JWA Weekly Event June 28 - July 4: Feathers & Fireworks

Introduction

Explorers! First, I'd like to thank Piere87 for covering for me while I had some wonderful time away last week. I'm back and ready to write, as this week brings us Feathers & Fireworks. Let's go over what our Discord community is thinking, what we'll recommend to dart, and everything else you need to know.

Weekly Calendar Explained

Before we dive in to the week, we'll break down how the weekly event calendar works. First, each day is considered started at 10am Eastern on that day. It is possible that wherever you live, it might actually be the previous or next day, so we wanted to help clarify how they determine what day it is. At this time, event creatures & strike towers will be updated as applicable. This information is also noted on the calendar.

Ever wonder why some weeks we’re given 45 attempts on commons and others only 18 or 27? The reason for this is that the volume of attempts is a simple math calculation based on the rarity and number of options. Take the rarity base number and multiply by the number of options and voila, you have your total allowed attempts! Having more variety in the options yields that many more attempts. The flip side is it may be more difficult to find the creature(s) you favor. Below details the number of attempts assigned to each rarity which is used to determine how many attempts you receive (though occasionally, they stray from this math). This is the total you are allotted across all options, so it is important to select your choices wisely.

  • Common = 9 per
  • Rare = 6 per
  • Epic = 3 per
  • Legendary/Unique = 1 total

They recently started putting the number of attempts on the calendar again and sometimes stray from the above. Refer to the calendar for the confirmed counts. Each rarity has a different length of time the spawn lasts followed by a different length of time until respawn after despawn. Commons and Rares will last 1 hour with about 5 minutes between. Epics last 2 hours with about 5 minutes in between.

All strikes and trials are represented on the calendar with the level of difficulty along with how long they last (1 day or 2 days). The trials are shown along the very bottom in gray boxes.

Featured Creatures: Commons

Monday - Tuesday: 27 Attempts

  • Deinocheirus (Global Anytime) (Diloracheirus)
  • Gallimimus (Local 1 Anytime) (Monomimus>Pterovexus, Aquilamimus)
  • Phorusrhacos (Local 3 Day/Dawn/Dusk) (Velosrhacos, Phorusaura)

New for 2021, we are reaching out to our Discord community to find out what they're planning to dart. We can't presume to understand what it's like to be at any given level of the game and hope this added input will be beneficial. If you aren't joined to our Discord, there is a link a few sections below, come on in!

As is fairly common with the, well, commons, your best bet may just be to dart whatever crosses your path. This is what the vast majority of our Discord community responded they plan to do in our weekly poll. None of these options truly stands out over the others. If we were to rank them in an order, it might be Phoru, Galli, Deino. We don't feel strongly enough to give you any reasons to choose any over any other, and maybe I feel a little glad to phone this one in coming off my vacation.

Featured Creatures: Rares

Wednesday - Thursday: 18 Attempts

  • Erlikosaurus Gen 2 (Global Anytime) (Erlikogamma, Erlikospyx)
  • Haast Eagle Gen 2 (Wednesday) (Aquilamimus)
  • Kelenken (Event Exclusive) (Grylenken)

Before we evaluate these options, it is important to note that once again, we only have TWO DAYS to complete our Rare attempts. Be sure to finish by 10am Eastern on Friday, so you do not miss out.

Using our typical "scale of exclusivity", our order of recommendation would come to be Kel, Haast2, Erlik2. However, we can really see much reason to make Erlik2 your top choice despite its global presence. Aquilamimus & Grylenken aren't often seen at this time, whereas Espyx continues to hang around as we are starting to witness a rise in cunning creatures (at least in Nublar Shores). Kelenken is a great tournament option when over leveled and boosted, and we've never had very much access to this bird (prior to being Event Exclusive, it would only appear during Dawn & Dusk). Looking at the options from those angles, this would make Haast2 the least appealing at this time. our Discord community is feeling the same with Erlik2 leading the way, Kelenken a close second, and only one person with their eye on Haast2

This feels another instance where you might just dart whatever crosses your path since we just have two days for all 18 attempts.

