JWA Weekly Event April 19-April 25: Blossom Festival

Introduction

Explorers! Spring is back in the air as we come together to celebrate Blossom Festival. We'll be gifted more excusive and UNIQUE attempts based on results of a recent community vote! Let's go over what our Discord community is thinking and what we'll recommend to dart as well as everything else you need to know!

Weekly Calendar Explained

Before we dive in to the week, we'll break down how the weekly event calendar works. First, each day is considered started at 10am Eastern on that day. It is possible that wherever you live, it might actually be the previous or next day, so we wanted to help clarify how they determine what day it is. At this time, event creatures & strike towers will be updated as applicable. This information is also noted on the calendar.

Ever wonder why some weeks we’re given 45 attempts on commons and others only 18 or 27? The reason for this is that the volume of attempts is a simple math calculation based on the rarity and number of options. Take the rarity base number and multiply by the number of options and voila, you have your total allowed attempts! Having more variety in the options yields that many more attempts. The flip side is it may be more difficult to find the creature(s) you favor. Below details the number of attempts assigned to each rarity which is used to determine how many attempts you receive (though occasionally, they stray from this math). This is the total you are allotted across all options, so it is important to select your choices wisely.

  • Common = 9 per
  • Rate = 6 per
  • Epic = 3 per
  • Legendary/Unique = 1 total

They recently started putting the number of attempts on the calendar again and sometimes stray from the above. Refer to the calendar for the confirmed counts. Each rarity has a different length of time the spawn lasts followed by a different length of time until respawn after despawn. Commons will last 1 hour with about 5 minutes between, Rares last 3 hours with about 15 minutes in between, and Epics last 6 hours with upward of 30 minutes in between.

All strikes and trials are represented on the calendar with the level of difficulty along with how long they last (1 day or 2 days). The trials are shown along the very bottom in gray boxes.

Featured Creatures: Commons

Monday - Tuesday: 36 Attempts

  • Miragaia (Local 1 Day/Dawn/Dusk) (Megalogaia, Dsungaia)
  • Parasaurolophus (Local 4 Day/Dawn/Dusk) (Paramoloch,Tragoditis)
  • Scolosaurus (Local 4 Day/Dawn/Dusk) (Skoolasaurus>Skoonasaurus)
  • Triceratops Gen 2 (Global Anytime) (Dracoceratops>Dracoceratosaurus)

New for 2021, we are reaching out to our Discord community to find out what they're planning to dart. We can't presume to understand what it's like to be at any given level of the game and hope this added input will be beneficial. If you aren't joined to our Discord, there is a link a few sections below, come on in!

Rather than ramble about what hybrid(s) these featured creatures are responsible for, we will now include that information alongside the spawn mechanics of each.

After a relaxing week of 18 Common attempts. we're faced with 36 this week. None of these options really outdo any of the others, so our recommendation would be to go after what you stumble across. This is what an astounding majority of those who voted in our community poll plan to do. This is a lot of attempts over only a couple of days and doesn't feel worth the time to actively seek out anything specific. If we forced to choose, we'd side with Miragaia and Scolo as both have historically been exclusive. It's likely many players have the least of their DNA. Player Mara made a point that she plans to go for Miragaia to beef hers up for eligible tournaments. If you've ever faced a high level Miragaia,  you can totally understand why!

Featured Creatures: Rares

Wednesday - Thursday: 18 Attempts

  • Meiolania (Global Anytime) (Entelolania, Mammolania)
  • Tenontosaurus (Event Exclusive) (Tenontorex)
  • Tuojiangosaurus (Global Anytime) (Diorajasaur, Tuoramoloch)

First, it is important to note there are only TWO DAYS for Rares this week due to Unique Sunday. Be sure to complete your attempts before 10am Eastern on Friday, so you don't miss out. Your top choice this week will be the Event Exclusive Tenontosaurus. After a long period without Tent being featured, this is the second time in four weeks for this one. Your other options can be found anywhere, all the time, and Tenontorex is a top creature for both raids and arena. As you would suspect, the large majority of our Discord members who voted in our weekly poll have stated they plan to seek out Tent

If you're not feeling Tent, the other choices are still solid. Entelolania ("Lazy Lania") received a nice buff in the most recent update, and a well built Mammolania can be formidable in arena. For the Tijuana hybrids, Tuora is probably the most often present creature in Unique & Apex raids while Dio can be an arena force and also appears in many raid strategies.

