Shingetsu (a Touhou LW original) refers to the first moon that can be seen after the new moon. While Reisen is still inexperienced, she is filled with possibility―just like this temperament. As a moon rabbit, Reisen is endowed with Wood Phase, the element of the rabbit, and Moon Essence, the element of the moon.

The strong and kind Wood Phase resists Water Phase, because water nourishes wood, but it is weak to Metal Phase, because metal carves wood.

The cooperative and indecisive Moon Essence resists the alluring and arrogant Sun Essence, but it is weak to the diverse and uncooperative Star Essence.

Reisen's Spell Card (a Touhou LW original). A time-delayed attack that uses the mirrors on the moon... or well, an attack that mimics it. On the near side of the moon―that is, the side of the moon seen in the outside world―there are a number of mirrors left behind by humans. According to measurements using these mirrors, the moon is apparently moving away from the earth at a rate of 3.8 centimeters per year. However, there are reports that the moon rabbits sometimes play pranks on the mirrors, so this could be related somehow...

Selfless Sacrifice (Merciful Marshal)

Reisen's Last Word (a Touhou LW original). A unique attack that heals and strengthens Reisen's allies at the expense of her own abilities. There is a legend about a rabbit that ascended to the moon, though it is unknown whether this has any relation to the moon rabbits. This rabbit's self-sacrificing death was acknowledged by Sakra, a god of war and protection... Whether this legend is the origin of the moon rabbits or not, is another story.

Not much is known about Reisen's ability. She seems to have the same regular abilities available to all moon rabbits, such as telepathy between moon rabbits and quick movement. She is so quick that she once vanished from Reimu's sight, though Reimu had been caught off guard at the time. There are no significant records about Reisen, but she is a moon rabbit, which means she is a youkai. In a battle of bullets, where youkai fight on equal terms even against humans, she could have quite an advantage... But in the end, moon rabbits do not make very good soldiers.

Character Analysis

Reisen was released on July 9th, 2021 in "Prayer: Bunny Trap!". For more up-to-date analysis, be sure to visit the Official Discord Server.

Note: While she's tagged as a Destruction unit, Reisen is a supportive unit, and simply has that role due to the abundance of Killer in her kit.

Reisen was a rabbit soldier who fled to the earth, only to be sent back home with a letter to the Watatsuki sisters. Afterwards, she wound up becoming their personal pet, to replace their other pet who had fled to the earth - Reisen Udongein Inaba (at the time, merely Reisen). Yes, they gave her the exact same name as their old pet. Outside of this, Reisen serves as a trainee in the Lunar Defense Corps.

Don’t even try to farm with Reisen. Her Last Word deals no damage, and even though her second Spell Card has a Killer that's effective against a large majority of the cast, her base attack stats are simply too low for it to accomplish anything on Lunatic. However, as her own speed is somewhat middle-of-the-road, she can serve as a buffing support for anyone slower than her.

For harder fights, Reisen is a mixed bag. She has a lot of positives - namely, she buffs almost every stat there is, with not insubstantial values either. She even provides a massive chunk of team-wide Evasion and a large heal on her Aid Last Word. Unfortunately those positives are offset by two major flaws - firstly, the durations of her buffs are low, 2 turns each. This wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t for the fact that the majority of them are on her first Spell Card and Last Word, which means that unless she’s attaching her buffs to pre-existing buff stacks with a duration of 3 turns or longer, Reisen must choose between either using her first Spell Card, or her Last Word.

Additionally, she also has extremely low damage, in spite of the fact that she’s blessed with the wonderful Gensokyo-Killer, as her attacking stats are abnormally low. She also has no way to Break Barriers. Finally, her Last Word also leaves her with an extremely high chance of getting knocked out immediately, which while not the worst thing in the world, is pretty funny.

Overall, Reisen’s still definitely better than nothing, and due to the nature of LostWord it’s almost certain that you’ll get use out of her. Just don’t expect too much from her, she’s just a trainee after-all!

Reisen is generally going to be an awkward Friend since on one hand, her Spell Card 1's best usage is to hone in on team support, and in some cases, debuffs. On another hand, you could possibly use her Spell Card 2 for potentially high damage thanks to its Gensokoyo Killer, but this is further enhanced by her Fantasy Rebirth 2.0 enhancements on this Spell Card, making Laser-Boosting Cards and Non-Elemental Cards being the best picks to get the most out of this. As for team support, Yang ATK, Yin ATK, Accuracy, CRIT ATK and Spirit Power are the easy choices to go with here.

Character Skill Level Up Recommendations

Unfortunately, all of Reisen's skills don't benefit much from levels. It may be worth it to rush Lunar Veil to level 6, as it obtains 2 Levels of Evasion UP at that point and hitting level 6 is pretty easy, but otherwise she should be on the last for your training list. When you do, Making Strength Medicine should be prioritized, as it's generally more universally useful than Making Sight Medicine, and Lunar Veil can be maxed out whenever.
