JWA Weekly Events Feb 24 - March 01: High HP, Hybrid, and Leap Year Event

Introduction

Explorers! The weekly schedule is out and it looks like we can look forward to High HP and Hybrid as well as a Leap Year Event. We are extremely excited about this week's theme as there are some much-needed creatures being featured. And while we don't know the exact details of the Leap Year Event, we know the creatures that will be featured and we are even more hyped about those! So let's break it down.

Featured Creatures - Common

Monday -  Tuesday: Commons (36 attempts)

Apatosaurus

Allosaurus

Brontotherium

Parasaurolophus

What to Dart

We always say to go for the exclusive creature and in this case, it's Brontotherium. Bronto can only be found in events and it is a component of an already powerful epic hybrid, Brontolasmus (that doesn't yet have a super-hybrid) so you are going to want to stock up on the DNA. The other dinos are all global or local dinos that are usually easy to find, so while you can dart them if you need them, Brontotherium is going to be the better choice.

Featured Creatures - Rare

Wednesday - Friday: Rares (18 attempts)

Amargasaurus

Argentinosaurus

Giraffatitian

What to Dart

All  3 of these long necks have hybrids, but only one of them has a hybrid that is clearly better than the rest. You are going to want to go for Argentinosaurus this week. Its hybrid, Ardentismaxima, is one of the strongest creatures in the game right now. Even if you don't think you are close to the unique hybrid, you are going to want to start collecting the DNA for the future. The other 2 are not bad options either, but Amargasaurus is global and Giraffatitian can be found in Local 1 pretty easily. Even those that have a fully maxed out Maxima might want to go for Argentino this week so they have some to donate to fellow alliance members!

Featured Creatures - Leap Year Event

Saturday: Leap Year Event Dinos

The Leap Year Event was announced on the forums last week and the post said the following:

Leap into these upcoming Quadrennial rewards!

On February 29th, go out and collect Leap Year Chase rewards. Explore the Map and collect DNA from some of the games most agile creatures. You will also get to battle against Jurassic World’s most leap happy creatures!

Happy hunting, this event only comes around every 4 years!

Featured Leap Year Creatures:

Commons: Velociraptor

Rares: Delta, Charlie, Echo, Utahraptor

Epics: Blue, Purrutaurus, Erlikogamma, Pyroraptor, Smilodon

Legendary: Indoraptor Gen 2, Alloraptor, Pyrritator, Smilocephalosaurus

Unique: Indoraptor

We got some more clarification on this event and how the dinos will spawn as per an official Ludia spokesperson on the forum:

  1. They should spawn normally under the Event Supply Drops like how Featured Creatures traditionally do.

  2. The Leap Year creatures will be spawning on Feb 29th.

  3. It will be 5 attempts shared across the Leap Year creatures, regardless of their Rarity.

What to Dart

So we get 5 attempts at any of the creatures above, which means you should choose wisely! Going for a Legendary creature is going to be your best option. While it is tempting to go for the Unique Indoraptor, we have already had several attempts on it and it's honestly one of the easier uniques to create.

Honestly, any of the legendary creatures are good since all of them have a component that is exclusive in some way. Many people will be going for Pyrritator to level up Magnapyritor. Indoraptor Gen2 is a High Tyrant with an exclusive ingredient (Blue) so this is a good option if you are running it on your team. Alloraptor has a chance to get a future super-hybrid so this is a good investment for the future. Finally, Smilocaphalosuaurs is made up of 2 epic creatures and one of them is exclusive. It also has an incredibly strong hybrid in Smilonemys so this is also a good choice for many people.

Whatever creature you decide to dart, just remember that you only get 5 attempts overall no matter what the rarity so plan ahead and make sure you know what you are going to go for. These will also be competing with all of the epic creatures under the green drops so hopefully you can find what you want!

Featured Creatures - Epic

Saturday - Sunday: Epics (9 attempts)

Brachiosaurus

Diplodocus

Ouranosaurus

What to Dart

The epic choices are tough for a lot of people, especially those are still trying to level Ardentismaxima. Brachiosaurus isn't a bad choice at all, but exclusive is always the way to go so Diplodocus is really what you should be going for. Especially with the recent buff to its hybrid, Geminititan. Even at the creation level of 21 it can still be used on many teams. Ouranosaurus and Brachiosaurus are actually in the wild and can technically be hunted so in the end, the exclusiver creature is the way to go.

Strike Events

The theme in the strike events is Hybrid themed and these are the creatures you can get from it:

     Common: Apatosaurus, Stegosaurus, Parasaurapholos, Velociraptor

     Rare: Amargasaurus, Nodosaurus, Utahraptor

     Epic: Ankylosaurus, Sinoceratops, Tyrannosaurus Rex

We have 3 Epic Strike Events this week. There is an Amargocephalus themed Strike on Friday and a Hybrid Strike over the weekend. There is also a Leap Year Themed strike on Saturday.

Themed Scent, Boost Strike, and Treasure Chase

There is a Pterosaur Scent Strike on Thursday, and it looks like there is an Attack Boost Strike on Wednesday. We have a treasure chase Tuesday and Wednesday and a special Leap Year Treasure Chase on Saturday. Not sure of the specifics on that but we'll let you know as soon as we have more information!

In Conclusion

We are very excited about this week! The featured theme is amazing and the Leap Year Event is fantastic as well! Be ready to get out and hunt on Saturday because there are going to be a lot of creatures under the green stops and we hope you find the ones you want!
