JWA Weekly Events Oct 19 to Oct 25: Halloween part 1

Introduction

Explorers! We were provided early information about this week's event, Halloween Part 1, and it's going to be filled with fun and spooky creatures, including some first cracks at a couple new ones! Let's get to it and talk about our recommendations of what to dart before we break down the rest this week has to offer!

Weekly Calendar Explained

Before we dive in to the week, we'll break down how the weekly event calendar works. First, each day is considered started at 10am Eastern on that day. It is possible that wherever you live, it might actually be the previous or next day, so we wanted to help clarify how they determine what day it is. At this time, event creatures & strike towers will be updated as applicable. This information is also noted on the calendar.

Ever wonder why some weeks we’re given 45 attempts on commons and others only 18 or 27? The reason for this is that the volume of attempts is a simple math calculation based on the rarity and number of options. Take the rarity base number and multiply by the number of options and voila, you have your total allowed attempts! Having more variety in the options yields that many more attempts. The flip side is it may be more difficult to find the creature(s) you favor. Below details the number of attempts assigned to each rarity which is used to determine how many attempts you receive (though occasionally, they stray from this math). This is the total you are allotted across all options, so it is important to select your choices wisely.

  • Common = 9 per
  • Rare = 6 per
  • Epic = 3 per
  • Legendary/Unique = 1 total

They recently started putting the number of attempts on the calendar again and sometimes stray from the above. Refer to the calendar for the confirmed counts. Each rarity has a different length of time the spawn lasts followed by a different length of time until respawn after despawn. Commons and Rares will last 1 hour with about 5 minutes between. Epics last 2 hours with about 5 minutes in between.

All strikes and trials are represented on the calendar with the level of difficulty along with how long they last (1 day or 2 days). The trials are shown along the very bottom in gray boxes.

Featured Creatures: Commons

 Wednesday - Thursday: 27 attempts

  • Monolophosaurus Gen 2 (Local 4 Anytime) (Monolometrodon>Monolorhino, Scorpius Rex Gen 2>Scorpius Rex Gen 3)
  • Phorusrhacos (Local 3 Day/Dawn/Dusk) (Velosrhacos, Phorusaura>Phorurex)
  • Tarbosaurus (Global Anytime) (Thoradolosaur, Tarbognathus>Compsoraptor)

Overall

Like most sets of commons, there really isn't anything about either of these that make one superior to the other. We would suggest darting whatever crosses your path rather than spending extra time trying to be particular, especially with 27 attempts over two days.

Featured Creatures: Epics

Friday - Saturday: 9 Attempts

  • Ghost (Battle Exclusive)
  • Red (Global Short Range Anytime)
  • Tiger (Global Short Range Dawn/Dusk)

Overall

These are all pretty even as far as useful goes, but we really like Tiger as your top choice considering by Friday it will have only been out for 4 days. We've had a decent amount of time to grind battle incs for Ghost and hunt for Red (though this is the first time we've had Red in an event). Tiger is also more challenging to hunt with being only available at Dawn and Dusk. The new creature tracker will hopefully make finding these a lot easier, so that could counter in to an argument for Ghost as your choice.

Featured Creatures: Legendaries

Sunday: 2 Attempts

  • Alloraptor (Event Exclusive) (Allodrigues)
  • Ankylodactylus (Event Exclusive)
  • Indominus Rex (Event Exclusive) (Erlidominus, Indoraptor, Indonemys)

Overall

We always appreciate free Legendary DNA, and don't forget, we also get one attempt at Scorpios Rex Gen 3. That is the only unique option, so there is no need to analyze, just get out and get yours. All three of these Legendaries are very nice. We prefer Ankylodactylus despite no hybrid at this time. This is one of the top legendaries out there and can even be spotted on some top arena teams. This one may not require any Exclusive DNA, but it does require a ton of the park spawn, Doedicurus, which you may not have easy access to. The small case we can make for Alloraptor is this one does require an event exclusive component in Allosaurus Gen 2. Last, we have Indominus Rex, and we know many of you will want to get your hands on this to use toward the fusible Apex. This is also useful for the recently buffed Erlidominus. The main reason we feel you'd be better suited for the other two is this one is relatively easy to hunt the components. Both Velo & TRex are global, anytime spawns. Plus we continue to have the opportunity to raid TRex every week.

Featured Creatures: Rares

Monday - Tuesday: 18 Attempts

  • Andrewsarchus (Local 2 Anytime) (Andrewtodon>Andrewtops)
  • Erlikosaurus Gen 2 (Global Anytime) (Erlikogamma, Erlikospyx)
  • Pyroraptor Gen 2 (Global Dawn/Dusk/Night)

Overall

We absolutely suggest the brand new Pyro2 over these others. Word on the street is its hybrid beats Rexy, so you'll want to get this DNA as quickly as you possibly can! This one also only spawns during Dawn/Dusk/Night which may limit your ability to hunt it.  We can not find any reason for you to choose either of the others over this one unless you are simply short on time. In that case, go with whatever crosses your path but hope that it's mostly Pyro2

We will not have any dinosaur specific strikes this week, but we do have the Boost Strikes on Thurday (Attack), Saturday (HP), and Monday (Speed).

We have the standard treasure chase on Sunday where distance doesn't matter. You can collect up to 25,000 coins through each period (Sunday will run 11am Eastern to 8pm Eastern, then it will reset until 11am Eastern Monday) - this allows 2 total chances at the coins!

The Ankylos Lux pursuit begins with Tuojiangosaurus (say that 10 times fast)!

Free Cash Link

GamePress is excited to be able to provide weekly cash links worth $50 cash in game! The code can only be claimed once a week and you must click on it using the device you play JWA with. It will be active from Wednesday, 12am Eastern - Tuesday, 11:59pm Eastern every week. This is a promotional code provided courtesy of Ludia, Inc and is exclusive to GamePress. We will post this link in an article we publish each week. We will post all articles on our Twitter so follow us at NewsJWA on Twitter so you don't miss out!

If you enjoy our content, please help let others know this is the source of the cash links people just post for the taking all over social media. The same goes for YouTuber Gaming Beaver. All links have a purpose behind them, and that is to promote some kind of media and drive traffic. Most people simply do not know there is actually a purpose behind these links, and we'd like to try to educate as many as we can. Take a moment to politely explain this in these posts. It isn't free money some random stranger on the internet whipped up. Every time these links are shared, it is taking opportunity away from an intended purpose. Please think about that or maybe find some time to visit Gaming Beaver, GamePress JWA, and the Ludia social medias.

*We can not control when Ludia officially deploys these links, but these are the times they are planned to be active.
