JWA Weekly Events Jun 1 to June 7: JWA 4th Anniversary Part 2

Submit Feedback or Error

Introduction

Explorers! We still can hardly believe we're now FOUR YEARS in to JWA and feel excited to continue to celebrate all the amazing creatures that have been introduced over the past year! A bonus day of treasure chases and a week without Common attempts awaits. Let's get to it and talk about our recommendations of what to dart before we break down the rest this week has to offer!

Weekly Calendar Explained

Before we dive in to the week, we'll break down how the weekly event calendar works. First, each day is considered started at 10am Eastern on that day. It is possible that wherever you live, it might actually be the previous or next day, so we wanted to help clarify how they determine what day it is. At this time, event creatures & strike towers will be updated as applicable. This information is also noted on the calendar.

Ever wonder why some weeks we’re given 45 attempts on commons and others only 18 or 27? The reason for this is that the volume of attempts is a simple math calculation based on the rarity and number of options. Take the rarity base number and multiply by the number of options and voila, you have your total allowed attempts! Having more variety in the options yields that many more attempts. The flip side is it may be more difficult to find the creature(s) you favor. Below details the number of attempts assigned to each rarity which is used to determine how many attempts you receive (though occasionally, they stray from this math). This is the total you are allotted across all options, so it is important to select your choices wisely.

  • Common = 9 per
  • Rare = 6 per
  • Epic = 3 per
  • Legendary/Unique = 1 total

They recently started putting the number of attempts on the calendar again and sometimes stray from the above. Refer to the calendar for the confirmed counts. Each rarity has a different length of time the spawn lasts followed by a different length of time until respawn after despawn. Commons and Rares will last 1 hour with about 5 minutes between. Epics last 2 hours with about 5 minutes in between.

All strikes and trials are represented on the calendar with the level of difficulty along with how long they last (1 day or 2 days). The trials are shown along the very bottom in gray boxes.

Featured Creatures: Epics

Wednesday - Friday: 15 Attempts

  • Ailurarctos (Event Exclusive)
  • Argenteryx (Event Exclusive)
  • Bumpy (Event Exclusive) (Ankylomoloch>Ankylos Lux)
  • Lystrosaurus (Local 3 Anytime) (Lystrosuchus)
  • Megalotops (Event Exclusive)

Arena

Bumpy is the only option here that's going to help you with your end game Arena team.

Tournament

As base epics, Teryx and Megalotops are heads and tails over the other. Anyone who faced these monsters this past weekend knows. I personally caved and created a Level 28 Teryx on Sunday night. It catapulted me THREE HUNDRED cups. I can only imagine how much further I might have gone had I also invested on a Megalotops.

Raid

None of these are currently appearing in commonly used raid strategies.

Overall

This is really tough from an overall perspective, we have two Event Exclusive base Epics, two that are hybrids and can be fused (one even raided), and a brand new one that is huntable in L3. If you want to approach it from an Exclusivity scale, we would order them Ailuractos, Bumpy, Argenteryx, Megalotops, Lystrosaurus. However, with Lystro being very new, we do like this one to jump start collection. With 15 total attempts, you could even consider spreading them over multiple options.

Voting Poll

The extreme majority of those who voted in our Voting Poll will be going for the brand new Lystro

Featured Creatures: Legendaries

Saturday: 2 attempts

  • Ankylomoloch (Event Exclusive) (Ankylos Lux)
  • Ankylodactylus (Event Exclusive)
  • Thylaconyx (Event Exclusive)

Arena

Ankylomoloch will be your top choice toward an end game arena team here, though Thylaconyx can be found on many teams in upper arenas.

Tournament

All three of these preform strongly in qualifying tournaments. We'd suggest evaluating your own Legendary squad and choosing what might synergize the best with whatever you use.

Raid

None of these are currently appearing in commonly used raid strategies.

Overall

We like Ankylomoloch the most overall, though it isn't by a very large margin. All three of these are formidable fighters. If you prefer a scale based on Exclusivity (in this case, components), then we would order them Ankylomoloch (requires Event Exclusive Bumpy), Thylaconyx (requires Battle Exclusive Marsupial Lion), Ankylodactylus (all components foundin the wild).

Voting Poll

As of writing, the majority of Discord members who responded to our poll plan to dart Ankylomoloch with Thylaconyx a fairly close second.

