JWA Patch 2.20: New Creatures!

Submit Feedback or Error

Introduction

So new notes, and that means new creatures! And boy do we have a few interesting creatures here, so let’s see what they bring to the table in this new meta with armor buffs and reductions.

Panthera – Epic

Panthera is a nonhybrid epic

Moveset:

  • Retreat
  • Berserk Clawed Revenge
  • Berserk Biting Revenge
  • No Escape

First up, we have the final atrociraptor Panthera. Panthera is a pretty cool nonhybrid with an entirely unique moveset. The kit flows well for a revenge and run style of play. Revenge killing flocks and tanks is also a nice touch, and with retreat it looks solid. Let’s hope it gets pin immunity to pair with this kit.

Panthera Blytheae – Legendary

Panthera Blytheae is a nonhybrid legendary

Moveset:

  • Debilitating Strike
  • Evasive Hunt
  • Cunning Rampage
  • Precise Double Strike
  • Medium Nullifying Counter
  • Swift Wounding Swap in

Speaking of Panthera, let’s talk about the other nonhybrid, Panthera Blytheae, which is the oldest member of the genus Panthera known. And this big cat has some solid moves to back it up. It has precise double strike to kill flocks, cunning rampage for fierce, evasive hunt to boost those rampages, and debilitating strike is a good basic attack. And with a swap in and nullifying counter, this is the PERFECT Rexy Counter. Unfortunately it looks exclusive, but based off Rexy, odds are it’ll be wild soon.

Spinoceratops – Legendary

Spinoceratops is a legendary hybrid with Spinosaurus gen 2 and Sinoceratops

Moveset:

  • Heavy Strike
  • Brace
  • Lethal Wound
  • Instant Rend
  • Swap in Stunning Strike
  • On Escape Obstruction

The other legendary creature added is Spinoceratops, the last cannon hybrid introduced into the franchise. This legendary will be crazy strong in not only the legendary meta, but the arena too. The legendary meta has a lot of stally creatures like Gigaspikeasaur, Nodopatititan, and Fukuimimus, and this thing looks like it’s here to destroy them all. It has a better dig in, a rend move that can be good paired with lethal wound, and a solid base attack. But the real reason to use this is the swap and on escape moves being some of the strongest ones out there. Let’s hope the stats match up, but because this is a new creature, it probably will.

Pyrorixis - Unique Superhybrid

Pyrorixis is a unique superhybrid made from Pyrosuchus and Ghost

Moveset:

  • Dispersed Cautious Strike
  • Greater Nullification
  • Instant Precise Impact
  • Berserk Decimating Wound
  • Swap in Nullification
  • Ferocious Counter Stun
  • No Escape

Now we have 2 new uniques that utilize the atrociraptors! First up is Pyrorixis, which is a fusion with Pyrosuchus and Ghost. Yep, ANOTHER Nundasuchus hybrid. This unique is going to rival Tyrannometrodon for a spot in many teams thanks to its ability to destroy tanks and have solid priority. And with that counter, anything with no stun immunity better pray. This thing is going to hit like a truck.

Atrocidistis – Unique Superhybrid

Atrocidistis is a unique superhybrid made from Tragodistis and Red

Moveset:

  • Tough Group Cunning Strike
  • Accelerating Shielding Distraction
  • Sheltering Impact
  • Berserk Resilient Rampage
  • Precise Counter

If one Atrociraptor hybrid isn’t enough, there’s another one that was released this patch. Atrocidistis is looking to be just as good as Pyrorixis,if not even better. With tough group cunning strike and berserk resilient rampage, this thing is going to beat up flocks, especially with that precise counter. And with accelerated shielded distraction, you have solid defenses and speed control. However, the best move on this unique is sheltering impact, which allows it to cleanse the damage lost and pin done by the resilient rampage. And due to Tragodistis having high armor along with Red, expect this guy to have some armor too. Shame Red is going to be exclusive.

Geminideus - Fusable Apex

Geminideus is an apex that is fused from Geminititan and Stegodeus

Moveset:

  • Slowing Resilient Strike
  • Group Disarming Rampage
  • Shielding Alert Rampage
  • Harden
  • Precise Group Counter

Finally, we end with the big bad of this patch. Geminideus is looking to be the next big thing in terms of resilients. With high offensive moves and a counter and attack that buff its armor to 100%, you'll NEED a fierce like Pyrorixis to break through this goliath. And even still, you'll still need to deal with that distraction and that rampage. Be ready to face this apex as I'm sure many people have Stegodeus ingredients ready to go.

Parting Words

Those are all the new creatures. It looks like Ludia is trying to avoid flocks with all these creatures. I find it funny that something like Compsoraptor that was dominating the meta 2 patches ago is now kinda dead. And with the armor buffing creatures like Geminideus, it sucks for creatures like Erlidominus that just got buffed. In my opinion, they need to slow things down. But anyways, thank you for reading and have a happy Thanksgiving.

About the Author(s)

Hi there, I'm Eduardo. I love catfish, and you're looking at my Bullhead Axel here. Huge fisherman and half the time I'm out the door at 4 a.m. as those fish won't catch themselves. Love to cook and circus peanuts are delicious.
