JWA Weekly Event Oct 25 - Oct 31: Halloween

Introduction

Explorers! This week we celebrate Halloween with the scariest creatures as voted by the community. In our eyes, the only thing scary is some of the decisions we will have to make in this amazing pool of choices! Let's go over what we'll recommend to dart and everything else you need to know!

Weekly Calendar Explained

Before we dive in to the week, we'll break down how the weekly event calendar works. First, each day is considered started at 10am Eastern on that day. It is possible that wherever you live, it might actually be the previous or next day, so we wanted to help clarify how they determine what day it is. At this time, event creatures & strike towers will be updated as applicable. This information is also noted on the calendar.

Ever wonder why some weeks we’re given 45 attempts on commons and others only 18 or 27? The reason for this is that the volume of attempts is a simple math calculation based on the rarity and number of options. Take the rarity base number and multiply by the number of options and voila, you have your total allowed attempts! Having more variety in the options yields that many more attempts. The flip side is it may be more difficult to find the creature(s) you favor. Below details the number of attempts assigned to each rarity which is used to determine how many attempts you receive (though occasionally, they stray from this math). This is the total you are allotted across all options, so it is important to select your choices wisely.

  • Common = 9 per
  • Rare = 6 per
  • Epic = 3 per
  • Legendary/Unique = 1 total

They recently started putting the number of attempts on the calendar again and sometimes stray from the above. Refer to the calendar for the confirmed counts. Each rarity has a different length of time the spawn lasts followed by a different length of time until respawn after despawn. Commons and Rares will last 1 hour with about 5 minutes between. Epics last 2 hours with about 5 minutes in between.

All strikes and trials are represented on the calendar with the level of difficulty along with how long they last (1 day or 2 days). The trials are shown along the very bottom in gray boxes.

Featured Creatures: Commons

Monday - Tuesday: 36 Attempts

  • Monolophosaurus Gen 2 (Local 4 Anytime) (Monolometrodon>Monolorhino, Scorpius Rex Gen 2>Scorpius Rex Gen 3)
  • Phorusrhacos (Local 3 Day/Dawn/Dusk) (Velosrhacos, Phorusaura>Phorurex)
  • Tarbosaurus (Global Anytime) (Thoradolosaur)
  • Velociraptor (Global Anytime) (Indominus Rex>Erlidominus/Indoraptor, Indoraptor)

This is really maybe the easiest of decisions we’ll have this week. Please don’t spend your time on Tarbo or Velo, they can both be found everywhere all the time. Plus Rhacos & Mono2 build significantly better hybrids (despite the massive rise in importance for Thor in raids). Neither Rhacos or Mono2 holds an edge over the other, though you’re going to need a ton more Mono2 if you have hopes of completing all the hybrids it feeds. As of writing, the majority of those who answered our Discord poll will be targeting Mono2.

Of course with 36 attempts over just two days, you might prefer to save some time and dart whatever crosses your path.

Featured Creatures: Rares

Wednesday - Thursday: 18 Attempts

  • Albertosaurus (Event Exclusive)
  • Carnotaurus (Friday ) (Purutaurus>Carnotarkus, Scorpius Rex Gen 2>Scorpius Rex Gen 3, Indotaurus)
  • Tyrannosaurus Rex Gen 2 (Global Day/Dawn/Dusk) (Indominus Rex Gen 2>Indoraptor Gen 2/Indotaurus, Tyrannolophosaur>Tenontorex)

On Wednesday, the tough choices begin. Albert is event exclusive, and Carno has recently become a hybrid feeding fiend. Carno also yields its own type of exclusivity being available only on Fridays. While TRex2 does also feed a ton of hybrids, but we do not advise choosing a global spawn over an event exclusive and day of the week locked. Carno is the top choice for our Discord community with Albert a fairly distant second.

Featured Creatures: Epics

Friday: 9 Attempts

  • Indominus Rex Gen 2 (Global Dawn/Dusk) (Indoraptor Gen 2, Indotaurus)
  • Scorpius Rex Gen 2 (Event Exclusive ) (Scorpius Rex Gen 3)
  • Titanoboa (Event Exclusive) (Dilophoboa>Spinoconstrictor)

When they say Epic, they do mean Epic in these options. Boa is event exclusive, and Spinocon has seen a recent rise in use. However, the two hybrids feed two of the newest and best Unique hybrids. We only have 6 attempts (despite 3 options) with one day to do them. You can’t go wrong with any of these and might be best suited to split your attempts up. One reason to maybe not choose Indom2 is that it can be found in the wild during dawn and dusk. Interestingly enough, Boa is leading our Discord poll with Indom2 in second and SR2 in third.

