JWA Weekly Event December 14-December 20: Lockdown & Self Increase

Introduction

Explorers! We've got a week of lockdown & self increase ahead of us. Let's go over what we recommend to dart as well as everything else you need to know!

Featured Creatures: Commons

Monday - Tuesday: 27 Attempts

  • Purussaurus Gen 2 (Local 2 Day/Dawn/Dusk)
  • Sarchosuchus (Battle Exclusive)
  • Suchomimus (Battle Exclusive)

On a glance, these choices may seem underwhelming. However, just the fact two are exclusive adds appeal. On top of that, they are all key ingredients in hybrids you will find useful in this month's tournaments!

Purrolyth is one of the best Rare hybrids out there, and you'll need to invest a lot of Purissaurus G2 to create and build yours. This DNA was long time park exclusive and only recently was added to the local rotation. We really like this for an option but feel your others are slightly better.

On that same themed argument, Sarcorixis is probably the best creature in this month's tournament formats. It is also very viable on arena teams. Sarcosuchus has recently gone battle exclusive, and there is no saying how long it will be before it's accessible in the wild again. We're going to recommend this as your priority if you don't already have Sarcorixis created or want to continue to level it up.

Lastly, we have Suchomimus which also just recently became battle exclusive. After many weeks as a global spawn, there is a good chance you've already acquired a slew of this DNA. However, Suchomimus is used to create Suchotator which is needed for Thylacotator. Both of these creatures are usable in this month's tournaments. Thylacotator is quite possibly second best to Sarcorixis and another which is a viable arena teammate. We can't fault you if you would choose this to focus your attempts on.

Featured Creatures: Rares

Wednesday - Friday: 18 Attempts

  • Purussaurus (Park Anytime)
  • Scaphognathus (Battle Exclusive)
  • Spinosaurus (Global Anytime)

Purutaurus is a fairly necessary component of your December tournament teams, and you're going to need to stock up on Purussaurus for this one. It also goes on to create Legendary hybrid, Carnotarkus. Purussaurus wasn't available in the wild for a long time, and chances are you don't already have much of this DNA already stockpiled. Purrolyth is a fair substitute for Purutaurus, however, if you find one of the other options more appealing toward your goals.

Scaphognathus is the most exclusive of this bunch, an our typical standard is to throw our biggest recommendation based on that. However, there is much more immediate appeal to your other rare options this week. Scaphotator, the Epic hybrid created with Scaphognathus, isn't currently much to write home about. However, if you're just of a mindset to save up harder to get DNA, there's nothing wrong with that.

Lastly, there is Spinosaurus which can be taken in multiple directions. One one hand, you can use yours to create Epic hybrid Spinotahraptor and then on to Legendary hybrid, Spinotasuchus This lineage is of interest, as many players still seem to not realize their No Escape capability (aside from Spinotahsuchus). On your other hand, you have the Unique hybrid, Spinoconstrictor. No matter how you look at it, these options are going to cost very much Spinosaurus DNA. Being available everywhere, all the time, we'd recommend you prioritize Purussaurus.

Featured Creatures: Epics

Saturday - Sunday: 9 Attempts

  • Darwinopterus (Global Anytime)
  • Gryposuchus (Global Anytime)
  • Spinosaurus Gen 2 (Global Dawn/Dusk)

This week feels like tough decisions for the same reasons as last. None of these three really stands out in this crowd, all with their own merits and great hybrids. This may just come down to your personal goals.

DarwinopterusGryposuchus both feed multiple hybrids, so you're going to need a lot for all that feeding. Gryposuchus alone is also a fine choice to over level and use for qualifying tournaments. We would give the edge to Gryposuchus here based on a major arena force, Grypolyth. However, if the name of your game is about bleeding, then you'll prefer Darwinopterus to work toward Stygidaryx and/or Pterovexus

Spinosaurus G2 is another excellent choice, feeding Spinonyx and on to Erlikospyx. Erlikospyx has made a big comeback on arena teams recently. If you've faced one and don't have a resilient counter, you know what a tough little broad she can be. An overleveled Spinosaurus G2 can cause major headaches in qualified tournaments, particularly as many players still haven't caught on to it possessing "No Escape".

12 Days of T Rex!

12 Days of T Rex!

Treasure Chase

The treasure chase continues on Saturday & (hopefully) Sunday. You get once chance each for between 500 and 2,500 coins with distance not mattering. Along with the holiday theme, you can also receive Boosts from the chests as well as the possibility of an Emote! It has been confirmed that their intent is only for one pop per day. We can only hope they have plans to eventually change this to the original treasure chase where they refreshed throughout the day and offered much more opportunity at free coins.

Hybrid Pursuit

This Week continues the Dracoceratosaurus pursuit, so keep your eyes out for the global spawn, Triceratops Gen 2!
