JWA Weekly Events Aug 31 to Sep 6: Spelling Bee

Explorers! The Ludia poll results were tabulated and early info set forth. Away we go with the annual Spelling Bee event! Let's get to it and talk about our recommendations of what to dart before we break down the rest this week has to offer!

Before we dive in to the week, we'll break down how the weekly event calendar works. First, each day is considered started at 10am Eastern on that day. It is possible that wherever you live, it might actually be the previous or next day, so we wanted to help clarify how they determine what day it is. At this time, event creatures & strike towers will be updated as applicable. This information is also noted on the calendar.

Ever wonder why some weeks we’re given 45 attempts on commons and others only 18 or 27? The reason for this is that the volume of attempts is a simple math calculation based on the rarity and number of options. Take the rarity base number and multiply by the number of options and voila, you have your total allowed attempts! Having more variety in the options yields that many more attempts. The flip side is it may be more difficult to find the creature(s) you favor. Below details the number of attempts assigned to each rarity which is used to determine how many attempts you receive (though occasionally, they stray from this math). This is the total you are allotted across all options, so it is important to select your choices wisely.

• Common = 9 per
• Rare = 6 per
• Epic = 3 per
• Legendary/Unique = 1 total

They recently started putting the number of attempts on the calendar again and sometimes stray from the above. Refer to the calendar for the confirmed counts. Each rarity has a different length of time the spawn lasts followed by a different length of time until respawn after despawn. Commons and Rares will last 1 hour with about 5 minutes between. Epics last 2 hours with about 5 minutes in between.

All strikes and trials are represented on the calendar with the level of difficulty along with how long they last (1 day or 2 days). The trials are shown along the very bottom in gray boxes.

 Wednesday - Thursday: 27 attempts

• Hatzegopteryx (Global Anytime) (Darwezopteryx>Stygidaryx)
• Phorusrhacos (Local 3 Day/Dawn/Dusk) (Velosrhacos, Phorusaura>Phorurex)

Overall

This is a fairly meh week when it comes to Commons and don't feel it worth your time to stress about particulars. If we were to put these in any particular priority, we would suggest Phoru, Euoplo, Hatzeg, mainly based on acceissibility.

Overall

Finally, 6 weeks after introduction to the game, we have BETA featured in an event! With the best hybrid of the bunch, we hands down suggest this as your preferred option. If for some reason you don't find yourself interested in all the cuteness, then we like Anurog as your second best, Ghost (AKA Atrocicaptor, still fairly easy to spell but harder than Ghost) as your third, and Acro as the least.

Overall

You surely want to call here kitty kitty and find yourself a couple of Smilocephs. The teaser info we were provided for 2.18 Notes/Update confirmed Indonemys is coming, and you will need this cat in order to fuse the next cat in order to fuse the Apex.

Overall

Neither of these have much of an arena presence, but Espyx will be usable in this weekend's tournament. Poukan does require a Battle Exclusive component (Haast Eagle) whereas Espyx does not. So there is a solid reason for each, just be sure you do your single attempt!

Overall

Out of each option comes a solid hybrid or more, but we like your focus on the Event Exclusive Therizini. We understand Tuoj is always appealing because all 3 hybrids are useful, but this one is global and anytime and just so easily farmed. Quetz is your other Event Exclusive, but the hybrids aren't currently of any special note. Dsung makes an interesting option, as it was Event Exclusive until recently and our datamine last week revealed it should be one of the 6 legendaries to be modified this update (specifically a buff).

Strike Events & Trials will also be Spelling Bee themed and can reward the same Common, Rare, and Epic DNA found at event drops (very very rarely, you could get super lucky and be awarded Legendary).

We will have one dinosaur specific strike this week, a Diplodocus strike on Friday. We've also got the Boost Strikes on Thursday (Attack), Saturday (HP), and Monday (Speed).

Scents

Both scent strikes this week will be Spelling Bee scent (Thursday & Monday). This scent can draw the same Common, Rare, and Epic creatures found at event drops (with the first draw a guaranteed Rare spawn).:

Treasure Chase

We have a treasure chase on Sunday. You can collect up to 25,000 coins through each period (Sunday will run 11am Eastern to 8pm Eastern, then it will reset until 11am Eastern Monday) - this allows 2 total chances at the coins! The graphic is different than normal, so perhaps there are some other goodies in store. Make sure to press the i before your first collection in case you need to make room for any FIPs.

Hybrid Pursuit

This week begins the Arctalces pursuit with Arctodus!

This will be our final week with Lystrosaurus as our Seasonal Arena Reward and Ouranosaurus as our Daily Dino.

Week 5 of the Allorodrigues Alliance Championships will be a Rare/Epic/Legendary/Unique (All, 2.0 Rosters) Advantage tournament for double points and Hard Cash!