Featured Creatures: Uniques

Sunday: 1 attempt

  • Albertocevia (Event Exclusive)
  • Allorodrigues (Event Exclusive)

Overall

We like Allorod ever so slightly over Albertocevia, though that's mainly due to the Event Exclusive component of the former being avaiable much less time. We did just come off of an Alliance Championship which rewarded Albertosaurus DNA, and we are going in to one that will give us all the parts of Allorod. You really can not go wrong with whichever you choose, just be sure to get out and do it!

Voting Poll

Most who voted in our Voting Poll will be using their attempt on Albertocevia.

Featured Creatures: Rare

Monday - Tuesday: 18 attempts

  • Argentavis (Event Exclusive ) (Argenteryx)
  • Cervalces (Event Exclusive) (Arctalces>Arctovasilas)
  • Preondactylus (Local 1 Anytime) (Ankylodactylus)

Arena

Cervalces is going to be your top choice if your main priority is enhancing your Arena squad. The fusible Apex, Arctovaslis, will likely carry you higher than the other hybrids here. That isn't to say the others don't have any success. Skoona is just still too prevalent to take the risk on flocks.

Tournament

As base rares go, Preon is perhaps the mightiest of these three (though we haven't seen much for overleveling of the others). We do know the only Epic hybrid here, Teryx, is a monster in qualifying tournaments, and we think Ankylodactylus is better than Arctalces for Legendary. We don't think any one of these really stands out over the others with what it can bring to tournament squads, so you'll want to evaluate your personal needs and goals and perhaps prioritize those that are Event Exclusive.

Raids

None of these or their hybrids have presence in common raid strategies.

Overall

This is a really tough decision despite two being Event Exclusive. Preon hasn't been around very long, and its hybrid is quite excellent. There truly isn't a bad choice in this bunch.

Voting Poll

Cervalces holds a big lead in our Voting Poll with Preon a distant second and very few planning to dart Argentavis.

Strike Events, Trials, Scents, Treasure Chase, and Hybrid Pursuit!

Strike Events & Trials

Strike Events & Trials will also be JWA 4th Anniversary themed and will reward the same Common, Rare, and Epic DNA found at Event Drops as well as all other creatures introduced over the past year (pop the "i" button for a full list). There is a very tiny chance you may be lucky and also receive Legendary in your haul!

We again have two dinosaur specific strikes this week, an Einiasuchus strike on Wednesday, and a Lystrosaurs strike on Friday. We've also got the Boost Strikes on Wednesday (Attack), Saturday (HP), and Monday (Speed) with an Emote strike Tuesday.

Scents

We have a 4th Anniversary scent strike on Thursday and Monday. This scent can draw almost any Common, Rare, or Epic creature introduced in the past year when activated (for some reason, Rodrigues Solitaire is not included).

Treasure Chase

We have a treasure chase spanning two days this week, Saturday and Sunday. If this is like last week, there will also be available a 4th Anniversary scent each day, so be sure to clear a space for one.

Hybrid Pursuit

This week begins the Andrewtops pursuit with the roly poly Glyptodon!

Daily Dino & Tournament Info

June comes in hot with Anurognathus as our Seasonal Arena Reward and the brand new Gigantosaurus as our Daily Dino.

The first week of Ardontognathus AC will be a Rare/Epic/Legendary (All, No Restrictions) Skills tournament for COINS!

Free Cash Link

GamePress is excited to be able to provide weekly cash links worth $50 cash in game! The code can only be claimed once a week and you must click on it using the device you play JWA with. It will be active from Wednesday, 12pm Eastern - Tuesday, 12pm Eastern every week. This is a promotional code provided courtesy of Ludia, Inc and is exclusive to GamePress. We will post this link in an article we publish each week. We will post all articles on our Twitter so follow us at NewsJWA on Twitter so you don't miss out!

If you enjoy our content, please help let others know this is the source of the cash links people just post for the taking all over social media. The same goes for YouTuber Gaming Beaver. All links have a purpose behind them, and that is to promote some kind of media and drive traffic. Most people simply do not know there is actually a purpose behind these links, and we'd like to try to educate as many as we can. Take a moment to politely explain this in these posts. It isn't free money some random stranger on the internet whipped up. Every time these links are shared, it is taking opportunity away from an intended purpose. Please think about that or maybe find some time to visit Gaming Beaver, GamePress JWA, and the Ludia social medias.

*We can not control when Ludia officially deploys these links, but these are the times they are planned to be active.
