Introduction and Infographic

Explorers! There’s an event going on in Montreal featuring some Ludia games, including JWA! And with it there is a Strike Event! This Strike Event will last for the entire event, so for 60 days! It’s definitely worth a try if you get the opportunity! Let’s get into the Strike Event and find out how to beat it!

As you can see, this is also kind of a Themed Strike! It features the Legendary Indominus Rex and its two components Velociraptor and Tyrannosaurus Rex! These dinosaurs are a good mix of Speed and Damage, so don’t go into this blindly! First, let’s talk about the creatures and then talk about beating them! Let’s get into it!

The iconic Velociraptor is the first creature I’ll cover. Velociraptor has the highest unboosted Speed in the game and if you’re unboosted it will attack first. And that first attack will hurt, because it’s a Pounce coming your way! 2x damage and Distraction will hurt coming from that Attack stat. You’ll need something with high Health and good Armor to withstand it.

But honestly, that’s where the good stuff ends for Velociraptor. Its abysmal Health allows it to get twoshot by most things. Speedboosted creatures with high damage will destroy Velociraptor. Superiority Strike absolutely destroys it, and it can’t stand any form of status at all. So you really shouldn’t worry about it if you got some armored/distracting Superiority Strike user like Wuerhosaurus or Kentrosaurus.

Tyrannosaurus Rex

Rexy is back again to wreak havoc! With a GIANT Attack stat and all Defense Shattering moves, Rexy absolutely destroys Armored Creatures, which kinda sucks because those are the counters for Velociraptor! These two have great synergy that way, and it makes this Strike Event kinda difficult. Furthermore, Rexys Health is ridiculous. Over 5.2k Health with that big of an Attack stat is kinda broken if you don’t have the tools to deal with that.

However, Rexy can be defeated with these threemove Effects: Distraction, Rending and DoT. Distraction is the easiest one to apply due to the damage reduction. DoT is also useful, but you’ll be getting hit very hard in the process. Rending is only really useful if you can distract big hits with Instant Distraction. Purutaurus and Carnotarkus are examples of that.

Indominus Rex

Velociraptor and Tyrannosaurus Rex already have good synergy with one another, Indominus Rex comes in and cranks up the difficulty a notch. All Armor Piercing attacks, Cloak, Immunity, good Health and Attack and a decent Speed tier at 107, Indominus Rex is a literal powerhouse. The Armor Piercing Impact buff helped it out a lot, as it now can do reliable big damage. Cloak, even with the dodge nerf, is still incredibly powerful, and even with the dodge nerf, Indominus can take a hit or two through Cloak when he dodges. Immunity also makes it unable to deplete its health by DoT or to reduce its damage with Distraction. So all in all, you’ve got a powerful dinosaur ahead of you!

Indominus however has one true weakess: Shields. It’s unable to break them, so use them whenever possible! Invinciblilty will help you out if it decides to Cloak. That way you reduce all damage it does! And you want to do that, because it hits really hard with the Attack stat it has. So bring Shields as much as possible, and Invincibility too!

All of these dinosaurs require something else to counter them. Velociraptor requires Speed control, Rexy requires Distraction/DoT/Rending, and Indominus requires Shields. Therefore, I’ll just be listing the best dinos that have at least one of these capacities down below. I’ll be highlighting my personal favorites in BOLD.
