The Log In Issue

Last week after Patch 2.9 went live, it was discovered that there were people completely locked out of the game and stuck on the loading screen with 1/30 showing. Topics were brought up on the forum about the matter, and Ludia assured us it was being looked into. Several "fixes" were suggested, but it seems that several of these fixes made the matter only worse and even more people ended up being locked out. We do not know exactly how many people it actually ending up affecting, but a new version of the game was pushed out by Ludia yesterday allowing those that were locked out to start playing again. Many people were unable to play for upwards of 6+ days and people kept detailed lists of what resources they missed out on in that time. In their forum announcement, Ludia indicated there would be compensation for the issue and we waited in anticipation to see what that would be.

When the compensation was announced, there was an uproar within the community. From the forum post:

Good morning DPG members,

After a tough few days for everyone, we’d like to announce that a fix for the 2.9 login issue is here!
The team is working with our partners to get the update available to all stores as soon as humanly possible. The fix will be available through downloading the latest version update made available on the stores! (Latest version is 2.9.29)

That being said, we would like to extend a big thank you to the many players that reached out through our various channels to assist in reporting the issue and their experiences. It was through this assistance that the team was able to narrow down the specific cause and determine the final solution.

We will update this thread once a compensation plan has been fully set and released.

Update - 8/11/21

  • A global Compensation Mail will be sent to all players on August 11th, 2021 at 1:00 PM ET. This mail will expire on August 23rd, 2021 at 10:00 AM ET.
  • The September 3rd, 2021 Cash Tournament will be converted to a x2 Multiplier for Alliance Points.

GamePress posted a list of items that people had missed out on in the Dear Ludia Letter published earlier this week (linked below). A premium incubator being sent to everyone didn't seem like appropriate compensation and the community spent the majority of the day yesterday voicing that opinion through the various social network platforms as well as the forum. GamePress would like to take it even further and conduct an official survey regarding the issue, the compensation, and the community's thoughts on the matter. 

The Survey

After the compensation was announced, players started to come together in solidarity with those that were actually affected by the issue. Posts on the forum started popping up with people cancelling VIP, vowing to never spend again, and voicing their opinion that the affected people needed more. 

GamePress knows that the forum and our audience represents a small percentage of the actual people that play the game so we want to see what everyone actually thinks of this issue. We are asking players to complete the following survey as honestly as they possibly can. The survey will be anonymous and we will compile the results and share them with Ludia on a forum post as well as a follow-up article. Please share this survey with your alliance, your friends, and everywhere else you can so we can get a good representation of players. Thank you for helping us provide this information to Ludia and letting us be a voice for the JWA Community.
