JWA Weekly Event April 12-April 18: Raptor Week

Submit Feedback or Error

Introduction

Explorers! This week celebrates all that are Raptors. We're ready to pounce all over a great week with some exclusive opportunity including one Legendary attempt on Sunday! Let's go over what our Discord community is thinking and what we'll recommend to dart as well as everything else you need to know!

Weekly Calendar Explained

Before we dive in to the week, we'll break down how the weekly event calendar works. First, each day is considered started at 10am Eastern on that day. It is possible that wherever you live, it might actually be the previous or next day, so we wanted to help clarify how they determine what day it is. At this time, event creatures & strike towers will be updated as applicable. This information is also noted on the calendar.

Ever wonder why some weeks we’re given 45 attempts on commons and others only 18 or 27? The reason for this is that the volume of attempts is a simple math calculation based on the rarity and number of options. Take the rarity base number and multiply by the number of options and voila, you have your total allowed attempts! Having more variety in the options yields that many more attempts. The flip side is it may be more difficult to find the creature(s) you favor. Below details the number of attempts assigned to each rarity which is used to determine how many attempts you receive (though occasionally, they stray from this math). This is the total you are allotted across all options, so it is important to select your choices wisely.

  • Common = 9 per
  • Rate = 6 per
  • Epic = 3 per
  • Legendary/Unique = 1 total

They recently started putting the number of attempts on the calendar again and sometimes stray from the above. Refer to the calendar for the confirmed counts. Each rarity has a different length of time the spawn lasts followed by a different length of time until respawn after despawn. Commons will last 1 hour with about 5 minutes between, Rares last 3 hours with about 15 minutes in between, and Epics last 6 hours with upward of 30 minutes in between.

All strikes and trials are represented on the calendar with the level of difficulty along with how long they last (1 day or 2 days). The trials are shown along the very bottom in gray boxes.

Featured Creatures: Commons

Monday - Tuesday: 18 Attempts

  • Deinonychus (Global Anytime) (Poukaidei>Poukandactylus)
  • Velociraptor (Global Anytime) (Indominus Rex>Erlidominus/Indoraptor, Indoraptor)

New for 2021, we are reaching out to our Discord community to find out what they're planning to dart. We can't presume to understand what it's like to be at any given level of the game and hope this added input will be beneficial. If you aren't joined to our Discord, there is a link a few sections below, come on in!

Rather than ramble about what hybrid(s) these featured creatures are responsible for, we will now include that information alongside the spawn mechanics of each.

The commons this week represent fairly equally with both being available everywhere, all the time. Our Discord community is heavily leaned toward Velo as top choice. As mentioned last week, it takes multiple villages of Velo to work through the hybrid line. None of the hybrids are currently ruling, but that isn't to say they don't have any presence or can't be great again some day.

Deinonychus ("Nike") hasn't been around quite as long, and Poukan recently received a little buff love. It is also starting to appear in raid strategies at low levels.

When nothing clear cut stands out, we like to recommend just darting what crosses your path. Save your time and energy for what's coming later in the week.

Featured Creatures: Rares

Wednesday - Thursday: 24 Attempts

  • Charlie (Battle Exclusive) (Erlikogamma)
  • Delta (Local 3 Day/Dawn/Dusk) (Velosrhacos, Alloraptor)
  • Echo (Saturday) (Indominus Rex Gen 2>Indoraptor Gen 2)
  • Utahraptor (Global Anytime) (Spinotahraptor>Spinotasuchus, Utasinoraptor>Utarinex)

First, it is important to note there are only TWO DAYS for Rares this week due to Legendary Sunday. Be sure to complete your attempts before 10am Eastern on Sunday, so you don't miss out. The options here are quite great, and our community poll has them ordered Delta, Echo, Utah, Charlie. Ordering by exclusivity, we'd be looking at Charlie, Echo, Delta, Utah.

Why does the community favor Delta? Our thoughts are that the hybrids are better and both have potential for a future super hybrid. Our personal recommendation would be the exclusive Charlie in this case. It's surprising to see Charlie bringing up the rare. Perhaps people feel content in the weekly Gamma raid. We do like Delta after Charlie and then Echo and lastly Utah. Or mix it up, try a few of each! 24 is a lot of attempts over just a couple of days.

