JWA Weekly Events Nov 29 - Dec 5: Hybrid Showcase

Submit Feedback or Error

Introduction

Explorers! As was teased a few days ago, this coming week we have a revamped and quite awesome Hybrid Showcase theme. Let's go over what we'll recommend to dart and everything else you need to know!

Weekly Calendar Explained

Before we dive in to the week, we'll break down how the weekly event calendar works. First, each day is considered started at 10am Eastern on that day. It is possible that wherever you live, it might actually be the previous or next day, so we wanted to help clarify how they determine what day it is. At this time, event creatures & strike towers will be updated as applicable. This information is also noted on the calendar.

Ever wonder why some weeks we’re given 45 attempts on commons and others only 18 or 27? The reason for this is that the volume of attempts is a simple math calculation based on the rarity and number of options. Take the rarity base number and multiply by the number of options and voila, you have your total allowed attempts! Having more variety in the options yields that many more attempts. The flip side is it may be more difficult to find the creature(s) you favor. Below details the number of attempts assigned to each rarity which is used to determine how many attempts you receive (though occasionally, they stray from this math). This is the total you are allotted across all options, so it is important to select your choices wisely.

  • Common = 9 per
  • Rare = 6 per
  • Epic = 3 per
  • Legendary/Unique = 1 total

They recently started putting the number of attempts on the calendar again and sometimes stray from the above. Refer to the calendar for the confirmed counts. Each rarity has a different length of time the spawn lasts followed by a different length of time until respawn after despawn. Commons and Rares will last 1 hour with about 5 minutes between. Epics last 2 hours with about 5 minutes in between.

All strikes and trials are represented on the calendar with the level of difficulty along with how long they last (1 day or 2 days). The trials are shown along the very bottom in gray boxes.

Featured Creatures: Commons

Monday - Tuesday: 36 Attempts

  • Dracorex Gen 2 (Global Anytime) (Dracoceratops>Dracoceratosaurus, Phorurex)
  • Inostrancevia (Local 1 Day/Dawn/Dusk) (Inostherium, Edaphocevia, Dodcevia)
  • Monolophosaurus Gen 2 (Local 4 Anytime) (Monolometrodon>Monolorhino, Scorpius Rex Gen 2>Scorpius Rex Gen 3)
  • Velociraptor (Global Anytime) (Indominus Rex>Erlidominus/Indoraptor, Indoraptor)

Three of the four that were in our last Hybrid Showcase have been changed, and might we also say UPGRADED. Last time we had this theme, we were faced with Gallimimus, Irritator Gen 2, Nundasuchus, and Velociraptor. Now instead of the first three, we have two very coveted commons in Draco2 and Mono2 as well as the decent Inostrancevia. The order we would suggest prioritizing your choices would be Mono2, Inos, Draco2, Velo. Mono2 and Inos are both local locked, where the other two are available everywhere all the time. You can fire up a giga in your living room and surely draw at least a couple each of Draco2 and Velo. 36 is a lot of attempts over just two days, so you might choose to split them up or even go with whatever crosses your path.

In a poll taken of our Discord community, the great majority said they will be after Draco2. This was followed by Mono2, "Whatever Crosses My Path", and very few votes for Inos and Velo.

Featured Creatures: Rares

Wednesday - Friday: 18 Attempts

  • Carnotaurus (Friday ) (Purutaurus>Carnotarkus, Scorpius Rex Gen 2>Scorpius Rex Gen 3, Indotaurus)
  • Nasutoceratops (Event Exclusive) (Carbotoceratops>Testacornibus>Arctovasilas , Megalotops)
  • Tyrannosaurus Rex Gen 2 (Global Day/Dawn/Dusk) (Indominus Rex Gen 2>Indoraptor Gen 2/Indotaurus, Tyrannolophosaur>Tenontorex)

Here we have another massive upgrade in choices since the last time we had this theme - Meiolania and Tuojiangosaurus have been replaced with Carno and Nasuto! We did learn in the notes that Nasuto will be released from event exclusivity, but we do not yet know where it will be found in the wild and will update above accordingly after the update on Tuesday. It's borderline impossible to choose between Carno and Nasuto when considering all the awesome hybrids each creates. And once the update drops, Nasuto has another one in the first fusible Apex, Arctovasilas. You really can not go wrong whether you choose Carno or Nasuto or both, but please do not use your attempts on TRex2.

Carno leads the way for those who voted in our Discord poll with Nasuto next then a small handful who still want that TRex2.

Featured Creatures: Epics

Saturday - Sunday: 9 Attempts

  • Sinoceratops (Local 1 Anytime) (Allosinosaurus>Thoradolosaur, Utasinoraptor>Utarinex)
  • Tyrannosaurus Rex (Global Anytime) (Indominus Rex>Erlidominus, Indoraptor>Trykosaurus)
  • Woolly Mammoth (Local 2 Anytime) (Entelemoth>Entelolania, Mammotherium>Mammolania, Tsintamoth)

The Epic choices didn't change quite as much as the other rarities with only Sino replacing Mono since the last time we had this theme. None of these three really stands out above the others, so this is a case where you might evaluate your own goals and choose based on those.

You can tell when a selection pool of Epics is a little meh when the second most chosen option in our Discord poll was "Whatever Crosses My Path". Sino leads the way with Mammoth coming in ahead of TRex.

Free Cash Link

GamePress is excited to be able to provide weekly cash links worth $50 cash in game! The code can only be claimed once a week and you must click on it using the device you play JWA with. It will be active from Monday, 12 PM EST - Sunday, 12 PM EST every week. This is a promotional code provided courtesy of Ludia, Inc and is exclusive to GamePress. We will post this link in an article we publish each week. We will post all articles on our Twitter so follow us at NewsJWA on Twitter so you don't miss out!

If you enjoy our content, please help let others know this is the source of the cash links people just post for the taking all over social media. The same goes for YouTubers PokeFodder, Gaming Beaver, and Gaming Ells. All links have a purpose behind them, and that is to promote some kind of media and drive traffic. Most people simply do not know there is actually a purpose behind these links, and we'd like to try to educate as many as we can. Take a moment to politely explain this in these posts. It isn't free money some random stranger on the internet whipped up. Every time these links are shared, it is taking opportunity away from an intended purpose. Please think about that or maybe find some time to visit Gaming Beaver, PokeFodder, GamePress JWA, and the Ludia social medias.

*We can not control when Ludia officially deploys these links, but these are the times they are planned to be active.