Featured Creatures: Epics

Friday - Saturday: 6 Attempts

  • Ankylosaurus (Local 1 Anytime) (Ankytrosaurus>Trykosaurus, Rajakylosaurus>Diorajasaur)
  • Brachiosaurus (Event Exclusive) (Ardentismaxima)

While it seems easy to suggest the Event Exclusive Brachi, Ankyl should not be overlooked as a very solid option. Tryk & Dio are both great hybrids, and Local 1 only comes around every 4 months Maxima was gutted a bit recently but still runs very rampant in the arena. You really can't go wrong with whichever you choose here and will want to lean on your personal goals. Our community is fairly split in the voting poll. One thing we've seen mentioned often is disappointment that Diplod was not voted one of the options.

Featured Creatures: Unique

Sunday: 1 Attempt

  • Ardentismaxima (Event Exclusive)
  • Mammolania (Event Exclusive)
  • Utarinex (Event Exclusive)

Here we are with another Unique Sunday at hand. Surprisingly, as of writing, Lania is leading our community poll by a small hair over Maxima with Rinex quite far behind. We'd set Maxima a hair ahead of Lania due to (a) requiring an exclusive component and (b) usefulness in raids. What are some reasons our Discord members have for their top choice?

Player Delta states, "Well my Mammolania is already 30, so I plan to dart Maxima because it's good for raids and almost 30. As for Rinex, it's level 22 and not going to be useful for me in any way, any time soon." DreX is along those same lines with a max Lania and no interest in Rinex. SonicNTGD, however, feels differently and expressed, "Utarinex is fun, therefore I go for it. I have Gemini for raids, and I'm planning on switching Mammolania out for Entelolania." Finally, Mara told us, "Unique? Conflicted. I want to dart Utarinex, but I may go for Mammloania because I don't have her unlocked. Ardentis isn't even an option because I said to myself it'll be the last hybrid I unlock."

So there you can see different player thoughts around their approach. Want to share yours with us? Join our Discord via the link below and get in on the Sunday conversation!

Strike Events, Trials, Scents, Treasure Chase, and Hybrid Pursuit!

Strike Events & Trials

Strike Events and Trials are also Blossom Festival Themed, and with successful completion you can receive the same Common, Rare, and Epic creatures that are available at Event Drops. "Fight them with creatures with healing abilities" was mentioned in a forum post announcing Blossom Festival.

The themed strike on Friday will feature the Event Exclusive Allo2. On Tuesday, we have an Epic Strike and on Sunday, an Epic Trial. Finally, we've got the regularly scheduled Boost Strikes on Tuesday (Attack), Thursday (HP), and Saturday (Speed).

Scents

There is a basic scent strike on Monday, and the themed scent on Thursday looks to be Amphibian. When activated, this scent can draw the following creatures:

  • Dimetrodon Gen 2 (Common)
  • Diplocaulus Gen 2 (Common)
  • Ophiacodon (Common)
  • Dimetrodon (Rare)
  • Diplocaulus (Rare)
  • Koolasuchus Gen 2 (Rare)
  • Koolasuchus (Epic)
  • Secondontosaurus (Epic)

Treasure Chase

On Sunday, we return to the standard treasure chase where the chests refresh hourly for you to collect up to 25,000 coins. The chests reset at 8pm Eastern, so you have a chance at a total of 50,000 if you can max both periods of time.

Hybrid Pursuit

This week begins another round of Entelochops pursuit, so keep your eyes out for the Rare Enteledon!

Free Cash Link

GamePress is excited to be able to provide weekly cash links worth $50 cash in game! The code can only be claimed once a week and you must click on it using the device you play JWA with. It will be active from Monday, 12 PM EST - Sunday, 12 PM EST every week. This is a promotional code provided courtesy of Ludia, Inc and is exclusive to GamePress. We will post this link in an article we publish each week. We will post all articles on our Twitter so follow us at NewsJWA on Twitter so you don't miss out!

If you enjoy our content, please help let others know this is the source of the cash links people just post for the taking all over social media. The same goes for YouTubers PokeFodder, Gaming Beaver, and Gaming Ells. All links have a purpose behind them, and that is to promote some kind of media and drive traffic. Most people simply do not know there is actually a purpose behind these links, and we'd like to try to educate as many as we can. Take a moment to politely explain this in these posts. It isn't free money some random stranger on the internet whipped up. Every time these links are shared, it is taking opportunity away from an intended purpose. Please think about that or maybe find some time to visit Gaming Beaver, PokeFodder, Gaming Ells, GamePress JWA, and the Ludia social medias.

*We can not control when Ludia officially deploys these links, but these are the times they are planned to be active.
