JWA Weekly Events May 04 -10: Africa & Oceania and Lockdown

Submit Feedback or Error

Introduction

Welcome back, Explorers! Are you hyped about patch 1.14? We got notes on Friday and can't wait to hunt and create all of the new creatures. The weekly events have also been announced and this week, we are getting Africa & Oceania and Lockdown ThemesLockdown has a chance at Diplodocus, which is always exciting to see. Let's break down what you should focus on.

Featured Creatures - Common

Monday -  Wednesday: Commons (45 attempts)

Diplocaulus

Majungasaurus

Nundasuchus

Sarcosuchus

Suchomimus

What to Dart

Most of these creatures can be found easily, especially in their respective locals. I'm sure Local 3 is tired of seeing Diplocaulus and Local 1 can't stand Majungasaurus. A couple of weeks ago we would have said to go for whatever you need or skip it completely. If you are in Local 1 you still might do that, but for everyone else, Majungasaurus might actually worth your time now. It's hybrid, Majundasaurus, is getting an epic hybrid in 1.14 and it looks to be pretty good. So if you don't have a ton of Majunga stocked up, you might want to dart it if you see and start saving up.

Featured Creatures - Rare

Wednesday - Friday: Rares (18 attempts)

Giraffititan

Marsupial Lion

Spinosaurus

What to Dart

All 3 of these options have their merit. Giraffititan might seem like an odd choice for some, but with the weekly tournaments becoming more competitive, people are starting to think about their tournament teams and Giraffa is a very solid choice for a rare. The same can be said of Marsupial Lion. People are still running its hybrid, Thylacotator, at all levels but it is a solid creature on its own. Spinosaurus is needed to make Spinoconstrictor. We have been getting Titanoboa all this month and will get a large amount of DNA when the season ends tomorrow so if you haven't created the unique you might need some Spino to go with it. Whatever you are going for, they all are good choices for the rare this week.

Featured Creatures - Epic

Saturday - Sunday: Epics (9 attempts)

Alanqa

Kentrosaurus

What to Dart

If we are going with the exclusive rule, then Alanqa will be your best choice for the epics just as we suggested last week. But we also know how coveted Kentrosaurus can be. It's a global spawn now, but it's only dawn/dusk/night so it can be much harder to find especially with those not able to get out at all. So if you need Kentro, definitely go for that. Otherwise, Alanqa is still a good (and your only other) choice.

Strike and Trial Events

The theme in the strike events is Lockdown! The creatures found in this pool are:

Common: Dimorphodon, Lythronax, Purrusaurus Gen 2, Sarcosuchus

     Rare: Megalosaurus, Purrusaurus, Scaphognathus

     Epic: Darwinopterus, Diplodocus, Gryposuchus

We have 3 Epic Strike Events this week. There is a Lockdown themed strike on Tuesday and Sunday as well as a Euclodoceros themed Strike on Friday.

They are also continuing with the new strike format so make sure you are paying attention to those. Where it shows the double strikes in the picture, those strikes will only be out for 12 hours at a time. The first one will start at the reset and go for 12 hrs and then will change to the other strike. So make sure you are completing the first one within 12 hours.

We will also have the Trials again with a theme of Africa & Oceania so keep an eye for those on the map as well.

Themed Scent, Boost Strike, and Treasure Chase

There is a Raptor Scent on Monday, Thursday, and a Saturday. The pool of creatures that can be found in that scent are:

     Common: Velociraptor

     Rare: Charlie, Delta, Echo, Utahraptor

     Epic: Blue, Pyroraptor

There is also a Health Boost Strike on Wednesday and a Rare Scent Strike over the weekend. That is a guaranteed Rare Scent if you are able to defeat all of the creatures.

In Conclusion

So that's what we can look forward to this week.  We are expecting a maintenance announcement and for patch 1.14 to go live next week! We'll be hard at work updating the spawn mechanics and digging through the code for the datamine article as soon as it is live. Make sure to join our Discord as well for all the latest information in JWA!
