JWA Weekly Events Feb 9 - Feb 15: Valentines

Explorers! The early information we were provided last week becomes official, and love is very in the air when viewing the calendar celebrating Valentines. Let's get to it and talk about our recommendations of what to dart before we break down the rest this week has to offer!

Before we dive in to the week, we'll break down how the weekly event calendar works. First, each day is considered started at 10am Eastern on that day. It is possible that wherever you live, it might actually be the previous or next day, so we wanted to help clarify how they determine what day it is. At this time, event creatures & strike towers will be updated as applicable. This information is also noted on the calendar.

Ever wonder why some weeks we’re given 45 attempts on commons and others only 18 or 27? The reason for this is that the volume of attempts is a simple math calculation based on the rarity and number of options. Take the rarity base number and multiply by the number of options and voila, you have your total allowed attempts! Having more variety in the options yields that many more attempts. The flip side is it may be more difficult to find the creature(s) you favor. Below details the number of attempts assigned to each rarity which is used to determine how many attempts you receive (though occasionally, they stray from this math). This is the total you are allotted across all options, so it is important to select your choices wisely.

• Common = 9 per
• Rare = 6 per
• Epic = 3 per
• Legendary/Unique = 1 total

They recently started putting the number of attempts on the calendar again and sometimes stray from the above. Refer to the calendar for the confirmed counts. Each rarity has a different length of time the spawn lasts followed by a different length of time until respawn after despawn. Commons and Rares will last 1 hour with about 5 minutes between. Epics last 2 hours with about 5 minutes in between.

All strikes and trials are represented on the calendar with the level of difficulty along with how long they last (1 day or 2 days). The trials are shown along the very bottom in gray boxes.

Wednesday - Thursday: 27 Attempts

• Coelurosauravus (Park Day/Dawn/Dusk) (Coelhaast)
• Sinosauropteryx (Local 3 Anytime) (Sinokotaraptor)
• Velociraptor (Global Anytime) (Indominus Rex>Erlidominus/Indoraptor, Indoraptor)

Either Coel or Sinosaur are your top options here. We just had Sinosaur last week, so you might want a change of pace or perhaps don't have easy access to a park for Coel hunting. Also, Coelhaast will be eligible for the last two weeks of tournament this month where Sinokot will not. However, we also have Coel as hybrid pursuit, and they will be everywhere for the week. We don't advocate for using your attempts on the Global option that is Velo. With 27 attempts over two days, the majority of those who responded to our Discord poll will be darting whatever crosses their path.

Friday: 12 Attempts

• Bumpy (Event Exclusive) (Ankylomoloch>Ankylos Lux)
• Purutaurus (Global Dawn/Dusk/Night) (Carnotarkus, Scorpius Rex)
• Spinotahraptor (Local 3 Anytime) (Spinotasuchus>Albertospinos)
• Tyrannosaurus Rex (Global Anytime) (Indominus Rex>Erlidominus, Indoraptor>Trykosaurus)

We definitely like Bumpy as your top choice this week, and if you've faced an Ankylos Lux in battle you know why. This new fusible hybrid crushes against most of the top used creatures. This is the only Event Exclusive option as well. Our Discord community overwhelmingly agrees with Bumpy blowing the rest out of the water in our voting poll. We would rank the rest of the order the same as it falls alphabetically. If Albertospinos wasn't so disappointing, we could advocate a little harder for Spinotah. With only one day to complete 12 attempts, you may have to spread them out at least a little.

Saturday: 2 Attempts

• Arctalces (Event Exclusive)
• Scorpius Rex (Event Exclusive)
• Spinotasuchus (Event Exclusive) (Albertospinos)

We were absolutely elated to see that they are not only splitting these choices over two days, but we also get TWO attempts each day! And to top it off, they did not put our two favorite options on the same day. So for this first day, Arctalces of course controls our heart. The hybrid outshines Spinotah's by a mile, and SR doesn't even have a hybrid yet. Plus it is made of two event exclusives while the ingredients for the others can be hunted. Like Bumpy above, our Discord community is head over heels ready to dart Artacles.

Sunday: 1 Attempt

• Ankylomoloch (Event Exclusive) (Ankylos Lux)
• Indominus Rex (Event Exclusive) (Erlidominus, Indoraptor)
• Parasaurolophus Lux (Global Short Range) (Parasauthops)

We have the greatest crush on AnkylM over your other choices here, though it isn't as super clear cut as Saturday. PLux is a fine option being a short range spawn and also limited to two per day, but we also get to raid PThops once a week and will be receiving this with the Alliance Championship incubators. Those who voted in our Discord poll share similar sentiments with AnkylM very much in the lead but a solid chunk who have their eyes on PLux. Same goes for Indom, we have been raiding this creature for about ever, and all of its parts can be hunted. If you love yourself, you will absolutely find your way to two AnkylMs on Sunday!

Monday - Tuesday: 24 Attempts

• Arctodus (Event Exclusive) (Arctalces>Arctovasilas)
• Cervalces (Event Exclusive) (Arctalces>Arctovasilas)
• Kaprosuchus (Global Dawn/Dusk/Night) (Gorgosuchus>Megalosuchus, Spinotasuchus>Albertospinos)
• Spinosaurus (Global Anytime) (Spinotahraptor>Spinotasuchus>Albertospinos, Spinoconstrictor)

Here we have another week of choosing between Arctodus and Cervalces. We like the moose a touch better, as we just came off the month of Artcodus in the wild. You might even split your attempts over these two with a short time for so many attempts, We can't come up with any reason you'd select either of the other two options over these Event Exclusives.

Strike Events & Trials will also be Valentine themed and will reward the same Common, Rare, and Epic DNA found under event drops (with very rare possibility of Legendary in some cases).

We have two dinosaur specific strikes this week, an Arctodus strike on Wednesday and a Majungaboa tower on Friday! We've also got the regularly scheduled Boost Strikes on Thursday (Attack), Saturday (HP), and Tuesday (Speed) as well as a Badge strike on Wednesday.

Scents

We will have a special Valentines scent strike on Thursday. This will draw the same Common, Rare, and Epic creatures found under event drops.

Treasure Chase

There looks to be a special treasure chase that spans across Sunday and Monday. We will have to stay tuned for additional details on how this one will work!

Hybrid Pursuit

This week begins the Coelhaast pursuit with the park spawn, Coelurosauravus!

We continue with with Sonorasaurus as our Daily creature and Arctodus as the Arena Season reward! 

Parasauthops Alliance Championships goes in to its second week with a Common/Rare/Epic (No Hybrids, No Dual Classes or Wildcards) Advantage tournament for Arctops and Acrocanthosaurus DNA!
