Introduction

Hello explorers! Luke AKA Lucus1355 and Kelly AKA Kelociraptor here and welcome to “Weekly Events”.

Love is in the air judging by the week Ludia has ahead of us for Valentines. Everywhere you look around there are chances to get close and comfortable with some favourite JWA creatures. But, with it only being Part 1 of 2 weeks of lovey-dovey events, what could the second week possibly hold?

Without further ado, lets chat up and flirt about our recommendations of what to dart with Luke, before we look longingly at the rest this week has to offer with Kelly!

Weekly Calendar Explained

Before we dive in to the week, we'll break down how the weekly event calendar works. First, each day is considered started at 10am Eastern on that day. It is possible that wherever you live, it might actually be the previous or next day, so we wanted to help clarify how they determine what day it is. At this time, event creatures & strike towers will be updated as applicable. This information is also noted on the calendar.

Ever wonder why some weeks we’re given 45 attempts on commons and others only 18 or 27? The reason for this is that the volume of attempts is a simple math calculation based on the rarity and number of options. Take the rarity base number and multiply by the number of options and voila, you have your total allowed attempts! Having more variety in the options yields that many more attempts. The flip side is it may be more difficult to find the creature(s) you favor. Below details the number of attempts assigned to each rarity which is used to determine how many attempts you receive (though occasionally, they stray from this math). This is the total you are allotted across all options, so it is important to select your choices wisely.

  • Common = 9 per
  • Rare = 6 per
  • Epic = 3 per
  • Legendary/Unique = Varies but tends to usually be 2 total

They recently started putting the number of attempts on the calendar again and sometimes stray from the above. Refer to the calendar for the confirmed counts. Each rarity has a different length of time the spawn lasts followed by a different length of time until respawn after despawn. Commons and Rares will last about 35 minutes with about 5 minutes between. Epics last about 30 minutes with about 5 minutes in between. Legendaries & Uniques last about 27 minutes with about 3 minutes in between. Many thanks to Lilikoi of Dom Tuoretto for helping us nail down those cycle times!

All strikes and trials are represented on the calendar with the level of difficulty along with how long they last (1 day or 2 days). The trials are shown along the very bottom in gray boxes.

Featured Creatures: Commons

Wednesday - Thursday: 18 attempts

  • Apatosaurus (Global Day/Dawn/Dusk) (Nodopatosaurus>Gigaspikasaur/Nodopatotitan/Stegodeus)
  • Coelurosauravus (Park Day/Dawn/Dusk) (Coelhaast)
  • Dilophosaurus (Local 1 Day/Dawn/Dusk) (Ovilophosaurus, Diloranosaurus>Diloracheirus)

Dilophosaurus Gen 2 is one of the slower cunning creatures to feature in the common rarity. However, it is immune to damage decrease and has a decent damage output.

Stegosaurus is one of the most well-known dinosaurs to have existed way back when. In JWA however, it has 20% armour going for it and also a group deceleration attack.

Finally, the Coelurosauravus, which was a top choice for the tournament last weekend, and I’m sure it will feature heavily in this weekend’s common-only advantage tournament also. It’s a flock creature with an ability to distract, attack and swap out without any hassle, not to mention ‘Rally Heal’ on swap in.

Out of these common creatures and their hybrids, here is a tier list showing their usefulness in PvP battles:

Featured Creatures: Epics

Friday: 12 Attempts

  • Eucladoceros (Global Anytime) (Eremoceros, Testacornibus>Arctovasilas)
  • Stygimoloch (Local 4 Anytime) (Paramoloch>Tuoramoloch, Ankylomoloch>Ankylos Lux)
  • Titanoboa (Event Exclusive) (Dilophoboa>Spinoconstrictor)
  • Tyrannosaurus Rex (Global Anytime) (Indominus Rex>Erlidominus/Indonemys/Indoraptor, Trykosaurus)

Tyrannosaurus Rex is here once more with its outmatched attack strength. Sure, it doesn’t have any resistances, but with one of the strongest bites in the game and a 30% chance to crit, this creature can be a real threat to the right opponent/s.

Stygimoloch is a stun-ning creature, with a 75% chance to stun its opponent with its priority attack after the first turn. It’s can also put up shields after hitting its opponent, and has the ability to hit and then switch out. It boasts a high speed and can dish out some fairly strong damage.

Eucladoceros will be looking to slow its opponents down with either of its precise attacking moves, while cleansing its reduced damage or putting up a shield. It’s also able to priority heal, giving it a small speed boost and putting up shields too. Furthermore, this creature regains further health when it’s switched in.

Lastly in this selection is the Titanoboa. There’s no running from this creature unless you can take its ‘On Escape Rampage’. Along with this, its got quite few resistances; stun and swap prevention to name but a few. It’s also able to precisely hit its target hard, and can slow its down opponents. It can be a god choice in epic tournaments.

Out of these epic creatures and their hybrids, here is a tier list showing their usefulness in PvP battles:

Featured Creatures: Legendary Group 1

Saturday: 2 Attempts

  • Indominus Rex (Event Exclusive) (Erlidominus, Indoraptor, Indonemys)
  • Spinoceratops (Event Exclusive)
  • Thylaconyx (Event Exclusive) (Aenocyonyx>Indolycan)

The Indominus Rex has the ability to ‘Cloak’, giving it a dodge and doubling the damage given out in its next attack, becoming triple the damage when ‘On Revenge’. With immunity to 4 resistances and 50% resistant to another 3, this creature is hard to take down without using a lot of brawn or brain. It has great strength in its ability to bypass armour.

