An Interview with Jurricane: The Raid Master of JWA YouTube!

Explorers! We have another interview with one of our GamePress verified Content Creators! This week, the star of the show is Jurricane! He focuses his YouTube channel on primarily Raids, using funky and unorthodox strategies to win with various creatures you would never expect to do well! With his Raid knowledge, Jurricane has become well-known in the community for being a great Raider! Today, GamePress was able to get an interview with him, asking about his YouTube Channel and his opinions on JWA in general! Now for the interview. As with the interview with IDGT902 YOUTUBE, the questions have been divided between YouTube Channel and JWA questions. 

Tell us a bit about yourself and your YouTube channel! Who are you, and how do you want to influence the JWA Community?

Hi, I am Jurricane, a small JWA YouTuber that mainly enjoys doing Raids in the craziest ways possible. That might be carrying something through a raid with a massive team or have some "interesting" creature combos defeat a boss. A lot of people find raids a chore they have to get through to get to the rewards but me and my friends truly enjoy the "journey", I just hope my videos can bring some joy to others and help them with my strats to get some fun out of raids or at least inspire them to have some fun with raids of their own.

What was the inspiration of creating the YouTube channel?

My friend Sharktoothlizard (or Hadros Lux on Discord) often included me in testing his raid strategies, I enjoyed them so much that I wanted to share them with others so they could too, later on I started playing around with making my own strats with some friends and wanted to upload them as well. I also wanted people to be able to reach out to me and collaborate with me on projects like CatSharks special snake project where he wants to get a final hit with every snake on as many bosses as possible. (Which has been extremely fun)

You do a lot of Raiding content on your YouTube channel. Is there one particular video on your channel that you think people should watch, and why?

At the moment I am pretty proud of the “21 BASE Poukandactylus Destroys NEW Imperatosuchus APEX! (JWA 2.14)” video since I think it sums the channel up pretty well (At least the raid portion) that being a carry but using big over the top teammates. But pretty soon for our 500 sub special I have a very special Mortem strat we did the last day he was around with Blue and Rexy that is the one I am truly the most happy with, PowerfulRubbish stars in it as well as someone older viewers might be familiar with: VelociraptorBlue as well... the massive Blue.

Your most popular video is “Indotaurus takes on Ceramagnus! (JWA Tryo carry for Cera)" (not taking the Hydra Boa Unlock Short into account). Did you expect that video in particular to do so well compared to your other videos?

No, that was completely unexpected. You never know what videos will take off, some videos I put a lot of effort in and I thought would do better ended up doing the worst so you truly can’t know. It was a pleasant surprise for sure, that was one of the strats Sharktoothlizard made for us to test so I am glad the best viewed video is one from the early days of the channel.

Is there any particular content planned in the future? Give us a sneak peek into the future of the Jurricane YouTube channel if you will.

In the future I might dabble around with some commentary in videos explaining specific choices in raid strategies and other possible ways of going around it as well as further exploring JWA content like PVP and maybe some other dinosaur related games.

What do you enjoy the most about JWA right now?

For me it has to be the community, ever since I went onto discord for raids I have been surrounded by supportive helpful members like Whitewolf and my own alliance members as well. They have truly become close friends to me and we can always mess about with my close second: raids.

What do you dislike the most about JWA right now?

The large amount of bugs, it just adds a lot of time to everything especially raiding, sometimes it takes longer adding and inviting everyone than finding a team and the raid combined and that can just be frustrating at times especially when people are short on time and might miss out on it all together.

If there is one thing you can change about JWA right away, what would it be?

That would probably be expanding the friends list to 200 or 250. For my crazy strats I need a lot of different people to raid with and not a day goes by where I don’t have to remove people and it is really annoying. A lot of my friends in larger raid groups have the same issue so I hope this will someday be done. Or they could make it so you can invite someone by entering their name and code into a search bar from within the raid lobbies.

What is your best JWA memory?

My best memory would be Mortems last Raid day, I had a lot of fun spending a large portion of the day raiding with my friends to try a lot of different crazy Mortem strats while we could and it was honestly amazing. From a max level Inostherium to a big Ankylodicurus it was just a really fun experience.

What is your favourite Raid, past or present?

That would have to be Mortem Rex, he was a raid that was pretty simple with the main challenge being his cleansing moves, the latest updates especially making many things possible with the instant roar to 1-shot raptor to not need a speeder or Parasauthops being able to pretty much get through anything at level 21. I truly miss him.

Do you have any favourite creature to use in Raids?

Parasauthops, although I use it a lot less with mortem gone Parasauthops carried me through many crazy strats and is pretty much always a reliable healer for any boss, it is probably one of the best raiders out there, probably even overtaking Tuoramoloch

If you can share one message to Ludia, what would it be?

Although the game is not perfect it is truly enjoyable. A lot of people aren’t so much annoyed by the mistakes you make as by the lack of communication surrounding them. Recently you have really made a move in the right direction by releasing your plans for this quarter and this is exactly the type of stuff we need more of!
