Introduction

Hello! Good morning, good afternoon and good evening and welcome to the last week of 2022. We have Lucus1355 back to write all about the coming week. What a rollercoaster of a year it has been! We got Rexy, the 4 Atrociraptors, and so many more creatures in 2022. We hope you managed well when it came to the tournament and the unexpected hybrid only restriction. Also, the first Isla Campaign Event has now finished, and that sure was a challenge for most of us. Without further ado, we’ll talk about our recommendations of what to dart before we break down the rest this week has to offer!

Weekly Calendar Explained

Before we dive in to the week, we'll break down how the weekly event calendar works. First, each day is considered started at 10am Eastern on that day. It is possible that wherever you live, it might actually be the previous or next day, so we wanted to help clarify how they determine what day it is. At this time, event creatures & strike towers will be updated as applicable. This information is also noted on the calendar.

Ever wonder why some weeks we’re given 45 attempts on commons and others only 18 or 27? The reason for this is that the volume of attempts is a simple math calculation based on the rarity and number of options. Take the rarity base number and multiply by the number of options and voila, you have your total allowed attempts! Having more variety in the options yields that many more attempts. The flip side is it may be more difficult to find the creature(s) you favor. Below details the number of attempts assigned to each rarity which is used to determine how many attempts you receive (though occasionally, they stray from this math). This is the total you are allotted across all options, so it is important to select your choices wisely.

  • Common = 9 per
  • Rare = 6 per
  • Epic = 3 per
  • Legendary/Unique = Varies but tends to usually be 2 total

They recently started putting the number of attempts on the calendar again and sometimes stray from the above. Refer to the calendar for the confirmed counts. Each rarity has a different length of time the spawn lasts followed by a different length of time until respawn after despawn. Commons and Rares will last about 35 minutes with about 5 minutes between. Epics last about 30 minutes with about 5 minutes in between. Legendaries & Uniques last about 27 minutes with about 3 minutes in between. Many thanks to Lilikoi of Dom Tuoretto for helping us nail down those cycle times!

All strikes and trials are represented on the calendar with the level of difficulty along with how long they last (1 day or 2 days). The trials are shown along the very bottom in gray boxes.

Featured Creatures: Commons

Wednesday - Thursday: 27 attempts

  • Stegosaurus (Saturday ) (Stegoceratops>Monostegotops, Stegodeus)
  • Tarbosaurus (Global Anytime) (Thoradolosaur, Tarbognathus>Compsoraptor)
  • Velociraptor (Global Anytime) (Indominus Rex>Erlidominus/Indoraptor/Indonemys, Indoraptor)

This collection of commons to dart seems totally dependent on what hybrid you are currently trying to create or looking to increase in level.

Velociraptor has a Legendary, two Unique, and one Apex hybrids to its name so that is a lot of fusing to be doing with this creature. It is also available everywhere on the map, every day which allows for an increased chance to pick up a lot of this raptor’s DNA in a short space of time.

Stegosaurus is up next and also has an Apex hybrid to fuse for, along with an Epic hybrid and 2 Legendaries. It is the rarest of these three commons as it only appears on Saturdays everywhere, all day. Another creature with a lot to gain from getting a bank load of DNA.

Lastly is Tarbosaurus; two lines of fusing for this creature, one mainly for PvP and one for raiding with. Tarbosaurus fuses to make Tarbognathus and then into Compsoraptor which at the moment is a top creature to have for PvP battles, but it needs boosts to do well in battles. It’s other fusion line becomes the Thoradolosaur, a great necessity for most Unique and many Apex raids.

Like with most pools of Commons, it may be in the best interest of your time to dart whatever crosses your path. None of these truly stand out as a "must have" over the others to warrant spending extra time seeking them out.

Featured Creatures: Epics

Friday - Saturday: 12 Attempts

  • Beta (Event Exclusive) (Compsoraptor)
  • Giganotosaurus (Event Exclusive) (Giganyx)
  • Panthera (Global Short Range Anytime)
  • Pulmonoscorpios (Event Exclusive) (Dsungascorpios)

These Epic are very similar to the Commons, in that it’s partly dependent on what hybrid you are currently trying to create or looking to increase in level, but also collecting DNA in looking to prepare to fuse it with something in the future.

