JWA Weekly Events Sep 28 to Oct 4: Raid Festival

Submit Feedback or Error

Introduction

Explorers! We were provided early information about this week's event, Raid Festival, and it doesn't look to disappoint. In addition to some great darting choices, we'll have the limited return of Indominus Rex & Smilonemys as raid bosses as well as extra boosts in the boost towers. Let's get to it and talk about our recommendations of what to dart before we break down the rest this week has to offer!

Weekly Calendar Explained

Before we dive in to the week, we'll break down how the weekly event calendar works. First, each day is considered started at 10am Eastern on that day. It is possible that wherever you live, it might actually be the previous or next day, so we wanted to help clarify how they determine what day it is. At this time, event creatures & strike towers will be updated as applicable. This information is also noted on the calendar.

Ever wonder why some weeks we’re given 45 attempts on commons and others only 18 or 27? The reason for this is that the volume of attempts is a simple math calculation based on the rarity and number of options. Take the rarity base number and multiply by the number of options and voila, you have your total allowed attempts! Having more variety in the options yields that many more attempts. The flip side is it may be more difficult to find the creature(s) you favor. Below details the number of attempts assigned to each rarity which is used to determine how many attempts you receive (though occasionally, they stray from this math). This is the total you are allotted across all options, so it is important to select your choices wisely.

  • Common = 9 per
  • Rare = 6 per
  • Epic = 3 per
  • Legendary/Unique = 1 total

They recently started putting the number of attempts on the calendar again and sometimes stray from the above. Refer to the calendar for the confirmed counts. Each rarity has a different length of time the spawn lasts followed by a different length of time until respawn after despawn. Commons and Rares will last 1 hour with about 5 minutes between. Epics last 2 hours with about 5 minutes in between.

All strikes and trials are represented on the calendar with the level of difficulty along with how long they last (1 day or 2 days). The trials are shown along the very bottom in gray boxes.

Featured Creatures: Commons

 Wednesday - Thursday: 36 attempts

  • Dilophosaurus Gen 2 (Global Anytime) (Dilophoboa>Spinoconstrictor, Tyrannolophosaur>Tenontorex)
  • Dimetrodon Gen 2 (Global Anytime) (Monolometrodon>Monolorhino)
  • Monolophosaurus Gen 2 (Local 4 Anytime) (Monolometrodon>Monolorhino, Scorpius Rex Gen 2>Scorpius Rex Gen 3)
  • Suchomimus (Battle Exclusive) (Suchotator>Thylacotator>Thylos Intrepidus)

Overall

Like most sets of commons, there really isn't anything about either of these that make one superior to the other. We would suggest darting whatever crosses your path rather than spending extra time trying to be particular, especially with 36 attempts over just two days.

Featured Creatures: Epics

Friday - Saturday: 12 Attempts

  • Diplodocus (Event Exclusive) (Geminititan)
  • Giganotosaurus (Event Exclusive) (Giganyx)
  • Sonorasaurus (Event Exclusive) (Skoonasaurus)
  • Stygimoloch (Local 4 Anytime) (Paramoloch>Tuoramoloch, Ankylomoloch>Ankylos Lux)

Overall

The Epics this week are the stuff dreams are made of, but choosing might feel like a nightmare. We have 3 Event Exclusives, and the highly sought after Stygi that's needed for multiple great hybrids. We're going to stand by our standard advisement of selecting event exclusive over what can be found in the wild. We view these fairly evenly, as all of their hybrids have sadly seen better days. You'll still find Skoona and Giganyx lurking in the arena, but they are dying off as people are able to build newer and better options. Diplod is the greatest powerhouse when it comes to qualifying tournaments. If your approach is centered around raids, a la Raid Festival, then your order would be Stygi, Diplod, Sonora, Giganoto. This is a week where you might choose to split your options among multiple choices. No matter what you choose, we promise you that you can't go completely wrong.

Sunday: 2 Attempts

  • Parasaurolophus Lux (Global Short Range) (Parasauthops)
  • Rexy (Event Exclusive)
  • Tryostronix (Event Exclusive) (Giganyx)

Overall

Rexy. Don't need to say anything more than that. Everyone knows by now what an OP creature this one is by now. You can fuse Tryos and you can hunt PLux, but you can't hunt or fuse this one.

Sunday: 1 Attempt

  • Diloracheirus (Event Exclusive)
  • Parasauthops (Event Exclusive)
  • Tuoramoloch (Event Exclusive)

Overall

While all three of these are very useful, we give a slight edge to PThops. It's harder to find PLux than any of the components of the others, and we are limited to 2 per day if we're lucky enough to even stumble over two. This one is also found on most arena teams and in many raid strategies. On the flip side, we do get to raid this once a week. Next, we like Dilora for its arena viability and use in raids. At this time, Tuora is really only useful in raids, though it is maybe one of the most used creatures. It's a free unique attempt. Pick one and do it, you're saving yourself a lot of DNA and coins no matter which you choose.

Monday - Tuesday: 18 attempts

  • Dilophosaurus (Local 1 Day/Dawn/Dusk) (Ovilophosaurus, Diloranosaurus>Diloracheirus)
  • Tuojiangosaurus (Global Anytime) (Diorajasaur>Ankylos Lux, Tuoramoloch)
  • Marsupial Lion (Battle Exclusive) (Thylacotator>Thylos Intredpidus, Thylaconyx)

Overall

We know already that you are tempted by Dilo & Tuoj. Our top recommendation will be for the Battle Exclusive ML. The hybrids this little kitters create are all fantastic, and you're going to need so much to work on all of them. If your heart is really set otherwise, then we suggest Dilo as it's less readily available, and the hybrid can be very useful in the arena and raids. We do not recommend choosing Tuoj over these other two. It is the most readily available in the wild, and it's highly likely you can just request this DNA from your alliance..

Both scent strikes this week will be Be the Boss scent (Thursday & Monday) This scent can a large variety of creatures with one Rare guaranteed, so refer to the i button in game for the whole list.

Treasure Chase

We have the standard treasure chase on Sunday where distance doesn't matter. You can collect up to 25,000 coins through each period (Sunday will run 11am Eastern to 8pm Eastern, then it will reset until 11am Eastern Monday) - this allows 2 total chances at the coins!

GamePress is excited to be able to provide weekly cash links worth $50 cash in game! The code can only be claimed once a week and you must click on it using the device you play JWA with. It will be active from Wednesday, 12am Eastern - Tuesday, 11:59pm Eastern every week. This is a promotional code provided courtesy of Ludia, Inc and is exclusive to GamePress. We will post this link in an article we publish each week. We will post all articles on our Twitter so follow us at NewsJWA on Twitter so you don't miss out!

If you enjoy our content, please help let others know this is the source of the cash links people just post for the taking all over social media. The same goes for YouTuber Gaming Beaver. All links have a purpose behind them, and that is to promote some kind of media and drive traffic. Most people simply do not know there is actually a purpose behind these links, and we'd like to try to educate as many as we can. Take a moment to politely explain this in these posts. It isn't free money some random stranger on the internet whipped up. Every time these links are shared, it is taking opportunity away from an intended purpose. Please think about that or maybe find some time to visit Gaming Beaver, GamePress JWA, and the Ludia social medias.

*We can not control when Ludia officially deploys these links, but these are the times they are planned to be active.
