JWA Weekly Event March 22-March 28: Debuff & Counter Attack

Submit Feedback or Error

Introduction

Explorers! This Weekly Event features are Debuff & Counter Attack. We had this exact same Debuff event back in October, so we'll revisit what we said then as well as add any fresh inisghts. Each set provides some great options, so let's go over what our Discord community is thinking and what we'll recommend to dart as well as everything else you need to know!

Weekly Calendar Explained

Before we dive in to the week, we'll break down how the weekly event calendar works. First, each day is considered started at 10am Eastern on that day. It is possible that wherever you live, it might actually be the previous or next day, so we wanted to help clarify how they determine what day it is. At this time, event creatures & strike towers will be updated as applicable. This information is also noted on the calendar.

Ever wonder why some weeks we’re given 45 attempts on commons and others only 18 or 27? The reason for this is that the volume of attempts is a simple math calculation based on the rarity and number of options. Take the rarity base number and multiply by the number of options and voila, you have your total allowed attempts! Having more variety in the options yields that many more attempts. The flip side is it may be more difficult to find the creature(s) you favor. Below details the number of attempts assigned to each rarity which is used to determine how many attempts you receive (though occasionally, they stray from this math). This is the total you are allotted across all options, so it is important to select your choices wisely.

  • Common = 9 per
  • Rate = 6 per
  • Epic = 3 per
  • Legendary/Unique = 1 total

Each rarity has a different length of time the spawn lasts followed by a different length of time until respawn after despawn. Commons will last 1 hour with about 5 minutes between, Rares last 3 hours with about 15 minutes in between, and Epics last 6 hours with upward of 30 minutes in between.

All strikes and trials are represented on the calendar with the level of difficulty along with how long they last (1 day or 2 days). The trials are shown along the very bottom in gray boxes.

Featured Creatures: Commons

Monday - Tuesday: 36 Attempts

  • Deinonychus (Global Anytime) (Poukaidei>Poukandactylus)
  • Diplocaulus (Park Day/Dawn/Dusk) (Diplotator>Scaphotator)
  • Inostrancevia (Local 1 Day/Dawn/Dusk) (Inostherium, Edaphocevia)
  • Monolophosaurus Gen 2 (Local 4 Anytime) (Monolometrodon>Monolorhino)

New for 2021, we are reaching out to our Discord community to find out what they're planning to dart. We can't presume to understand what it's like to be at any given level of the game and hope this added input will be beneficial. If you aren't joined to our Discord, there is a link a few sections below, come on in!

Rather than ramble about what hybrid(s) these featured creatures are responsible for, we will now include that information alongside the spawn mechanics of each.

The Commons for this week are all useful for various reason, but we're going to pitch Mono2 as the one to go for. And our Discord community couldn't agree more, as Mono2 is running away with the votes. Monolorhino is a major force who won't be getting a nerf in 2.6 (in fact, it receives a slight buff), and you will need tons of Mono2 for that investment. Mono2 is currently an anytime Local 4 spawn and not as easily accessible as the anytime, global spawn that is Deinonychus ("Nike"). Coupling this with our daily personal mission rewards, this week's tournament, and the total Alliance Championship rewards, you can be well on your way to a high level MRhino. I remember taking lengthy jogs back in October in order to complete all 36 Mono2 attempts. It was well worth that time, and my heart continues to thank me for it!

Diplocaulus is currently a Day/Dawn/Dusk park spawn. One visit to your local park would likely net you plenty of this little green lizard, so we don’t advise you choose this for any of your attempts. Neither will our community, as of writing this, poor little green slimeball has nobody planning to dart it.

Lastly, we have Inostrancevia. This seems to be the second best of the choices, as it now feeds two hybrids (Legendary Edaphocevia and Rare Inostherium). Our community has this voted just ahead of Nike All in all, we’d still highly suggest you prioritize Mono2 as your Common choice.

Featured Creatures: Rares

Wednesday - Friday: 18 Attempts

  • Dilophosaurus (Event Exclusive) (Ovilophosaurus, Diloranosaurus>Diloracheirus)
  • Diplocaulus Gen 2 (Local 4 Anytime) (Diplovenator>Antarctovenator)
  • Koolasuchus Gen 2 (Global Day/Dawn/Dusk) (Koolabourgiana>Geminititan)

Ahhh it feels good to once again have three days to dart our Rares. We’re going to side with the typical “target the exclusive” when it comes to your Rare choices this week. That would be the event exclusive Dilophosaurus. Obviously it is the hardest to come by, but it also feeds multiple hybrids, one of which has a super hybrid and the other which one day could be given one. However, choosing either of the others would not be any kind of mistake.

Diplo2, a local 4 anytime spawn, fuses to create the Legendary Diplovenator which can be a major force if you’ve ever seen one. The superhybrid, Antarctovenator, is receiving some buff love in update 2.6 as well. Koola2 is a component of Koolabourgiana which is needed for Queen Geminititan. At 200 per fuse, you’ll burn through Koola2 in no time. However, Koola2 is a Day/Dawn/Dusk global spawn and probably a bit easier to hunt than Diplo2. Our Discord community actually has the votes running away for Koola2 with Dilo a good click behind. Diplo2 is hanging with its first generation pretty well unwanted.

Featured Creatures: Epics

Saturday - Sunday: 9 Attempts

  • Koolasuchus (Global Dawn/Dusk/Night) (Skoolasaurus>Skoonasaurus)
  • Monolophosaurus (Local 3 Dawn/Dusk/Night) (Monomimus, Pterovexus>Monostegotops)
  • Pyroraptor (Local 2 Anytime) (Pyrritator>Magnapyritor)

The Epic choices this week are all solid, so you’ll want to evaluate your personal goals in order to choose. If you are working on Magnapyritor, Pyroraptor is your obvious choice here. You'd also be feelin what the community is feelin, as the vast majority are after fire.

Koola1, being a global spawn, ideally will not be your target here. However, it might be your preference if you are wanting to build and level Skoolasaurus to 20 which is a component of a 4 turn Pyrritator raid strategy.

Monolophosaurus is key for two amazing hybrids, Legendary Monostegoceratops and Unique Pterovexus. This will be my personal choice, as Mono1 has always been a challenge for me to find.

Hybrid Pursuit

This week concludes the Eremoceros pursuit, so keep your eyes out for the Epic Eucladoceros! This presents a great opportunity to get your 10 direct hits on an Epic with this deer.

Tournament & Daily Dino Info

The March madness continues with the daily WOOLLY RHINOOOOOO. Be sure to complete your missions daily to collect your DNA! Finish early and make whatever reminders you need, you do not want to miss even one day of this event exclusive DNA.

This brings week 3 of the Monolorhino Allance Championships! We will have a Rare/Epic (All) Advantage tournament for event exclusive Woolly Rhino DNA! This will be the double points tournament for the month. As this is a tournament which allows Epic Non-Hybrids, people will likely be trying to complete the Ankyl mission. If you see someone march one out, please be kind and try to give them that win. Good karma would really appreciate you doing so.

The same goes for YouTubers PokeFodder, Gaming Beaver, and Gaming Ells. All links have a purpose behind them, and that is to promote some kind of media and drive traffic. Most people simply do not know there is actually a purpose behind these links, and we'd like to try to educate as many as we can. Take a moment to politely explain this in these posts. It isn't free money some random stranger on the internet whipped up. Every time these links are shared, it is taking opportunity away from an intended purpose. Please think about that or maybe find some time to visit Gaming Beaver, PokeFodder, Gaming Ells, GamePress JWA, and the Ludia social medias.
