Weekly Calendar Explained
Before we dive in to the week, we'll break down how the weekly event calendar works. First, each day is considered started at 10am Eastern on that day. It is possible that wherever you live, it might actually be the previous or next day, so we wanted to help clarify how they determine what day it is. At this time, event creatures & strike towers will be updated as applicable. This information is also noted on the calendar.
Ever wonder why some weeks we’re given 45 attempts on commons and others only 18 or 27? The reason for this is that the volume of attempts is a simple math calculation based on the rarity and number of options. Take the rarity base number and multiply by the number of options and voila, you have your total allowed attempts! Having more variety in the options yields that many more attempts. The flip side is it may be more difficult to find the creature(s) you favor. Below details the number of attempts assigned to each rarity which is used to determine how many attempts you receive (though occasionally, they stray from this math). This is the total you are allotted across all options, so it is important to select your choices wisely.
- Common = 9 per
- Rare = 6 per
- Epic = 3 per
- Legendary/Unique = 1 total
They recently started putting the number of attempts on the calendar again and sometimes stray from the above. Refer to the calendar for the confirmed counts. Each rarity has a different length of time the spawn lasts followed by a different length of time until respawn after despawn. Commons and Rares will last 1 hour with about 5 minutes between. Epics last 2 hours with about 5 minutes in between.
All strikes and trials are represented on the calendar with the level of difficulty along with how long they last (1 day or 2 days). The trials are shown along the very bottom in gray boxes.
Featured Creatures: Commons
Monday - Tuesday: 27 Attempts
- Coelurosauravus (Park Day/Dawn/Dusk) (Coelhaast)
- Eremotherium (Local 3 Day/Dawn/Dusk) (Eremocerus)
- Majungasaurus (Local 2 Day/Dawn/Dusk) (Majundasuchus>Majundaboa)
Repeat after me. Coel! Coel! Coel! Why, you ask? Let us count the reasons. First, this is one of the newest creatures in the game and can only be found in parks during day/dawn/dusk. Majunga has been around since day 1, and Eremo has been around and featured enough that you should feel good about your stash. Second, did you face a Coelhaast in tourney this past weekend? They are borderline unstoppable in that format. Third, have you created and/or evolved Coel yet? They do backflips which is just super adorable.
However, 27 is a lot of attempts over a couple days, and you may prefer not investing extra time seeking out any in particular. In that case, dart whatever conveniently crosses your path.
Featured Creatures: Rares
Wednesday - Thursday: 24 Attempts
- Archaeopteryx (Local 3 Day/Dawn/Dusk)
- Baryonyx Gen 2 (Local 2 Anytime) (Spinonyx>Erlikospyx)
- Compsognathus Gen 2 (Local 4 Anytime)
- Postosuchus (Local 4 Dawn/Dusk/Night) (Postimetrodon>Tryostronix)
First, it's important to note we only have two days to do our Rare attempts this week due to the Legendary on Sunday. Make sure you complete by 10am Eastern on Friday, as you don't want to miss out on any.
Your top choice here will be Archaeopteryx with Compy 2 a close second. With 24 attempts over 2 days, you might even split them over both. Flocks seem to be making their way as a new kind of mini meta, and Opty is brand spanking new. We've seen Compy2 featured a few times over the past few months, but it can't hurt to add to your stockpile for the possibility of a furture hybrid.
Bary2 and Posto aren't terrible choices. Espyx still has value in arena, and Tryos is great for raiding. They have just been around much longer, so we'd prefer the other choices.
Featured Creatures: Epics
Friday - Saturday: 9 Attempts
- Dodo (Park Anytime) (Dodocevia)
- Kentrosaurus (Park Anytime) (Ankytrosaurus>Trykosaurus)
- Woolly Mammoth (Local 2 Anytime) (Entelemoth>Entelolania, Mammotherium>Mammolania, Tsintamoth)
Our top suggestion this week will be Dodo. Truly, it's effectively flocks or bust when it comes to our recommendations. Like the others, it has been around the least amount of time. Also, Dodocevia is a top line Legendary when boosted. We know several players at the top of the leaderboard who are using this Legendary on their arena team. And it will be eligible for 2 out of the 3 Advantage tournaments in August. Cwheels tells me some top players have removed it not because it's bad but because that's what they chose to replace Cornibus for. However, depending where you are in the arena, you may not be running in to as many Cornibus which keeps DodoC very viable.
The other two options aren't tragic. You may still have an affinity for Tryk, and you will need your Kentros to get that done. And suddenly Mammoth is feeding about eleventy billion hybrids, so you'll need a slew of this if you want to work on all this hyrbid hero has to offer.
Featured Creatures: Legendaries
Sunday: 1 Attempt
- Coelhaast (Event Exclusive)
- Mammotherium (Event Exclusive) (Mammolania)
Migration week concludes with one Legendary attempt. If you've read all my words thus far, you'll be expecting that we suggest Coelhaast as your choice. And that would be accurate. Like the others, it's new, and one of its parts is Event Exclusive. You can get the Therium DNA via raid every week, and its parts are available in the wild.

Free Cash Link
GamePress is excited to be able to provide weekly cash links worth $50 cash in game! The code can only be claimed once a week and you must click on it using the device you play JWA with. It will be active from Monday, 12 PM EST - Sunday, 12 PM EST every week. This is a promotional code provided courtesy of Ludia, Inc and is exclusive to GamePress. We will post this link in an article we publish each week. We will post all articles on our Twitter so follow us at NewsJWA on Twitter so you don't miss out!
If you enjoy our content, please help let others know this is the source of the cash links people just post for the taking all over social media. The same goes for YouTubers PokeFodder and Gaming Beaver. All links have a purpose behind them, and that is to promote some kind of media and drive traffic. Most people simply do not know there is actually a purpose behind these links, and we'd like to try to educate as many as we can. Take a moment to politely explain this in these posts. It isn't free money some random stranger on the internet whipped up. Every time these links are shared, it is taking opportunity away from an intended purpose. Please think about that or maybe find some time to visit Gaming Beaver, PokeFodder, Gaming Ells, GamePress JWA, and the Ludia social medias.
*We can not control when Ludia officially deploys these links, but these are the times they are planned to be active.