Thylaconyx starts off, on being swapped in by causing 40% rend damage. With each attack received, it then dishes out a small counter attack. With the ability to increase its own attack and critical chance, this tied in with its damage over time devour attack and all-opponent-targeting ‘Skirmish’ makes this creature a force to be reconned with in legendary tournaments and PvP.

Spinoceratops is one of the only legendary creatures that can stand up to other dinos in unique tournaments so a ‘must use’ in legendary tourneys. It’s able to cause damage with a  stun chance when swapping in and also on opponents swapping out; causing 33% damage over time for 3 turns and can inflict 60% priority rend damage. Finally, its priority ability to heal also boosts its armour.

Out of these Legendary creatures and their hybrids, here is a tier list showing their usefulness in PvP battles:

Featured Creatures: Legendary Group 2

Sunday: 2 Attempts

  • Dilophoboa (Event Exclusive) (Spinoconstrictor)
  • Edaphocevia (Event Exclusive) (Albertocevia)
  • Fukuimimus (Event Exclusive)

Dilophoboa is a real pain against creatures without resistance to damage reduction and without resilient moves to combat this creature’s distracting counter. It’s able to hit precise and hard, not to mention attack while nullifying all of opponents’ positive effects. There’s no chance of escape without receiving same damage from Dilophoboa and with its priority ability ‘Sidestep’, you’ll have difficulty causing more than 33% damage to it.

Edaphocevia has one of the highest resistance counts of any legendary creature, with 7 being 50% or 75%. It has a huge, diverse move set; able to increase its attack, distract, cause precise damage and break opposing creatures’ shields, bypassing armour.

Fukuimimus has been a top 8 legendary tournament member since its creation; able to heal with the addition of a speed boost or a priority dodge. This, coupled with a distracting group rampage and its damage-increase counter surely makes this a legendary threat to most facing it.

Out of these Legendary creatures and their hybrids, here is a tier list showing their usefulness in PvP battles:

Featured Creatures: Rares

Monday - Tuesday: 24 Attempts

  • Albertosaurus (Event Exclusive) (Albertospinos, Albertocevia)
  • Kaprosuchus (Global Dawn/Dusk/Night) (Gorgosuchus>Megalosuchus, Spinotasuchus>Albertospinos)
  • Nasutoceratops (Local 2 Day/Dawn/Dusk) (Carbotoceratops>Testacornibus>Arctovasilas, Megalotops)
  • Rodrigues Solitaire (Event Exclusive) (Allodrigues)

Nasutoceratops will cause damage when swapped and has 67% chance to stun. It’s also able to stun with a 75% chance as one of its attacks, whilst the other two look to either reduce the opponents speed or its damage.

Albertosaurus is a top choice in rare tournament, as one of the few fierce class creatures to have 5 resistances. With a 30% chance to crit, a high damage output and its priority attack ‘Killer Instinct’, it’s no wonder it’s a top choice.

Rodrigues Solitaire is another top choice here for a rare tournament. A flock that is able to bypass armour, rally heal and cause high damage while distracting their opponent. If you’re looking to switch out against this opponent, then be prepared for its dodge and its critical increase.

Kaprosuchus can increase, not only its attack but that of its team all the while attacking the opponent. It is able to do this with its ‘Group Cleansing Strike’ attack. Finally, it can break through opponents shields.

Free Cash Link

GamePress is excited to be able to provide weekly cash links worth $50 cash in game! The code can only be claimed once a week and you must click on it using the device you play JWA with. It will be active from Wednesday, 12am Eastern - Tuesday, 11:59pm Eastern every week. This is a promotional code provided courtesy of Ludia, Inc and is exclusive to GamePress. We will post this link in an article we publish each week. We will post all articles on our Twitter so follow us at NewsJWA on Twitter so you don't miss out!

If you enjoy our content, please help let others know this is the source of the cash links people just post for the taking all over social media. The same goes for YouTuber Gaming Beaver. All links have a purpose behind them, and that is to promote some kind of media and drive traffic. Most people simply do not know there is actually a purpose behind these links, and we'd like to try to educate as many as we can. Take a moment to politely explain this in these posts. It isn't free money some random stranger on the internet whipped up. Every time these links are shared, it is taking opportunity away from an intended purpose. Please think about that or maybe find some time to visit Gaming Beaver, GamePress JWA, and the Ludia social medias.

*We can not control when Ludia officially deploys these links, but these are the times they are planned to be active.

Parting Words

When choosing what to dart, it can depend on your player level. So, think about the creatures’ hybrids, working out which hybrid or future hybrids would be a best fit for your team or to help you achieve any goals you may have; how far these hybrids are away from being created for yourself and finally, by looking at ‘creature tier lists’, for example the ‘Popularity’ and ‘Community Rankings’ tier lists.

That’s one lovely jam-packed week of JWA ahead of us all and it’s only part 1. What on earth could part 2 hold and will it be as good as this week. Who knows? We would love you to give your suggestions and Jurassic love stories; perhaps which creature you love most, or maybe you met a love interest through JWA. Also, of course with what you plan to dart and why. Join our Discord and get in the discussion today!

And leaving you with that, from Kelly and Luke here at GamePress, thank you for reading and LOVE to all!!!
