Introduction

Explorers! The weekly events have been announced and once again we've got your coverage. This week's theme is Cleanse with a Wound theme in the strike events. Both of these are newer events and were originally reported in our datamine article a couple of weeks ago. We'll break down what to dart and what to expect from the strike events. So let's get to it!

What to dart

You have an option of 2 common dinos. Both of them are incubator exclusive so you can't go wrong with either. Miragaia is a component of the very strong legendary hybrid Dsungaia. Phorusrhacos doesn't have a hybrid yet, but it is also a newer dino and we haven't seen a lot of it so this could be the better choice for a lot of people.

You have attempts at 5 rare dinos in the middle of the week. Carnotautrus, Kaprosuchus, and Postosuchus are all hybrid components for Carnotarkus, Spinotasuchus, and Tryostronix (which are all Mid-Apex legendary dinosaurs). They can be viable on any team at any level so if you are lacking on any of these dinos they could be good options for you. Carno can also be found in Local 4, Kapro is an anytime night spawn and Postosuchus is a local 1 dino so they can also be found in the wild. Echo doesn't have a hybrid and while it is a good dino in the lower arenas, it isn't much of an end game dino for most people. Elasmotherium is a daily spawn on Tuesdays. Since you can't scent for this dino and given Ludia's history of using lesser available DNA for hybrids, this is what we will be focusing on. We only have one Cenozoic hybrid at the moment but we wouldn't be surprised to see more in the future.

Finally we have the epic dinos. Purutaurus, Postimetrodon, and Edmontoguanadon. All of these dinos are hybrids and Posti and Puru also have a hybrid of their own. Edmontoguanadon doesn't have a hybrid yet, but always has the potential to get one in the future. Our recommendation would be to go for the one you need the most DNA for. If you are running one (or it's hybrid) on your team then it wouldn't hurt to stock up on DNA. Personally, I will be darting Postimetrodon since I am working to level Tryostronix and want to save my Dimetrodon DNA for Magnapyritator,

TLDR: Our recommendation is to dart Phorusrhacos, Elasmotherium, and your choice of epic.

Strike Events

The strike event theme this week is Wound. Just like the cleanse theme, this is a new one we've never seen before and will feature the following creatures:

  • Spinotahraptor
  • Dimodactylus
  • Darwinopterus
  • Spinosaurus Gen 2
  • Spinosaurus
  • Scaphognathus
  • Suchotator
  • Dimorphodon
  • Suchomimus
  • Sarcosuchus

There are 2 epic strike events and one of them is a themed incubator. Friday will feature a Spinotahraptor themed strike and incubator and Sunday will feature a one step epic strike with the wound theme as the prize pool. As always we will have strike guides on all of these events so keep checking back for those!

Treasure Chase

In addition to the normal strike events, there is a new treasure chase featured this week. The red chests have the number 18 on them so we are thinking they are a nod to the Jeep's featured in the in the original movies.

Ludia posted an announcement about a new "moving chase" where treasure chests will appear and disappear every 15 minutes. These moving chase events will appear every other day with the regular treasure chase events and if you are able to collect enough, you might be able to collect up to 1 million coins in the month of August.

We are assuming the red chests represent the moving chase event so get ready to get out there and collect those coins!

In Conclusion

We are excited to see some new themes and creatures this week! And the new treasure chase seems promising as we will have the ability to really grind for those coins. We will make sure to keep you updated on any other events or changes that we see and make sure to join our discussion on our discord!