Featured Creatures: Epics

Friday - Saturday: 9 Attempts

  • Blue (Event Exclusive) (Indoraptor Gen 2)
  • Dakotaraptor (Local 2 Dawn/Dusk/Night) (Dakotanops)
  • Pyroraptor (Local 2 Anytime) (Pyrritator>Magnapyritor)

Long gone are the days of yore when we'd be screaming to get after that Blue. We don't find Blue to be a terrible choice by any means, after all it is extremely exclusive. However, Indo2 doesn't hold a current candle to what it once was. We'd put our highest recommendation on Dakota as would our Discord community. This one is the newest and Dakotanops has potential for a deadly super hybrid. Many are likely still working on Mags and will choose Pyro, but it feels more and more players are abandoning Mags in favor of other options.

Featured Creatures: Legendary

Sunday: 1 Attempt

  • Alloraptor (Event Exclusive)
  • indoraptor Gen 2 (Event Exclusive)

Here we are with another Legendary Sunday at hand. Along with our Discord community, we certainly back Alloraptor as your top choice, but it's understandable if you'd prefer Indo2. Both require an event exclusive ingredient. However, Alloraptor has the possibility of a super hybrid some day. As Indo2 already is a super, the buck stops there.

Strike Events, Trials, Scents, Treasure Chase, and Hybrid Pursuit!

Strike Events & Trials

Strike Events and Trials are also Raptor Week Themed, and with successful completion you can receive the same Common, Rare, and Epic creatures that are available at Event Drops.

The themed strike on Friday will feature the mighty King Tyrannosaurus Rex. On Tuesday, we have an Epic Strike and on Sunday, an Epic Trial. Finally, we've got the regularly scheduled Boost Strikes on Tuesday (Attack), Thursday (HP), and Saturday (Speed).

Scents

There is a basic scent strike on Monday, and the themed scent on Thursday will be... you guessed it... Raptor! This scent will draw the same Common, Rare, and Epic creatures that are available at the Event Drops.

Treasure Chase

On Sunday, we return to the standard treasure chase where the chests refresh hourly for you to collect up to 25,000 coins. The chests reset at 8pm Eastern, so you have a chance at a total of 50,000 if you can max both periods of time.

Hybrid Pursuit

This week concludes the Skoonasaurus pursuit, so keep your eyes out for the Event Exclusive, Epic Sonorasaurus! It doesn't seem they've updated the pursuit for at least a couple weeks, so there is a possibility you will sadly not find this creature.

Daily Dino & Tournament Info

This week continues with Tsintaosaurus as our personal daily mission reward. The arena season reward continues with the Event Exclussssssive Titanoboa!

"Round two" of Testacornibus Alliance Championships continues this week with a Rare (Any) Advantage tournament. If you read the forum post, then you'll see it says we will be rewarded with Carbo & Nasuto DNA. However, in game this is dubbed "DNA Tournament" which would seem to be Carbo & Euclad. Nasuto should be for Exclusive DNA tournament which shows as the final week in game. I have requested clarity in the forum and will update if received. The images below are from the forum post.

Free Cash Link

GamePress is excited to be able to provide weekly cash links worth $50 cash in game! The code can only be claimed once a week and you must click on it using the device you play JWA with. It will be active from Monday, 12 PM EST - Sunday, 12 PM EST every week. This is a promotional code provided courtesy of Ludia, Inc and is exclusive to GamePress. We will post this link in an article we publish each week. We will post all articles on our Twitter so follow us at NewsJWA on Twitter so you don't miss out!

If you enjoy our content, please help let others know this is the source of the cash links people just post for the taking all over social media. The same goes for YouTubers PokeFodder, Gaming Beaver, and Gaming Ells. All links have a purpose behind them, and that is to promote some kind of media and drive traffic. Most people simply do not know there is actually a purpose behind these links, and we'd like to try to educate as many as we can. Take a moment to politely explain this in these posts. It isn't free money some random stranger on the internet whipped up. Every time these links are shared, it is taking opportunity away from an intended purpose. Please think about that or maybe find some time to visit Gaming Beaver, PokeFodder, Gaming Ells, GamePress JWA, and the Ludia social medias.

*We can not control when Ludia officially deploys these links, but these are the times they are planned to be active.
