Submit Feedback or Error

Introduction

It's Tuesday and that means a new datamine! This one looks to be big as we believe this is an unofficial teaser of what will be coming in 2.18. Ludia usually gives us an official teaser about the next update that we will put out in a separate article. Thanks to our expert dataminers jimbohi and ColoMtn!

Important Disclaimer: Datamine information is not official information and does not come directly from Ludia. Nothing listed in this article is guaranteed to come into the game. Ludia can scrap any of this at any given moment. If you share this information, share it responsibly.

New Creatures & Migration Info

New Dinos

We got an idea of possible new creatures in our 2.17 datamine but this seems to give us some more information about them.

Quetzalcoatlus GEN 2 a Cunning Expert Healer.

Red is a Cunning and Resilient Group Distractor.

Moros intrepidus is a Fierce Armor Piercer.

Thylos intrepidus is a Fierce, Swap-in Attacker.

Indonemys is a Cunning & Fierce Stalker.

Lystrosavis is a Cunning and Resilient Dodger

Migration

The Epic Brachiosaurus, Oviraptor GEN 2 and Quetzalcoatlus GEN 2 have been added to the Map!

Red has been added as a close-range creature. Find this Atrociraptor by exploring the Map!

Find Moros Intrepidus DNA in events, offers and rewards, and fuse Thylos Intrepidus and Indonemys DNA in your Lab!

These are all the creatures we will see in the new update. We are unsure of hybrid components at the moment but we are excited to see some more Gen2 creatures and it looks like 3 of the new creatures will be active on the map. It also looks like we can expect Brachio to be wild again as well. Moros Intrepidus looks like it will be exclusive.

Move Updates and New Raids

We found some move changes as well as dates for the new raids as well

Move updates

MINIMAL CRITICAL COUNTER becomes MINOR CRITICAL COUNTER

RAMPAGE becomes GROUP RAMPAGE

MEDIUM COUNTER-ATTACK becomes PRECISE COUNTER

DECELERATING IMPACT becomes GROUP DECELERATING IMPACT

MINOR COUNTER-ATTACK becomes MINOR PRECISE COUNTER

TAUNTING BELLOW becomes TAUNTING HEAL BELLOW

FIERCE IMPACT becomes GROUP FIERCE IMPACT

Raids

Troodoboa will enter Raids starting Saturday, October 1 2022!

Dreadnoughtus will enter Raids starting Saturday, October 1 2022!

The biggest thing to take away from this is we are not sure when and if these moves are changing or if it will affect ALL creatures with these moves. In fact, there is a good possibility these move changes will only be applied to a specific set of creatures. If all creatures with these moves get these move changes, this could be a huge shake-up in the meta. It looks like they are trying to add more group attacks and more ways for counterattacks to bypass things like dodge.

Creature Changes

They hinted at some creature changes in the Community Update but it looks like we have more information on what we can expect.

Creature Changes

Albertocevia has become a staple of many teams, due to its excellent kit and stats. However, it can be a little overwhelming with its wealth of options. Therefore we decided to lower its attack stat a bit, to make it more manageable.

Our analytics found that Albertospinos was overall performing worse than expected, especially compared to its Albertocevia sibling. Therefore we are increasing its attack to more meaningful levels, as well as making its passive a bit stronger.

Dsungaia’s current kit suits it well, but its stats needed a solid upgrade. We’ve increased its attack by a little and its durability by a lot, while also giving it some new and improved resistances.

Glyptoceras’ stats don’t fit a modern creature of its rarity, causing an inflated loss rate. We’ve made a general buff to its stats to make the creature more effective in battle while maintaining its current identity. ",

"This early hybrid (we think this is Gigaspikasaur based on the next paragraph) creature has fallen out of style recently and has lacked a proper identity in the JWA meta. We’ve reworked its kit to better counter flocks, as well as updated its stats for use as a more offensive tank.",

Like Gigaspikasaur, Nodopatotitan’s kit was outdated and needed some sprucing. We’ve revamped its kit and stats to make it even more bulky, truly be worthy of the name “Titan”.

After release, Rinchicyon had trouble finding much of a place in the Legendary meta, especially with the flock infestation. Therefore we’re sprucing its Fierce Impact to a group attack, bolstering its effectiveness in Flock matchups and Raids.

Tarbognathus has been terrorizing other legendary creatures since its implementation, especially in Tournaments. This tiny terror needed to be scoped down slightly to make it more manageable by opponents, so we’ve reduced its damage a smidge.

These are some pretty exciting changes. It looks like the other legendary continential hybrids could be getting some love and we hope that puts them on par with Fukuimimus (even in a different role). We also love to see some of the older creatures like Dsungaia, Gigaskpikasaur, and Nodopototitan getting some attention as well. We hope the Albertospinos buff makes it relevant in the meta and we are happy to see them address creatures like Albertocevia and Tarbognathus. We also found it interesting that they acknowledged the "flock infestation". Should be some interesting changes for both the arena and tournaments if they come in game.
