JWA Weekly Event February 1-February 7: Fierce

Submit Feedback or Error

Introduction

Explorers! This week feels to piggy back off last week with a Fierce theme. It will be another fun week to collect DNA including some exclusive. Each set provides some great options, so let's go over what our Discord community is thinking and what we'll recommend to dart as well as everything else you need to know!

Weekly Calendar Explained

Before we dive in to the week, we'll break down how the weekly event calendar works. First, each day is considered started at 10am Eastern on that day. It is possible that wherever you live, it might actually be the previous or next day, so we wanted to help clarify how they determine what day it is. At this time, event creatures & strike towers will be updated as applicable. This information is also noted on the calendar.

Ever wonder why some weeks we’re given 45 attempts on commons and others only 18 or 27? The reason for this is that the volume of attempts is a simple math calculation based on the rarity and number of options. Take the rarity base number and multiply by the number of options and voila, you have your total allowed attempts! Having more variety in the options yields that many more attempts. The flip side is it may be more difficult to find the creature(s) you favor. Below details the number of attempts assigned to each rarity which is used to determine how many attempts you receive (though occasionally, they stray from this math). This is the total you are allotted across all options, so it is important to select your choices wisely.

  • Common = 9 per
  • Rate = 6 per
  • Epic = 3 per
  • Legendary/Unique = 1 total

Each rarity has a different length of time the spawn lasts followed by a different length of time until respawn after despawn. Commons will last 1 hour with about 5 minutes between, Rares last 3 hours with about 15 minutes in between, and Epics last 6 hours with upward of 30 minutes in between.

All strikes are represented on the calendar with the level of difficulty along with how long they last (1 day or 2 days). The calendar does not show trials, but those do not tend to vary week by week.

Featured Creatures: Commons

Monday - Tuesday: 36 Attempts

  • Archaeotherium (Monday)
  • Irritator Gen 2 (Sunday)
  • Purussaurus Gen 2 (Local 2 Day/Dawn/Dusk)
  • Sarcosuchus (Battle Exclusive)

New for 2021, we are reaching out to our Discord community to find out what they're planning to dart. We can't presume to understand what it's like to be at any given level of the game and hope this added input will be beneficial. If you aren't joined to our Discord, there is a link a few sections below, come on in!

So what are the people saying? The people are saying we want gators! Pur2 and Sarco are leading the way by quite a lot though about equally selected. We last had a Fierce week at the start of November, and that did not feature these two long snouted chompers. We are going to give our nod to Sarco based on our rule of exclusivity. It only helps that Sacrco will build you one of the gnarliest hybrids, Sarcorixis. We won't be seeing Rixis in this month's tournaments, but this one will remain a staple in qualified tourneys so long as its kit isn't changed.

We like the idea of Pur2 as an option enough. If you encountered any highly leveled Purrolyth's this past weekend, you may want to build one of your own. A long time park spawn and now cordoned to a local you may only see every 4 months, it's very possible you're aching for more of this gator. It certainly wouldn't be a poor choice to go with Pur2 in that event. Purrolyth is also required to assemble the mighty Grypolyth. However, we currently receive small doses of Grypo DNA via raids, so maybe the long route of fusing isn't your ideal.

Lastly we have the other two, Archae & Irritator2. These carry a small sense of exclusivity, as they are each only available one day a week. We still would hang our hats on either of the gators over these two options.

Featured Creatures: Rares

Wednesday - Friday: 18 Attempts

  • Dimetrodon (Global Anytime)
  • Gorgosaurus (Thursday)
  • Tyrannosaurs Rex Gen 2 (Global Day/Dawn/Dusk)

Our rare choices this week are pretty solid, and the community is all over Dime. We feel Dime or Gorgo are your top choices here, mostly due to the hybrids they feed & Gorgo being a little more scarce as a Thursday spawn. Gorgo on its own because super fierce in a recent update, and many have over leveled to dominate Rare tournaments. You quite possibly ran in to some this past weekend, and they will be back in February. Dime is a key component of raid darling, Tryostrinix, so it's a good idea to stock up if you're wanting to build a big one. By no means is TRex2 a bad choice, but there feels to be better outcomes from the other two.

Featured Creatures: Epics

Saturday - Sunday: 9 Attempts

  • Allosaurus Gen 2 (Event Exclusive)
  • Concavenator (Local 1 Anytime)
  • Secodontosaurus (Local 3 Anytime)

It will come as no surprise that (a) the community heavily favors Allo2 and (b) so do we. Secondo lags heavily behind but has some support, and not one person has said they are planning Concave. Back when we had Fierce in November, they actually had TRex out instead of Secondo. Here is what I said back then, and it holds true now: If you read these often enough, you know our main recommendation here is going to be the Event Exclusive, Allo2. The other options certainly are enticing, and if you can fast track a personal goal by choosing either, then there's no harm in doing so. All three options are also great on their own in qualifying tournaments. I personally have a high level Concave and very much enjoy using it.

Strike Events, Trials, Scents, Treasure Chase, and Hybrid Pursuit!

Strike Events & Trials

Strike Events and Trials are also Fierce themed and will reward the same DNA you will find at the event drops. On Friday, we have another Epic Strike featuring the mighty Acrocanthosaurus. Over the Weekend, we'll also get an Epic Trial. On Sunday we have an Epic Fierce Strike. Finally, we've got the regularly scheduled Boost Strikes on Tuesday (Attack), Thursday (HP), and Saturday (Speed).

Scents

The Themed Scent of this week looks to be Pterosauria Scent. This scent can draw any of the following creatures:

  • Dimorphodon
  • Hatzegopteryx
  • Arambourgiania
  • Dsungaripterus
  • Quetzalcoatlus
  • Scaphognathus
  • Tupandactylus
  • Alanqa
  • Darwinopeterus
  • Pteranodon

Treasure Chase

The calendar only shows treasure chase on Sunday this week. We will be able to chase the treasures through the day! With this set up, the chests are refreshed throughout the day and offer up to 25,000 free coins. We just need to cross our fingers that they aren't so sparse as they were this past weekend.

Hybrid Pursuit

This week continues the Entelolania pursuit, so keep your eyes out for the Epic Woolly Mammoth

Tournament & Daily Dino Info

Our daily dino for the month of February is Carbonemys, so be sure to complete your missions daily to collect your DNA!

The first weekend of the Quetzorion ACs will be Common/Rare (No Hybrids) Skills tournament for COINS. Typically, when we have the coins tournament, we can expect the Sunday sale to be FIP bundles. Plan your sanctuaries accordingly!
