Explorers! Ludia is bringing us dual themes this week highlighting Hybrid Showcase coupled with a "We Can Save Them" event. Each set provides some great options and tough choices, so let's go over what our Discord community is thinking and what we'll recommend to dart as well as everything else you need to know!
Weekly Calendar Explained
Before we dive in to the week, we'll break down how the weekly event calendar works. First, each day is considered started at 10am Eastern on that day. It is possible that wherever you live, it might actually be the previous or next day, so we wanted to help clarify how they determine what day it is. At this time, event creatures & strike towers will be updated as applicable. This information is also noted on the calendar.
Ever wonder why some weeks we’re given 45 attempts on commons and others only 18 or 27? The reason for this is that the volume of attempts is a simple math calculation based on the rarity and number of options. Take the rarity base number and multiply by the number of options and voila, you have your total allowed attempts! Having more variety in the options yields that many more attempts. The flip side is it may be more difficult to find the creature(s) you favor. Below details the number of attempts assigned to each rarity which is used to determine how many attempts you receive (though occasionally, they stray from this math). This is the total you are allotted across all options, so it is important to select your choices wisely.
- Common = 9 per
- Rate = 6 per
- Epic = 3 per
- Legendary/Unique = 1 total
Each rarity has a different length of time the spawn lasts followed by a different length of time until respawn after despawn. Commons will last 1 hour with about 5 minutes between, Rares last 3 hours with about 15 minutes in between, and Epics last 6 hours with upward of 30 minutes in between.
All strikes are represented on the calendar with the level of difficulty along with how long they last (1 day or 2 days). The calendar does not show trials, but those do not tend to vary week by week.
Featured Creatures: Commons
Monday - Tuesday: 36 Attempts
- Apatosaurus (Global Day/Dawn/Dusk) (Nodopatosaurus>Gigaspikasaur/Nodopatotitan/Stegodeus)
- Irritator Gen 2 (Sunday) (Diplotator>Scaphotator, Suchotator>Thylacotator)
- Nundasuchus (Thursday) (Einiasuchus>Sarcorixis, Majundasuchus>Majundaboa)
- Velociraptor (Global Anytime) (Indominus Rex>Erlidominus/Indoraptor, Indoraptor)
New for 2021, we are reaching out to our Discord community to find out what they're planning to dart. We can't presume to understand what it's like to be at any given level of the game and hope this added input will be beneficial. If you aren't joined to our Discord, there is a link a few sections below, come on in! Also, rather than ramble about what hybrid(s) these featured creatures are responsible for, we will now include that information alongside the spawn mechanics of each.
Our personal thoughts are that none of these four really stand out as a must have of the week. As it is a hybrid showcase, all are ultimately responsible for one to three super hybrids. At the time of writing, the community is pretty split over Nunda and Velo as top choices. We can certainly understand about Nunda as (a) it is day locked (meaning only available one day a week) and (b) a component of the extremely strong, Sarcorixis. With regards to Velo, boy howdy do you need a ton if you are wanting both Edom & Indoraptor. Though this one is available everywhere, all the time, it can't hurt to build your stockpile.
There is most certainly a solid case to be made for Irritator2. There was a time that this was an exclusive creature, and I believe it was the first they chose to break out in to the wild. It was made a big deal and then almost felt like a nuisance (though it was helpful for darting missions). Well, recently they have locked it back up to only be available one day of the week, same as Nunda. With Irritator2, we have another formidable Epic hybrid in Thyla. Even Suchotator can be a force in Rare Hybrid formats. We wouldn't invest this DNA on the Diplotator side at this time, you're just as well to hope you cross one in the wild.
Lastly, of the four, we'd say Apato should be lowest on your list. While it feeds the most super hybrids of any, those aren't very appealing. Deus had its time before the modifications to Superiority Strike, but these days it's a rare sight.
When we have a week like this, your ultimate plan might simply be to dart whatever crosses your path. 36 is a lot of attempts over two days, and you may be better off not investing extra time seeking out any in particular.
Featured Creatures: Rares
Wednesday - Friday: 18 Attempts
- Nodosaurus (Local 2 Dawn/Dusk/Night) (Nodopatosaurus>Gigaspikasaur/Nodopatotitan/Stegodeus)
- Tyrannosaurus Rex Gen 2 (Global Day/Dawn/Dusk) (Indominus Rex Gen 2>Indoraptor Gen 2, Tyrannolophosaur>Tenontorex)
- Utahraptor (Global Anytime) (Spinotahraptor>Spinotasuchus, Utasinoraptor>Utarinex)
With our Rares, we have another group where nothing really jumps out seemingly as a priority over the othes. We just had attempts at Nodo last week. Again, we recommend to walk right past because this doesn't feel worth the time. The Superhybrids could be cool one day, but today they are not. Unless your main goal/mission is to fill your dex and you are missing any of these, you are better off with the other two options.
Our community is all over TRex2. With TenRex appearing on a plethora of raid strategies and also very present in arena, this comes as no surprise. You're going to find less use for the Utah hybrids. But like the Commons, you're not going completely wrong with any of these choices. Spread them out how you feel best fits your goals or even dart to donate.
Featured Creatures: Epics
Saturday - Sunday: 9 Attempts
- Sinoceratops (Local 1 Anytime) (Allosinosaurus>Thoradolosaur, Utasinoraptor>Utarinex)
- Tyrannosaurus Rex (Global Anytime) (Indominus Rex>Erlidominus, Indoraptor>Trykosaurus)
- Woolly Mammoth (Local 2 Anytime) (Entelemoth>Entelolania, Mammotherium>Mammolania)
The Rexes have it, as our community is also showing more votes for the classic Epic version. Tryk is the perennial king, forever top of the heap. You will need tens of thousands of Rex to max level the entire line. Sure, you can find this one everywhere, all the time, but that's not enough for us to try and steer you away.
The community is about split between Mammoth and Sino, both of which are fine choices. In this current meta, you are more likely to run in to Thor than Lania. A properly boosted Thor can also be very useful in many raid strategies. Like the others, there really isn't a wrong decision among these choices.

There is no themed scent strike listed on the weekly calendar. It also only shows the standard scent strike on Monday (we usually also have one on Saturday).
On Sunday, we will be able to chase the treasures through the day! With this set up, the chests are refreshed throughout the day and offer up to 25,000 free coins. We just need to cross our fingers that they aren't so sparse as recently.
This week begins the Velosrhacos pursuit, so keep your eyes out for the Rare Delta!

March is here, bring on the daily WOOLLY RHINOOOOOO. Be sure to complete your missions daily to collect your DNA!
It was finally confirmed that the March ACs are all about Monolorhino and its parts!