Featured Creatures: Epics

Friday - Saturday: 9 Attempts

  • Dodo (Park Anytime) (Dodocevia)
  • Erlikosaurus (Global Day/Dawn/Dusk) (Erlidominus)
  • Haast Eagle (Event Exclusive) (Poukaidei>Poukandactylus)

Once again, we aren't going to settle with our rule of exclusivity, as we will point you toward those cute little Dodos as your top choice (also the top choice in our Discord poll). Haast is by no means a bad choice mostly due to being event exclusive. However, we aren't seeing much of Poukandactylus in the arena at this time. Spoiler alert, we also have a chance to dart one on Sunday. Poukan does have raid presence in my personal favorite Ceramagnus strategy, so it might be worth at least creating if you haven't yet. We wouldn't recommend spending any attempts on Erlik, as this one is global and Edom isn't the force it once was. Though if we continue to see a rise in Cunning options, we may also see a return of this once super deadly feathered foe.

Featured Creatures: Unique

Sunday: 1 Attempt

  • Erlikospyx (Event Exclusive)
  • Poukandactylus (Event Exclusive)

If you don't already have Espyx maxed, then this should be your choice. As previously mentioned, there is still arena presence and the possibility of growth if we continue to see a rise in cunning creatures. Poukan is not a bad choice by any means. No unique ever is. As also mentioned earlier, there is a great Ceramagnus strategy using a Level 21 Poukan. A solid darting session can get you well on your way to your very own if you have not created this one yet

Strike Events, Trials, Scents, Treasure Chase, and Hybrid Pursuit!

Strike Events & Trials

Strike Events and Trials will be Fireworks themed and will reward the following with successful completion:

  • Ankylosaurus Gen 2 (Common)
  • Dimetrodon Gen 2 (Common)
  • Einiosaurus (Common)
  • Scolosaurus (Common)
  • Dimetrodon (Rare)
  • Dracorex (Rare)
  • Tuojiangosaurus (Rare)
  • Allosaurus Gen 2 (Epic)
  • Sinoceratops (Epic)
  • Titanoboa (Epic)

We have multiple dino specific strikes this week again, this seems to be the new normal. On Wednesday, we will have an Albertosaurus strike in honor of (and a day before) Canada Day. The strike on Friday will feature the park locked Kentrosaurus. Finally, we've got the regularly scheduled Boost Strikes on Tuesday (Attack), Thursday (HP), and Saturday (Speed).

Scents

There is a basic scent strike on Monday, and the themed scent on Thursday will be Fireworks. This can draw the same creatures as featured in the strikes & trials listed above.

Treasure Chase

On Sunday, we will have the treasure chase where the chests refresh hourly for you to collect up to 25,000 coins! The boxes reset at 8pm Eastern, so you actually have a chance for up to 50,000 cons if you are able to max both time frames.

Hybrid Pursuit

This week will be a special Albertosaurus pursuit in honor of Canada Day. This creature looks to be especially strong, so fire up those gigas and acquire as much as you can.

Daily Dino & Tournament Info

This will be our final week with Bumpy as our daily reward as well as Event Exclusive Nasutoceratops as our season reward.

Ludia took us by surprise and though we are repeating another Alliance Championship, they did not continue the order from 2020. This month will be all about the mighty Geminititan with the final week being an all Hybrid Advantage tournament for Event Exclusive DIPLOD DNA!

Free Cash Link

GamePress is excited to be able to provide weekly cash links worth $50 cash in game! The code can only be claimed once a week and you must click on it using the device you play JWA with. It will be active from Monday, 12 PM EST - Sunday, 12 PM EST every week. This is a promotional code provided courtesy of Ludia, Inc and is exclusive to GamePress. We will post this link in an article we publish each week. We will post all articles on our Twitter so follow us at NewsJWA on Twitter so you don't miss out!

If you enjoy our content, please help let others know this is the source of the cash links people just post for the taking all over social media. The same goes for YouTubers PokeFodder, Gaming Beaver, and Gaming Ells. All links have a purpose behind them, and that is to promote some kind of media and drive traffic. Most people simply do not know there is actually a purpose behind these links, and we'd like to try to educate as many as we can. Take a moment to politely explain this in these posts. It isn't free money some random stranger on the internet whipped up. Every time these links are shared, it is taking opportunity away from an intended purpose. Please think about that or maybe find some time to visit Gaming Beaver, PokeFodder, Gaming Ells, GamePress JWA, and the Ludia social medias.

*We can not control when Ludia officially deploys these links, but these are the times they are planned to be active.
