Introduction

Explorers! The weekly schedule is out and it looks like we can look forward to Lunar New Year. We had this event last year and it has some really good DNA so we are excited to see it again! It also looks like we are getting an attempt at a Legendary creature to celebrate the year of the rat according to the Chinese Zodiac Calendar (we see what you did there Ludia). As usual, we'll break everything down and let you know what DNA is best to target. So let's get to it!

Featured Creatures - Common

Monday -  Wednesday: Commons (27 attempts)

Deinocheirus

Gallimimus

Tarbosaurus

What to Dart

Dart what you need most out of the group. Gallimimus is the only exclusive creature, but we do get a lot of it in incubators. If you run Monomimus or Pterovexus, however, it doesn't hurt to stock up. Tarbosaurus is a night exclusive creature so if you can't get out much at night, that might be the best option for you. Finally, we have Deinocheirus, which is currently a local 1 day time spawn. Its hybrid, Diloracheirus, has dropped some from its golden days, but it can still be useful in the arena with the right team.

Featured Creatures - Rare

Wednesday - Friday: Rares (24 attempts)

Arambourgiana

Dilophosaurus

Tuojiangosaurus

Wuerhosaurus

What to Dart

Arambourgiana is the best option out of the bunch. We just had a season with Arambo as the reward, but it is another exclusive creature and you will need a lot of it for Geminititan (that's getting a buff this next patch). All of the other creatures are components of Apex hybrids so if you need any of that DNA that is still a good option.

Featured Creatures - Epic

Saturday - Sunday: Epics (9 attempts)

Darwinopterus

Erlikosaurus

Sinoceratops

What to Dart

All 3 of these creatures are components of strong hybrids so they are all very good options. Erlikosaurus is needed for Erlidominus and seems to be elusive even to those players that live in local 2. Darwinopterus isn't the most conventional choice, but it is needed for Pterovexus and Stigydaryx and those are becoming more popular with teams. The Sinoceratops hybrids aren't what they once were but Thorodolosaur and Utarinex are still end game viable on many team (especially with boosts) so Sino might be your best bet if you are working on either of those creatures.

Featured Creatures - Legendary

Sunday: Legendary (1 attempt)

Dracoceratops

What to Dart

We have to give this one to Ludia. 2020 is the year of the Rat according to the Chinese Zodiac Calendar. And one of our favorite nicknames for this creature is the Rat. So the fact we are getting an attempt on it is hilarious and we love that they played with the unofficial nickname for it.

Dracoceratops still has the chance to get a super-hybrid so even if you have it at level 30 or you don't run it on your team at all, it's smart to go ahead and collect some DNA for it just in case. Plus, it's free DNA and who can turn that down?

Strike Events

The theme in the strike events is Lunar New Year themed as well so all the creatures we have a chance to dart will be available in the strike events.

We have 3 Epic Strike Events this week. There is an Erlikogamma themed Strike on Friday and 2 Lunar New Year themed Strikes over the weekend.

Themed Scent, Boost Strike, and Treasure Chase

There is a Lunar New Year Scent Strike on Thursday, and it looks like there is a Health Boost Strike on Wednesday.  We also have a Lunar New Year chase. According to the forum:

Collect up to 8,888 coins per day at Lunar New Year Treasure boxes by visiting them up to 10 times per day. You can also find during this time Sanctuary items and New Year scents in Supply Drops!

We are excited about the extra coins and sanctuary items, but we aren't sure what the New Year scent is. Last time it didn't show up as expected so we'll have to see what we get tomorrow.

In Conclusion

We are very excited about this week! Even more exciting is we are expecting the 1.12 update to drop soon! There is supposed to be a migration with this next update so that could change your plan for the weekly dinos depending on where everything ends up. Just keep that in mind when planning out your week. And we will make sure to release the latest spawn guide as soon as we have it!  What do you think about this week?