Starting with the only Epic that is available on the map for us which is the relatively new Atrociraptor, Panthera. Like Tiger, Panthera has yet to attain a hybrid like Ghost and Red have in a recent update. With this in mind, it may be worth collecting the DNA for this raptor. Perhaps not for this event though, as you can find this creature in the wild and it’s now easier to find those short-range creatures due to the Creature Tracker. As for using it in an Epic tournament, it seems a story of two sides. On one side, it has two precise “Berserk” abilities with strong effects making it a risky creature to use due to sacrificing Panthera’s health and being unable to swap for 1 turn. On the other hand, with “Revenge”, both these “Berserk” abilities don’t cause “Unable To Swap” and they become priority moves. In particular, the “Berserk Clawed Revenge” becomes able to hit all opponents. The final kicker to this is its “Retreat” ability cleansing all negative effects and causing automatic swap, which is guaranteed as Panthera is immune to “Swap Prevention”. This can be a risky move for the next creature swapping in but, Panthera is a risky but rewarding creature to use with the right team

The Dominion monster, Giganotosaurus is an Epic worth using in Epic Tournaments and its hybrid Giganyx can be a nasty fierce to come up against, also in most PvP battles. Other than that, this Event Exclusive creature doesn’t have much else going for it so, if you want Giganotosaurus for tournaments or to get it to level 20 for its hybrid then this is your creature.

The Scorpions, Pulmonoscorpius, arrived with mixed reviews but quickly were found to be one of the top three in Epic Tournaments, next to Megalotops and Argenteryx mainly for their Damage Over Time abilities, but also ability to stun and “No Escape”. Its hybrid, Dsungascorpios, bares its yellow barbs and is a pretty decent Unique, both in PvP and in Unique Tournaments. This seems a very worth while creature to be darting this day.

Pulmonoscorpius hybrid, Dsungascorpios seemingly can be overshadowed by another top flock, Compsoraptor. If you’re looking to be fusing Compsoraptor, then you are going to need to be darting Beta. The exact clone of her Mother, Blue, she can stand up for herself against most Fierce foes, and when fused with the Tarbognathus, it makes one of the top PvP creatures currently in the game.

It does seem to be a toss-up between Beta and Pulmonoscorpius - the main features being Pulmonoscorpius for Epic tournament and then Compsoraptor or Dsungascorpios for PvP battles and tournaments featuring Uniques.

Featured Creatures: Legendaries

Sunday: 2 Attempts

  • Panthera Blythae (Event Exclusive)
  • Rexy (Event Exclusive) (Tyrannometrodon )

Looks like Ludia is back to some level of generosity, as we will have 2 attempts at Legendaries this week!

It is here again once more. Panthera Blytheae was meant to show us what it had in the most recent tournament but a last minute “Hybrid Restriction” put that to a hault. As we said last week, the new legendary is just like Parasaurolophus Lux and Rexy in that it is not a hybrid so needs nothing to make it. It has a fantastic set of skills which look set to rival Rexy in Tournament bouts and possibly even PvP. Darting this beautiful, wintery leopard should be your priority. Like Rexy, it seems to be worth levelling it up to be used in PvP battles. Although, maybe keeping it at Level 20 should be thought about in case Panthera Blytheae gets a hybrid.

Speaking of the Rexy, it is the other event darting choice this weekend. Her “Dominant Roar” is a priority and group attack, boosting her attack and her speed; she hits any foe looking to escape and swap out too, as well as her ability to slow creatures down when she is swapped in. To top it off, she has a lot of high resistances, her “Devouring Rampage” for healing herself and an incredibly high critical hit chance. Her hybrid has a similar yet stronger skill set than Rexy, but without the priority ability, unless the hybrid becomes “Threatened”.

This is all about whether you want to stick with the Rexy and work on increasing her and/or her hybrid or if you want to unlock, level up or collect DNA for the Panthera Blytheae. They are both great choices, but if a choice needed to be made, look to dart the Panthera Blytheae  in case of a hybrid, which should, surely be set to be on level terms with that of Rexy’s hybrid, Tyrannometrodon. We are able to hunt Rexy and can’t be sure if Panthera Blythae will ever be granted the same fate.

