotator. I already discussed Scaphotator in part 1 (which you should totally read if you got this far and haven’t yet!!). However we now need to take a closer look at Diplotator. Diplotator was a decent rare that had a lot to offer back in the day. Now, with all these flocks running amuck, Diplotator has fallen off and is now more niche. However, the reason why it is above creatures like Edmontosaurus is because Diplocaulus itself is actually a solid common. It has high attack, distraction immunity, and a decent kit that can easily succeed in that rarity. And it’s this solid performance that allows Diplocaulus to sneak its way up here.

Conclusion

Thank you all for reading. Worry not, there will be more of these on the way. However seeing as the next tier has more creatures in this one, I'll try to get it out as soon as I can, but many of the tiers will get bigger and bigger, so there will be more to do. But anyways, thanks again for reading and if you have any questions, just click that link down there and shoot me a tag or 2 and I'll get back as soon as I can. Good luck in the tournament and have a good weekend.