Featured Creatures: Legendaries

Saturday: 1 Attempt

  • Indominus Rex (Event Exclusive) (Erlidominus, Indoraptor)
  • Indoraptor Gen 2 (Event Exclusive)
  • Scorpius Rex (Event Exclusive)

Our Legendary choice isn’t super difficult, and we’d put SR at the top of the list. Sure it’s a weekly raid, but it’s the newest of the bunch and you likely have the least of it. Second, we’d suggest Indom just for the fact it does currently feed hybrids. Indo2 has seen its glory days in arena but dropped off since. It can be found in some raid strategies, but that’s the only real current use.

Featured Creatures: Uniques

Sunday: 1 Attempt

  • Phorurex (Event Exclusive)
  • Scorpius Rex Gen 3 (Event Exclusive)

Both of these Uniques are awesome, so it’s too bad we only get one attempt. We’d suggest you pick your favorite and go with it. Perhaps SR3 gets a small edge due to PhoRex being a weekly raid and this month’s Alliance Championships dino. Again, both are awesome, so don't be afraid of making a mistake with your choice.

Strike Events, Trials, Scents, Treasure Chase, and Hybrid Pursuit!

Strike Events & Trials

Strike Events & Trials will also be Halloween themed and can reward the same Common, Rare, and Epic creatures found at event drops (and in extremely rare cases, Legendary or Unique).

We will only have one dinosaur specific strike this week, an Epic strike on Friday that will feature Acrocanthosaurus! We've also got the regularly scheduled Boost Strikes on Wednesday (Attack), Thursday (HP), and Friday (Speed) with an emote strike on Tuesday and a Badge strike on Saturday.

Scents

We have a Halloween scent strike on Monday. This scent should draw the same Common, Rare, and Epic creatures found at event drops. Thursday will bring Carnivorous Therapod scent. This scent can draw the following creatures when activated:

  • Allosaurus (Common)
  • Tarbosaurus (Common)
  • Gorgosaurus (Rare)
  • Tyrannosaurus Rex Gen 2 (Rare)
  • Tyrannosaurus Rex (Epic)

Treasure Chase

On Sunday, we will have the treasure chase where the chests refresh hourly for you to collect up to 25,000 coins! The boxes reset at 8pm Eastern, so you actually have a chance for up to 50,000 coins if you are able to max both time frames.

Hybrid Pursuit

This week will conclude the Megistocurus pursuit with the Rare Doedicurus.

Daily Dino & Tournament Info

This will be the last week with our daily reward being Brachiosaurus and the arena reward as the extremely valuable, event-exclusive, Arctops

A brand new AC reward comes in this month in the form of Phorurex! The final week of this series will be for Battle Exclusive Maiasaura DNA!!!!!

Free Cash Link

GamePress is excited to be able to provide weekly cash links worth $50 cash in game! The code can only be claimed once a week and you must click on it using the device you play JWA with. It will be active from Monday, 12 PM EST - Sunday, 12 PM EST every week. This is a promotional code provided courtesy of Ludia, Inc and is exclusive to GamePress. We will post this link in an article we publish each week. We will post all articles on our Twitter so follow us at NewsJWA on Twitter so you don't miss out!

If you enjoy our content, please help let others know this is the source of the cash links people just post for the taking all over social media. The same goes for YouTubers PokeFodder, Gaming Beaver, and Gaming Ells. All links have a purpose behind them, and that is to promote some kind of media and drive traffic. Most people simply do not know there is actually a purpose behind these links, and we'd like to try to educate as many as we can. Take a moment to politely explain this in these posts. It isn't free money some random stranger on the internet whipped up. Every time these links are shared, it is taking opportunity away from an intended purpose. Please think about that or maybe find some time to visit Gaming Beaver, PokeFodder, GamePress JWA, and the Ludia social medias.

*We can not control when Ludia officially deploys these links, but these are the times they are planned to be active.