Featured Creatures: Uniques

Sunday: 1 Attempt

  • Aenocyonyx (Event Exclusive) (Indolycan)
  • Tyrannometrodon (Event Exclusive)

This week’s Legendary and Unique featured creatures see Rexy and her hybrid, Tyrannometrodon up for darting, standing side by side. Like Rexy, Tyrannometrodon does have the ability to increase its speed and attack but only while threatened does it become a priority move. However, it does have an alternative ability to increase its attack stat and has two devouring abilities; a group attack and its huge “Decimating Hunger” move.

Back again for another week is the Aenocyonyx, a component of the new Apex, Indolycan. Aenocyonyx seemed to work great in recent tournaments and also in PvP bouts. Aenocyonyx alone is seemingly a great asset to a team, especially with 3 moves being priority abilities. The delay on its “Disarming Decimate And Run” is very much worth the wait to be used. The most likely reason to be darting this ancient hyena is its hybrid, Indolycan which seems to be at the top end of the Apex creatures.

This seems to come down to what your intentions are with your own Aenocyonyx; unlocking and/or the levelling up of Indolycan. Level 25 is a long way to go but once you are there, it is worth the wait. Between these Uniques, Aenocyonyx has to rely on its “Crushing Prowl” to escape Tyrannometrodon’s abilities before, it itself can retaliate. Tyrannometrodon on the other hand, is easier to level up and its abilities cause the scales to tip more likely in its favor.

Unique Poll Results

Featured Creatures: Rares

Monday - Tuesday: 18 Attempts

  • Dreadnoughtus (Local 3 Day/Dawn/Dusk) (Dreadactylus)
  • Pyroraptor Gen 2 (Global Dawn/Dusk/Night) (Pyrosuchus)
  • Rodrigues Solitaire (Event Exclusive) (Allodrigues)

This week’s featured creatures gives us three Rare creatures to dart and a diverse set they are, given their differences; a flock, a raptor and a sauropod.

First off is the flock and the only event exclusive creature of the three. Rodrigues Solitaire is a decent rare creature that is able to hold its own in Rare Tournaments thanks to its ability to heal, “Cunning Ramage” and “Flightless Strike” bypassing those armoured creatures. It also has some pretty decent resistances for a Rare creature. Its hybrid, Allodrigues is pretty strong, too, but not the best Unique Flock out there.

Next up is the Pyroraptor Gen 2. This creature is by far the newest in the game and is able to nullify positive effects and has “Distracting Counter”. It seems to be better in its hybrid form, Pyrosuchus, which came in the same update. The following update gave the next step in this evolution chain in the style of Pyrorixis, one of the newest bad boy Unique creatures in the game both in PvP and in tournaments.

Finally, the sauropod that fears nothing, Dreadnoughtus. Another creature that can hold its own in the Rare tournaments. As with most sauropods in the game, it has A LOT of health. It also comes with a handy “Swap In Invincibility” and also a “Group Decelerating Impact” to deal with the flocks like Rodrigues Solitaire. Its hybrid, Dreadactylus was one of the creatures used in some teams for the most recent tournament. It was not able to heal but is able to deliver vulnerability with its counter and 100% dodge on swap in.

All in all, it’s a close one and will depend on your current creatures situations; what level they are, what rarity you are currently working with and towards. The creature that seems to have the most promise in terms of their hybrids would be Pyroraptor Gen 2, then probably Rodrigues Solitaire followed by Dreadnoughtus. As we said, though, it will depend on your current creatures levels, especially those used to fuse with this weeks Rare featured creatures.

If you enjoy our content, please help let others know this is the source of the cash links people just post for the taking all over social media. The same goes for YouTuber Gaming Beaver. All links have a purpose behind them, and that is to promote some kind of media and drive traffic. Most people simply do not know there is actually a purpose behind these links, and we'd like to try to educate as many as we can. Take a moment to politely explain this in these posts. It isn't free money some random stranger on the internet whipped up. Every time these links are shared, it is taking opportunity away from an intended purpose. Please think about that or maybe find some time to visit Gaming Beaver, GamePress JWA, and the Ludia social medias.

Parting Words

Another year about to pass, another year to come and who knows what Ludia will have in store for us and the Jurassic World Alive game that we have come to mostly enjoy. We know that new creatures are on the way but whether it will be Magnaraptor, Constrictoraptor and the Dominion Locusts we don’t know for sure. All we know is that this is a game where we go back in time to be alongside those creatures that time forgot.

The team at Gamepress would like to wish you the happiest new year! What do you plan to dart and why? Join our Discord server and get in the conversation today!
